Soon, Nick's voice came through, "Hello, Dr. Ye. I just saw your impressive performance!"

"Thank you!" Ye Hai replied with a relaxed smile. "Does this mean my troubles have begun?"

"Yes, indeed. There is trouble," Nick chuckled, "General Stryker has reported this incident to Congress, and the elders are demanding that SHIELD take you into custody!"

Ye Hai paused for a moment and asked, "What about you and the president?"

Nick's face, typically grim, broke into a smile. "SHIELD operates with autonomy. If Dr. Ye is willing to join us, I can represent the president in rejecting General Stryker's unreasonable demands."

"Joining SHIELD is not an option. As I've said before, I can collaborate with you. Don't you want to create the super-soldier serum like Captain America? I can contribute to the research. I believe your agents at the Mutant Academy have informed you of my modifications to Cyclops and Quicksilver, so you won't doubt my genetic achievements, right?"

"Yes, your understanding of genetics is unparalleled on Earth. I formally invite you to join SHIELD's super-soldier research," Nick said politely, then added with a grin, "Let General Stryker go to hell; he unjustly attacked a good American citizen and should be brought before a military tribunal!"

Now, Ye Hai was considered a good citizen—profit can indeed resolve all conflicts!

After hanging up, Ye Hai disappeared into the night market of New York. The train station had long turned into a lockdown area, with the police maintaining tight control, while doctors and nurses rushed to save the injured. Citizens gathered outside the cordon, curious, while those with injured friends and family were distraught.

Ye Hai blended into the crowd and slowly moved toward the exit. Among the police, he spotted Mr. George, Gwen's father, who looked deeply worried. Today's tragedy would definitely give him a headache.

A towering figure caught Ye Hai's attention. He walked over and asked, "Logan, what are you doing here? Where's Little Rogue?"

Logan was accompanied by Phoenix, and Professor X was sitting in their car, but there was no sign of Little Rogue, making Ye Hai uneasy.

Logan wore a grim expression. "I'm sorry, Dr. Ye. I lost Little Rogue!"

"What?!" Ye Hai quickly asked, "What happened?"

Logan sighed, tugging at his messy hair, while Phoenix explained, "Well, Logan ran into Mystique disguised as me. He didn't notice and was taken away by her."

"What are we going to do now? If Little Rogue falls into Magneto's hands, her life will be in danger!" Ye Hai was deeply worried. "Professor, can you sense where Little Rogue and the others are?"
