Marvel: Restart! Spiderman!

Chapter 30: Ch.30 Venom Mode

[Nano Spider Suit (Venom Upgraded Version)]

[Description: Added multiple artificial web modes, and integrated with symbiote cells. "Venom" mode can be activated, unlocking part of the symbiote's abilities with no side effects. Duration and attribute boost depend on the body's endurance.]

As Charlie Parker eyed the description of the new nano suit, he raised his hand to adjust the web-shooting mechanism.

The upgraded nano suit could utilize artificial web-shooters, and one of its newly added web modes was the "Explosive" mode, which he had just used to take down the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. In this mode, the web-shooter instantly releases all stored artificial web protein, indiscriminately targeting enemies within range. For a strength-type Spider-Man, this move was simple, brutal, and highly effective.

Charlie wasn't exactly a strength-type Spider-Man yet; his strength was only at the standard Spider-Man level. However, for handling regular people or weaker foes, it was more than enough.

As for the other web modes, Charlie was still exploring them.

The method for crafting artificial webs and web-shooters was stored in the nano suit's AI chip, allowing him to mass-produce them and replace the web-shooter on his wrist as needed.

Upon activating "Venom" mode, the symbiote's various abilities further enhanced Charlie's combat prowess.

Recalling the invincible power he had felt during the resurrection match when the symbiote had bonded with him, Charlie still felt a rush of excitement.

His base strength of 12 tons had skyrocketed to over 100 tons instantly—more than a tenfold increase. The boost was undoubtedly tempting.

The downside, however, was the loss of control over himself. Though the symbiote could make him stronger, it could also lead to unforeseen consequences.

If his powers faltered at a crucial moment, it could lead to disaster.

Although activating "Venom" mode didn't require him to worry about side effects this time, Charlie couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right.

Shaking his head, Charlie dismissed the thoughts.

Eleven resurrection matches had passed, meaning eleven days had gone by in the main world. He wondered how things were back home.

Uncle Ben and Aunt May must be worried sick.

This time, he didn't have Green Goblin to help "cover up" his absence.

As Charlie thought about this, he shot out a web and swung through the night sky, speeding toward Queens.

While passing Palma Street, there was a sudden loud bang from a nearby ATM.

Boom~

Beep, beep-

Suddenly, the alarm blared, and two masked individuals kicked over the damaged ATM, stuffing its cash into their bags without a care for the bystanders.

"Hurry up, we don't have much time before he shows up."

"What are you worried about? Those patrol officers already left. They won't get here in time."

"I'm talking about Spider-Man. He used to patrol this area a lot."

"He hasn't been seen in over ten days. Word is Stark blew him up. No need to worry."

"Last time, everyone thought Green Goblin had killed him, but who knows for sure?"

The two crooks worked skillfully, and before long, they had packed the cash into their bags.

Under the streetlight, a red-and-blue figure dangled upside down in midair.

"Hey, who told you I'm dead?" Charlie's voice suddenly interrupted them, causing the two robbers to freeze in place, just as they were about to leave.

"Crap! It's Spider-Man!"

"He's not dead after all."

"Run!"

"Nooo—"

As the two robbers yelled, they found themselves hanging upside down from the streetlight instead.

"Damn it, Spider-Man, let us go!" one of them cursed.

"Bruce, shut up! We should be begging for mercy!" the other hissed.

"I know."

"But your face still looks defiant."

"Born this way."

The two continued their pointless chatter, and Charlie crossed his arms, exasperated.

Now he understood what it felt like to deal with chatterboxes.

Smack!

He gave each of them a slap. "You still haven't answered my question—who said Stark killed Spider-Man?"

"We just heard it from some of our guys. They said Stark killed Spider-Man. Now everyone knows about it."

Charlie frowned. He had no connection with this world's Tony Stark, so there was no reason for Stark to want him dead.

After asking a few more questions, Charlie swung up to the rooftops, leaving the two robbers hanging from the streetlight.

With a clue in hand, it was time to figure out who had targeted him.

Soon, he arrived at Stark Tower.

At that moment, reporters had swarmed the building, crowding the entrance.

Clearly, they had just learned about the situation.

Whoosh~

Taking advantage of the chaos, Charlie leaped over their heads, using his hands and feet to swiftly scale the smooth glass facade.

Before long, he reached the rooftop.

This was Tony's private area, equipped with all sorts of entertainment facilities, including a luxurious infinity pool.

Normally, this place would be buzzing with parties, but now, it was eerily silent.

Thud~

Charlie landed softly, glancing around the pool area, his gaze locking onto a green hoverboard casually placed by the garden.

It was Norman's glider!

His brow furrowed as pieces began to fall into place.

"Hey, Spider-Man, turns out you're not dead after all," a voice called out.

Dressed in black tactical gear, Harry Osborn stepped out of the room, raising a glass of red wine in greeting.

"Care for a drink?" Harry asked with a smile.

Sizing up Harry, Charlie shrugged. "Sorry I couldn't protect your father's body."

Harry shook his head. "It doesn't matter anymore. It's better than it falling into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s hands."

He sat down by a lounge chair. "I'm glad you're still alive. Coulson told me you were brought back to life," Harry said, curiosity gleaming in his eyes.

Charlie sat by the pool, dipping his legs in the water.

"Yeah, something like that."

Harry sipped his wine. "That's quite the superpower you've got. I'm jealous."

Though he wore a faint smile, there was an undeniable bitterness in his expression.

Since his father's death, Harry had matured a lot. He was no longer the cheerful, carefree young man he once was.

"Let's talk business," Charlie suddenly said.

Harry's face grew serious. "Alright. I've joined S.H.I.E.L.D. They sent me to capture you. This is my first mission."

He gestured toward the glider. "I've recovered my father's gear from the lab. Though I haven't injected the genetic serum, I'm probably still a match for you."

Charlie lay back by the pool, arms behind his head, showing no signs of concern.

"So?"

Seeing Charlie's nonchalant demeanor, Harry chuckled. "You seem to know me well."

"Maybe. You spread the Stark rumor on purpose, didn't you? To wait for me here?"

Harry nodded. "Exactly. You're Spider-Man. You'll keep fighting the evil forces in this city. If the public knows, it means you'll know."

"You're pretty smart."

Charlie grinned. "So, what's your next move?"

Harry put down his wine glass and sat beside Charlie at the pool.

"For the sake of Osborn Industries, to keep my father's identity as the Green Goblin a secret, and to perfect the genetic serum, I agreed to join S.H.I.E.L.D.

"But that doesn't mean I'm betraying a friend. I just wanted to talk to you. I have no intention of being your enemy."

At Harry's words, Charlie's swinging legs paused.

"Friend?" He sat up and looked at Harry.

This guy was smart, but could he really be that smart?
