Marvel: Batman x Ironman

Chapter 49: Grab a mojito and enjoy the show

[Yongsan Brothers' Hideout – Seoul]

The hideout was a sprawling underground network beneath the bustling streets of Seoul. Dimly lit by flickering neon lights, the central chamber thrummed with demonic energy, the air filled with cigarette smoke and the low hum of machinery. The Yongsan Brothers, one of the most notorious criminal syndicates in South Korea, prided themselves on their secrecy and their deep ties to the supernatural underworld.

At the center of the room sat Kyungtae Kim, the high-ranking Samjokgu operative, flanked by his lieutenants. His wolf-like features were faint, only visible to those attuned to demonic energy. His three legs were hidden under the table, but his imposing presence was unmistakable. A scar ran down his left cheek, a trophy from a past battle, and his cold, glowing eyes scanned the room with a predator's focus.

On a large screen before them played a grainy, twenty-second video. It showed a sleek black figure moving through smoke, effortlessly dispatching two powerful hybrids before vanishing in a crackle of energy. The footage was incomplete, but it was enough to spark tension among the gathered men.

"Pause it," Kyungtae growled.

The image froze on the figure with pointed ears and the emblem on its chest.

"A man," one of his lieutenants sneered, his voice dripping with disbelief. "Dressed as a bat? This is some kind of joke."

Kyungtae's claws tapped against the table, his expression unreadable. "It's no joke," he said, his voice low and measured. "This... thing killed Mina and Seojun, two of our best hybrids. And it did so without much effort."

The room fell silent. The idea that two powerful hybrids—creatures who had lived through countless battles—could be taken down so efficiently was unsettling.

One of the younger members, a nervous-looking man with a twitch in his eye, cleared his throat. "Sir, the footage came from a security camera near the construction site where the battle happened. It's incomplete, but we managed to recover this after the device melted. Whatever energy that thing uses... it's not normal."

Kyungtae's lips curled into a snarl. "I want a full analysis. Trace the origin of this... Bat-man. If he's human, he has limits. If he's something else, we need to know what we're dealing with."

Another lieutenant, a tall man with sharp features, leaned forward. "What about the Kumiho? She's still alive. We have reports that she's been taken to the West—New York. She won't stay hidden for long."

Kyungtae's eyes narrowed. "The Kumiho is mine. I've hunted her kind for centuries. That bloodline is the key to restoring our strength. If the humans have her, we'll take her back."

The sharp-featured lieutenant nodded. "And the bat?"

Kyungtae's grin was feral, his canines glinting in the dim light. "We'll kill him too. He'll regret stepping into our world."

One of the lieutenants hesitated, then spoke. "Sir, there's something else. The footage also shows a glimpse of his weaponry—advanced tech, far beyond anything we've seen from humans before. If he's aligned with the humans, their technology might make this more difficult."

Kyungtae waved a dismissive hand. "Technology can be destroyed. Bring in our allies. The human gangs under our thumb will provide cannon fodder. Let them test this 'Batman' and bleed him dry. We'll strike when he's vulnerable."

The room rumbled with agreement, a chorus of growls and murmured plans.

Another figure entered the room, a middle-aged man with a briefcase. He bowed deeply before Kyungtae. "Sir, I've brought the research files from our contacts in the West. It includes data on SHIELD operations and potential locations where the Kumiho might be held."

Kyungtae gestured for the man to set the briefcase down. "Good. We'll act soon. I want every resource at our disposal mobilized. This is no longer just a hunt. It's a war."

The room erupted in snarls of approval, the tension palpable as the Yongsan Brothers began plotting their next move.

[Meanwhile – SHIELD Headquarters, New York]

Back in the SHIELD base, Bruce Wayne studied the data in his lab, cross-referencing it with files from SHIELD's database. Jarvis's voice interrupted his thoughts.

"Sir, additional data on the Yongsan Brothers has been uploaded. Their operations are heavily tied to supernatural trafficking, with reports indicating they may have direct ties to the remaining Samjokgu."

Bruce's brow furrowed. "The Yongsan Brothers..." He activated the holographic interface, pulling up a map of Seoul with key points of interest highlighted. "If they're involved, they'll make a move soon. The Kumiho bloodline is too valuable to them."

Jarvis's voice remained calm. "Their latest movements suggest preparations for a large-scale operation. The likelihood of an attack on this facility is... significant."

Bruce smirked faintly, though his eyes were cold. "Let them come. It'll save me the trouble of hunting them down."

He glanced at the screen showing Ami's medical records. Her condition was stable, but her energy levels were dangerously low. She needed time to recover, but time wasn't a luxury they had.

"Jarvis," Bruce said, his voice firm. "Begin preparations for countermeasures. If the Yongsan Brothers come for her, I want them to regret it."

"And if they don't?" Jarvis asked.

Bruce's gaze hardened. "Then I'll go to them."

...

[Seoul – Yongsan District]

The Yongsan Brothers' underworld stirred like a hornet's nest. Orders were dispatched, alliances were summoned, and weapons were prepared. Kyungtae Kim stood on a balcony overlooking the neon-lit cityscape. His glowing eyes reflected the chaotic energy of the preparations below.

"Tonight, we reclaim what's ours," he muttered, his voice a low growl.

Behind him, a cadre of lieutenants and mercenaries assembled. Among them was a human sorcerer, clad in black robes with arcane symbols etched into his skin, who had been summoned for one purpose: to locate Ami.

"She's far," the sorcerer said, his voice raspy from years of chanting forbidden spells. He waved his hand over a glowing map of the world, Seoul and New York both pulsing faintly. "Hidden well. They've masked her energy. But with this," he tapped a crystalline artifact pulsating with dark energy, "I can break through their defenses."

Kyungtae sneered. "Do it. I don't care how many spells it takes or sacrifices. Just find her." Around them lay fifty dead humans, their bodies drained of blood.

The sorcerer's hands began to glow, a sickly green light spilling out and illuminating the room. The air thickened with malice as he chanted, and the artifact hummed ominously. The energy spread outward, searching.

"It's done," the sorcerer said, slumping slightly. "She's in New York. Lower Manhattan. A SHIELD facility."

Kyungtae's grin widened. "Perfect."

He turned to his lieutenants. "Send word to our contacts in the States. I want mercenaries, gangsters, anyone willing to die for a price. We're taking this fight to SHIELD."

"And the Bat?" one lieutenant asked hesitantly.

Kyungtae's expression darkened. "I'll deal with him personally. but our main target is the fox. Don't stray from our goal. It's time to use the teleporter."

[New York – SHIELD Facility]

Ami sat up in bed, her body still aching but her mind sharper than it had been in days. She stared at her hands, flexing them, trying to summon her foxfire. A faint glow flickered, but it fizzled out before forming fully.

"Damn it," she muttered, slamming her fist against the mattress. "Why now? Why can't I heal?"

Susan Storm walked into the room, carrying a tablet and a steaming cup of tea. She placed the cup on the bedside table and gave Ami a reassuring smile. "You're pushing too hard," she said. "Your body's been through more than most could handle. Give it time."

"I don't have time," Ami replied, her voice bitter. "They're coming for me. They always come."

Susan's expression softened, but before she could respond, the room's lights dimmed, and a holographic interface appeared, displaying Bruce Wayne's face.

"Ami," Bruce said, his tone calm but firm. "You're right. They're coming."

Ami's eyes widened. "You know?"

"We've intercepted communications," Bruce replied. "The Yongsan Brothers are mobilizing. They've identified this location, and they're preparing to attack."

Susan frowned. "How soon?"

"Hours, maybe less," Bruce said. "I've already deployed countermeasures. We're fortifying the facility, but we need to move her to a secondary location. This place won't hold against what's coming."

Ami clenched her fists. "I won't run again."

"Nope. You are gonna grab a mojito and enjoy the show," Bruce replied, his tone firm. He knew those third-rate thugs and so-called demonic beings wouldn't be able to do anything but die painfully.

Ami raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"

"You heard me, foxy. Grab a drink and enjoy the show," He activated the live surveillance feed from various locations around the base inside Ami's room. The wall of her room, now became a large screen showing different angles and locations within the facility, from the armory to the hanger bay.
