Leon had seen the peculiarities in Anan's eyes and went on to use the system to run some tests on him, and the results were favorable.
He first used insight compass on him, but it came back with nothing apart from Anans future danger level. Then he researched the eyes in the sea of wisdom and was able to come to the conclusion that these eyes were the lumisight Eyes.
Since then, Leon decided that he wanted those eyes.
"There's an enormous slope down below. We might have to ditch the horses."
Floating down from the sky, Arian announced to Leon and Gunta.
Currently, they were deep inside the forest. This had been the situation for the last couple of weeks. Leon insisted that they move north of Eldoria.
This was strange as they were already so close to the border. If they really wanted to leave the kingdom, they would just cross the heaven devourer mountain range with the help of Arian.
"Ahhh, can't we take a detour?" Gunta suggested. When they burned down the tamlin camp, he had used the opportunity to steal as many treasures as he could. But because of how unforgiving this terrain was, they had been forced to leave behind treasures time and time again.
"Detour to where?" Arian tilted her head and asked gunta.
Unless he meant that they should take a complete U-turn into the West again, then there was absolutely no way out.
"I...." gunta was a bit hesitant, but he knew there was no choice. He took the most valuable things he could find and followed behind Leon as they proceeded to go down the massive slopes in front.
With this, they had successfully left the Highlands of the west and entered the lowlands of the Central kingdom.
,,,,,,,,,,,,
"Ummm, boss, why Again are we heading this way?" Gunta asked while staring back at the bulk load of treasures he had left behind.
"Oh...wait a freaking minute.....isn't that the royal capital?" Gunta was immediately stunned.
Leon was taking them to the Royal capital? What In the hell kind of decision was that? They were going to the royal capital of the kingdom that was prosecuting them. It was beyond stupid, it was suicidal.
Of course, the situation in the royal capital wasn't exactly what Gunta thought. Even though the rest of the kingdom's Warlocks were being prosecuted and enslaved, the ones in the royal capital were relatively safe.
Yes, this was absurd, but it was, in fact, the actual situation of the royal capital. Apparently, the royal capital had a concentration of powerful Warlocks that could wipe out the entire capital city's population if confronted with genocide. So the royalty were very cautious.
They'd rather hunt down the ones in the outskirts of the kingdom than try the ones in the royal capital.
"Keep your head high, it won't be long now..." Leon patted gunta on the back and moved directly into the distance.
Arian also had her reasons for wanting to go to Duan city, and so did Leon. Once he had his mind set on something, he would Chase it relentlessly.
A week later.
Leon, gunta and Arian stepped out from a shroud of bushes and onto a clearing that spanned as far as the eyes could see.
"That's it…."
In front of them was a massive city with walls so tall that even Leon couldn't help but gasps in amazement. He had been chained to the tallest mountain in his past life and still couldn't help but marvel at the sight of these walls.
This was the royal capital of Eldoria a kingdom that had ordered the killing and enslavement of all Warlocks and Leon couldn't wait to get into it, even though he himself was a warlock.
"Pay the toll"
"Pay the toll"
"Pay the toll"
At the front of the gate, a guard fitted in shining silver amour shouted at the top of his lungs. People walked up to him and dropped coins in his hand and went straight through the gate.....at least that was until...
"Hm? Hold it" all of a sudden the guard stopped a young man with a gray cloak over his head.
"Warlock eyes? Grab him" the guard commanded and out of nowhere several guards popped out and apprehended the young warlock.
This happened every day, but there were only two ways to survive the onslaught as a warlock. One was to leave the kingdom, however, on every boarder there were hunters ready to capture you and turn you into a slave. "
The second option was to come to the capital, but this was mainly for those already In the center of the kingdom because those from other parts would find It difficult to get here even if they tried.
There were thousands of hunters in the forest capturing warlocks, even Leon and Gunta had only made it here because Arian was a level 3 mage.
"Hmp!!" The guard sneered at the young warlock and looked back at the line in front of him. To him, the small number of Warlocks in the royal capital was already too much. They had basically taken the royal city hostage with their powerhouses.
"What? two in one day?" Upon seeing the new group in front of him, the guard asked with contempt.
"He is but a slave" Leon replied with impunity.
"Hmp!! Even slaves shouldn't be allowed into the royal city, young lad" the guard looked at Leon with the side of his eyes and spoke. He believed Leon to be some sort of noble's child because, right behind him was someone clearly more powerful than him.
Arian.
"Just keep the dirty thing in line, and if it associates with the scum we will treat it like scum" the guard waved his hand and let them in through the gates.
Not for one moment did he think that Leon was a warlock. This was due to one simple fact. Leon's eyes.
The easiest way to identify a warlock was through the ether in Their Eyes, there were other methods, but this one was the best and most cost-efficient.
However, the present Leon didn't have this Ether in his eyes. This was because he had stolen Anan's lumisight Eyes.
