Chapter 3: Chapter 3: A Ruthless Force
This kind of battle was unprecedented. Even shinobi who specialized in taijutsu rather than ninjutsu had chakra flowing through their bodies. Han Yu's fighting style was something entirely new—a phenomenon never seen before in history.
Hearing Deva Path Pain's words, Han Yu momentarily stopped his attack, his expression shifting into one of contemplation.
Seeing that Han Yu appeared to be considering Pain's offer, Tsunade's expression grew even more grim. What little chakra she had left was being rapidly gathered, ready to counter any sudden betrayal from Han Yu.
After a brief pause, Han Yu looked at Deva Path Pain and said,
"Fine, give me what I want. I'll take your Shinra Tensei and Outer Path—Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique."
"What…?"
Deva Path Pain was momentarily stunned. He had expected demands for a substantial amount of money or perhaps a few A-rank or S-rank jutsus. But Han Yu's request was astonishing. Right out of the gate, he asked for Shinra Tensei and the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique.
The first was an unparalleled technique in both offense and defense, while the second was an extraordinary jutsu capable of resurrecting the dead—far beyond the grasp of ordinary individuals.
"What's the matter? You don't want to give them up?"
Han Yu narrowed his eyes, his tone laced with unambiguous menace. His lips moved ever so slightly, and in a voice audible only to Deva Path Pain, he uttered something that made the latter's stoic face betray a flicker of shock.
"This is just a puppet, isn't it? I know where your real body is. If you don't want to die so soon, you'd better hand them over."
Han Yu motioned casually with his chin, pointing in a particular direction.
"He knows where my real body is? How is that possible?"
Far outside the village, Nagato, the one controlling Pain, was visibly shaken. Han Yu not only recognized that Pain was a puppet but also seemed to know the location of his true body.
"Where did he get this information?"
Deva Path Pain glanced around. The people nearby were still clueless, their faces blank as though they hadn't heard what Han Yu had said. This method of communication only deepened the growing fear he felt toward Han Yu.
"Fine. If you want them, you can have them!"
As soon as he spoke, Deva Path Pain raised his hand and reached into his own eye socket, pulling out the Rinnegan from his right eye. Chakra surrounded the eye, preserving it from damage.
The act of gouging out his own eye made even Han Yu inhale sharply.
"Now that's a ruthless move," Han Yu thought to himself, impressed.
Deva Path Pain then retrieved a scroll and tossed both the eye and the scroll to Han Yu.
Catching the two items, Han Yu smiled faintly. The general store he managed didn't require the physical techniques themselves. As long as the abilities had been used and recorded, they could be added to his store's inventory.
That was precisely why Han Yu had no interest in going after Nagato himself.
The blade of Hyorinmaru in Han Yu's hand released a faint, visible white ring of energy that expanded outward from his position. The nearest victim, Deva Path Pain, was instantly frozen into an ice sculpture.
The remaining four Paths of Pain didn't even have time to react before they were similarly engulfed, each one frozen solid before they could even think of escaping.
"Ding. Task [Collect Unique Jutsu: Shinra Tensei] completed. Awaiting rewards."
Hearing the system's notification in his mind, Han Yu nodded in satisfaction. He turned to the now-iced Deva Path Pain and said softly,
"I've taken what I needed, so I'll spare your real body. But as for these puppets, I can't let them remain."
With a light tap on Deva Path Pain's frozen figure, the ice sculpture shattered, the fragments scattering like frosty mist. The other frozen Paths followed suit, disintegrating into fine ice particles.
The entire ordeal had unfolded so swiftly that it hadn't even taken ten minutes.
The villagers of Konoha, Tsunade included, stood frozen in stunned silence. They resembled geese caught mid-honk, unable to voice their thoughts.
This lightning-fast battle made their earlier, hard-fought struggle feel utterly meaningless—a bad joke in comparison.
"This… this is impossible!"
Tsunade's lips, pale with disbelief, trembled as she stared at the slim figure before her. In a daze, she murmured,
"Just who is he…?"
Han Yu's combat style completely shattered everyone's understanding of the shinobi world. Even across generations of Hokage, none had ever demonstrated the ability to imbue chakra directly into a weapon to create elemental attacks.
Tsunade carefully observed the battlefield, confirming that the Six Paths of Pain were truly defeated. Only then did her body give in, collapsing uncontrollably. She had reached her limit.
The chakra she had overdrawn to protect the entire village had left her utterly depleted. Without its sustaining energy, her once flawless, youthful skin began to wither.
At fifty years old, Tsunade's youthful appearance and smooth complexion were maintained through the use of her S-rank jutsu, the Yin Seal. This technique also served as the prerequisite for activating another S-rank jutsu, the Creation Rebirth.
As she fell, an invisible force cushioned her descent, lowering her gently to the ground. Han Yu's figure appeared beside her in an instant.
Seeing her rapidly aging features, Han Yu couldn't help but marvel at the power of the Yin Seal.
"What an incredible jutsu. If I could get my hands on this and sell it, it would definitely be a hit with women everywhere," he mused. "Too bad only the most powerful shinobi can use it effectively."
An Anbu operative leapt in from the surrounding area. Seeing Han Yu holding Tsunade in his arms, the shinobi suppressed his doubts about Han Yu's identity and instead focused on his fallen leader.
"How is Lady Hokage? I'll call for the medical team immediately!"
The Anbu was about to summon the medics when Han Yu waved him off, kneeling to support Tsunade.
"From the looks of her, she's suffering from severe chakra and physical exhaustion. Standard medical treatments would take far too long. I'll handle this."
"You? What do you plan to do?"
The Anbu froze, hesitating. His reluctance to fetch the medics stemmed from the sheer awe Han Yu's earlier performance had inspired. Without realizing it, he found himself trusting Han Yu's judgment.
Han Yu freed one hand, his fingers lightly pinching together. Between his thumb and forefinger appeared a small, golden bean, shimmering with a radiant glow.
As soon as the bean emerged, a unique and pleasant aroma filled the air. Those nearby who inhaled even a trace of its fragrance were visibly astonished.
The reason was clear: as they breathed in the scent, injuries both internal and external began to heal at a noticeable rate.
"This is some incredible stuff," Han Yu chuckled. "I've refined this Senzu Bean. Not only does it heal injuries, but it also rejuvenates and enhances beauty. Eat one now, and even if you're bedridden, you'll be up dancing in no time!"
He ignored the puzzled looks exchanged among the Anbu members, gently pried open Tsunade's pale lips, and slipped the Senzu Bean into her mouth.
The bean dissolved instantly, transforming into a warm current that surged through Tsunade's body, revitalizing her internal organs. Her appearance began to recover at an astonishing speed. Her once dry, pale lips quickly regained a healthy, rosy hue and elasticity.
Tsunade's eyelids fluttered before she opened her eyes to see a handsome, smiling face above her. She realized she was cradled in his arms.
"Ah, I... What happened to me just now?"
Embarrassed, Tsunade wriggled free from Han Yu's arms and quickly stood up, a rare blush creeping onto her face.
"You collapsed from exhaustion earlier," Han Yu explained, still smiling. "But I gave you one of my divine beans. Check yourself—how do you feel now?"
It was then Tsunade noticed that the chakra she had depleted during the battle was fully restored to its peak state.
What shocked her even more was that her youthful appearance had been restored, despite not using her S-rank Yin Seal. Could this miraculous change be because of the bean Han Yu had given her?
Tsunade found herself momentarily flustered under Han Yu's faintly smiling gaze. Clearing her throat twice to regain composure, she called out, "Anbu, where are you?"
Her voice summoned several figures from the rubble. These individuals, wearing various animal-themed white masks, were members of Konoha's Anbu, the Hokage's elite corps.
"What are your orders, Lady Hokage?"
The Anbu operatives, seeing Tsunade's appearance, couldn't hide their astonishment.
Her youthful look wasn't like the temporary facade created by her Yin Seal; it was as if she had genuinely turned back the clock by twenty or thirty years. With her strikingly youthful face paired with her mature and alluring figure, her presence was overwhelming. Even women might find it hard to resist.
"Immediately assist the injured villagers with evacuation," Tsunade commanded, her tone steady and authoritative. "Conduct a thorough search of Konoha, account for casualties, and report back with updates."
Though she had been flustered earlier in Han Yu's presence, her demeanor now reflected the composed and decisive Fifth Hokage. In moments, she had issued several clear and precise orders.
The Anbu acknowledged her commands and dispersed into the ruins, swiftly beginning their tasks throughout the village.
Turning back to Han Yu, Tsunade's expression softened. "You've done us a great service. Konoha will not forget what you've done for us."
Her words carried sincerity, and with her youthful appearance restored, her every expression exuded an undeniable charm that made it nearly impossible to look away.
