Chapter 61: Chapter 61: The Soul Beast Continent
After listening to Tang San, Erina didn't show much reaction. She was stunned, unable to believe that she had awakened such an extraordinary martial soul. It was... just too lucky!
It took her a long while to snap back to reality. Forcing a calm demeanor, she said, "Really? That seems quite impressive."
Tang San sighed deeply in exasperation. If the children awakening their martial souls for the first time on Douluo Continent heard her dismissive remark, they'd probably spit out blood in frustration.
If this is only "quite impressive," then ordinary martial soul users might as well give up, lie down at home, and wait for death. Why bother awakening a martial soul at all?
"You're truly blessed, a genuine symbol of luck," Tang San said sincerely, patting Erina on the shoulder. "Little Erina, I didn't expect you to have this kind of potential."
Seeing that Erina had awakened the Six-Winged Angel martial soul, Han Yu seemed deep in thought. After a moment, he said, "Old Master Senzaemon, I need to take Erina on a trip. We may not return for ten days or so."
"Where to?" Erina asked curiously.
"To train, of course. You've awakened the Six-Winged Angel martial soul, and you're now at innate full soul power, directly reaching level 20. With every 10 levels, you can acquire a soul ring. Now, it's time for you to try and get two soul rings."
Han Yu had been planning to hunt a few soul beasts himself. After all, he too had obtained a powerful martial soul—the Clear Sky Hammer. Without soul rings, the hammer couldn't fully unleash its potential, rendering it little more than a tool for forging iron.
"Alright, that sounds exciting!" Erina exclaimed enthusiastically, her excitement evident as she waved her hands eagerly.
Han Yu said, "First, let's change into some appropriate clothes. Tang San's world has a more Western fashion sense. Wanda, take her to your room. I'll send over some outfits."
"Sure, come with me, Erina."
Wanda nodded with a smile, standing up to lead Erina upstairs.
Meanwhile, under Senzaemon's watchful instructions, Han Yu nodded repeatedly, listening to the usual advice: "Stay safe while you're out." Han Yu responded earnestly, promising to protect Erina until she grew stronger and ensuring no harm would come to her.
An hour passed, then another, as Erina tried on clothes upstairs. For the first time, Han Yu experienced what it was like to wait on a woman shopping.
A vivid mental image popped into his head: accompanying a woman to a clothing store, where she sees a dazzling array of options while the man sees only the lone chair in the middle of the shop.
Nearly two hours later, light footsteps echoed from the staircase. Han Yu and the others turned to look, and their eyes lit up in astonishment.
Descending slowly from the stairs, the young girl had shed her youthful school uniform and donned a white and light-blue robe. The well-fitted attire accentuated her impressive figure. With Erina's personal modifications, her slender, shapely legs drew attention, dazzling the onlookers. She looked like a celestial maiden stepping out of a painting, as poetic and picturesque as a dream.
"H-Hey! Why are you staring at me like that?"
Erina's face turned bright red under Han Yu's unabashed gaze. Feeling embarrassed, she spoke awkwardly.
Realizing his faux pas, Han Yu quickly averted his eyes and cleared his throat. "Sorry about that. I'll go change now. I got caught up chatting with your grandfather and completely forgot."
His changing speed was far quicker. Unlike Erina, Han Yu only took ten minutes. When he came downstairs, all the women in the room turned their attention to him, their eyes filled with admiration.
Han Yu's physique was well-maintained—lean but not overly thin, perfectly fitting his outfit. The long robe seemed tailor-made for him.
If Tang San's attire gave the impression of a refined gentleman, then Han Yu's outfit exuded the vibrant energy of a cheerful, sunny boy, appearing effortlessly charismatic.
Walking up to Erina, Han Yu straightened his clothes and turned in a small circle before her. "Well? How do I look? Not too weird, right?"
Han Yu's outfit was something Erina had never seen before. Her gaze flickered with interest, filled with admiration. When Han Yu turned to look at her, she quickly lowered her head, hiding the expression on her face. Little did she know, Han Yu had already caught it.
Hearing Han Yu's question, she turned her head slightly, letting out a soft hum through her nose and muttered vaguely, "It's alright, at least it makes you look human."
Han Yu chuckled. He was no stranger to Erina's tsundere personality. Though she always tried to appear aloof, he knew better than anyone else. Her words, which sounded like mockery, were actually full of approval.
Not wanting to linger on the topic, Han Yu pulled out a temporal scroll. With a casual pinch, he opened a space gate as tall as a person. Just as the two were about to step through, Ace and Xiao Yan stopped them. After exchanging a glance, Ace said, "Are you going to the Soul Beast Continent? We'd like to come along. Take us with you. We want to see the world Tang San is from."
Han Yu hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Alright, but you must not make a move without my permission. Understood?"
"Understood!"
With Han Yu's agreement, Ace and Xiao Yan cheered excitedly like kids who had just gotten their way.
Tang San, watching from the side, was speechless. He hadn't asked to tag along because of a rule in Han Yu's general store: no one was allowed to use the store to meet the version of themselves in their own world—whether from the past or the future.
So Tang San simply stood quietly on the sidelines, silently wishing them a good time.
Unable to hold back her excitement, Erina stepped through the space gate ahead of Han Yu.
"Take your time, everyone. I'll be off now!"
Han Yu called back to the others and followed Erina, with Xiao Yan and Ace close behind.
When they reappeared, they found themselves in a small alley bathed in warm sunlight. The bustling sounds of the surrounding area quickly filled their ears—lively chatter, the clang of blacksmiths, street vendors calling out their wares, and the hum of a busy crowd. It was a lively and vibrant scene that made Erina and the others curiously look around.
"So, this is the Soul Beast Continent? It looks pretty nice," Xiao Yan remarked, taking in the abundant spiritual energy of the area, which reminded him of the elemental energy back on the Flame Continent, though subtly different.
Ace, on the other hand, was running around with Erina, dashing to a jewelry stall one moment and a food stall the next, thoroughly enjoying himself.
"The sun is still high, so let's take some time to explore the town today. We can head to our destination tomorrow," Han Yu suggested.
Xiao Yan nodded in agreement. Opportunities to experience the culture of a different world didn't come often, and he quickly followed Ace and Erina. Though he appeared aloof, his curious gaze darted to various stalls selling items related to martial souls and soul beasts, clearly piquing his interest.
Throughout the walk, Han Yu explained the relationship between martial souls, soul rings, and soul power to Erina. Even Ace and Xiao Yan listened intently, occasionally asking questions to clarify their doubts.
By the time they had explored the entire town, the sun had already begun to set. The group decided to find an inn for the night, rest up, and set out the following morning.
