Chapter 5: The Ritual
"I swear to God whoever modified my formula is going to die!!.", Nero exclaimed with anger. His eyes were focused on the translucent screen showing the following sequence as he pursed his lips.
Under the Wheel of Fortune symbol, a small blackish text was present; this simple text deeply troubled Nero. The text being —
"Sequence 7, Wheel of Fortune Pathway — Lucky One.
Advancement Ritual: Consume the potion in the midst of The Fool's first downfall, ingest the potion without drawing attention or making the Godly gazes move."
The text was quite vague but with a few deductions, Nero understood that he had to consume this potion during Klein's death at the hands of Megose. A infinitesimally impossible task, every single God had their eyes on Klein right now and it was a foolish option to go there and consume his potion.
Nero's thoughts also drifted to the fact about what the Gods would do if they found out his unique pathway, would they try to hunt him down or try to make him their slave and make him surrender his pathways formula. Either way Nero did not want to find out.
Nero bit his nail and paced around the starry realm his eyes soon deviated to the typewriter sitting on the star speckled long table, his eyes lit up as the gears in his head shifted, he hastily made his way to the typewriter. It looked like a Smith-Corona Sterling mechanical typewriter with black and gold highlights, the copy paper was a papyrus paper with a distinctive rectangular shape.
A stack of papyrus paper was next to the typewriter, Nero soon loaded the papyrus paper on the paper table and turned the platen knob. He used the ribbon selector and used black and kept the margin on the left side.
Nero hastily typed away and soon removed the paper. He gave a second glance to check everything was alright, after confirming that everything was in order threw it to the side, the paper spontaneously combusted. The second the paper combusted, Nero's head dropped as his eyes clamped down.
Nero soon dreamt of himself experiencing different kinds of misfortune, falling down the stairs, his food catching on fire which made him burn himself, getting stabbed as he was trying to cook etc. He then saw himself getting into a fight and snapping his fingers which made him luckily avoid a fatal blow, in another instant an attack that he launched which was supposed to strike a non vital area somehow drowned his opponent.
The scene soon altered and he saw himself experiencing more severe cases of misfortune, he again saw himself fighting only for this time he saw his opponent being unlucky. Instances of missing his attacks, hitting himself with his attack and accidentally launching an attack onto an ordinary person only for the person to utterly decimate him — he was a demigod.
The scene became distorted and Nero saw himself fighting against an enemy, he saw himself missing an attack while his enemy was about to land a blow. But to his surprise, the illusory version of him snapped his fingers and his attack which was supposed to miss, struck the opponent and devastated him while his opponent's assault missed him.
Nero's eyes soon snapped open as he took a big gasp, his divination had ended!. His thoughts shortly drifted to the bizarre and mystifying dream, 'Those scenes didn't answer my question at all, what were those scenes depicting?. Wait let's use some logic here, I had typed out the question of why there was a need for a ritual as an answer to my question my Sefirot showed these perplexing dreams.
What if those special powers I saw were a result of my ritual?, yes this conclusion makes sense. So the ritual amplifies the power of the potion, but why is there a ritual?. When I originally made the pathway on Earth, I didn't include these rituals so what changed now?.
Is it a result of my pathway adapting to the world?, but this begs the question — why did my pathway manifest in this world?.'
Nero speculated the answers to his questions for quite some time before giving up. The only way he could actually find these answers was to ascend — ascend the sequences fast!.
This then begged the question, where was he supposed to find the formula for the Wheel of Fortune pathway?!!. The Wheel of Fortune pathway was quite strictly controlled, the only organisation to have control over this pathway was the Life School of Thought and it monopolized this pathway.
'Would I have to seek out the Life School of Thought for it?, will they eliminate me after seeing my chaotic fate — I don't think it's chaotic but there must be a side effect for me consuming several different potions without going mad. Side effects that the Life School could see.
But there's another option for this, I could seek out Will right now. He may be curious if he sees me and might grant me what I want, he'll also be interested in being allies with me once he sees I can consume potions of different pathways making me quite a strong ally. I could also seek out Darkwill and take on his mission of finding his master who might give me to formula as a way of thanks'
But Nero soon disregarded those thoughts, Darkwill's master going missing would happen far later in the future, while the ritual Nero needed to perform had a three month deadline — This was the day of The Fool's first death. Nero's only option remained was to seek out Will and get him to cough up the potion formula.
'It would be great if I could have my own Tarot Gathering and have a myriad of sources. But I shouldn't worry about it too much, it'll only take a bit longer', Nero said ominously as he glanced at the various stars occupying the vast space.
______
A/N - Okay so I copied the ritual off of another novel called Lord of The Mysteries: Singularity, good read. You may ask why --- because of plot, I'm writing two novels at a time which makes it hard to create plot points. I can't put it into words but basically I can't use the plot I think of for both novels, suppose I think of a plot that applies to both of my novels, I can only implement it into one for the other one I have to think of a new plot point. Which actually puts pressure on my creativity and makes it harder for me to pump out chapters, but while I was thinking of a new plot point I recalled about the ritual in Singularity and I thought it would fit. After all, Klein's honorific name includes --- King in Yellow and Black who wields good luck, and you guys can connect the rest ayy. So, now I've thought of something new, this applies only for my other novels called Lord of The Mysteries: Chained where you guys can give me suggestions about a few plot points which I can implement in the comments. I'll scroll through the suggestions and implement the one I think is the best. AGAIN THIS APPLIES ONLY FOR MY OTHER NOVEL.
