42. Navigating Troubled Waters
Shiraori PoV:
Looking at the blond haired girl, I instinctively used the Evil Eye of Past Sight to find out everything. It had already become a habit in these situations. I was already becoming restless and the information I saw certainly was a shock. Bad news never disappoints.
Amora had accidentally infiltrated due to the mini world tree I planted on the 6th floor? I did not plant a world tree but a massive red flag! There is now some sort of connection between the mini world tree and the mega world tree.
This connection even caused the mega world tree to have some unknown fluctuations causing chaos in the nine realms. Apparently, Odin and his cronies along with everyone else in the Nine Realms are looking for the culprit.
Odin was even going to consult the fates. It is highly likely that Odin will know about Nazarick's existence in the near future and so will the nine realms. Perhaps even other pantheons will know of our existence soon much less the plethora of other enemies in the multiverse.
While the situation seemed grim, at the very least my backup plans are already in motion. If something happens, I can hop over to another timeline and just start over again.
Taking all of this into consideration, it was best to move forward with the assumption that the fates will reveal everything about me as well as Nazarick to Asgard while making future plans.
Now, what to do with Amora? I let Mobius and his gang go because he was already under mind control. But, Amora was a powerful sorceress. If she returned to Asgard, she might be able to get rid of the mind control. She specializes in mind control after all.
Not to mention, Odin and his followers will definitely detect something wrong with her. Maybe Frigga might detect something wrong.
I can't just kill or confine her either. Heimdall must have already detected Amora disappearing somewhere and the fates might also mention something about her.
If she escapes my control, it would then only be a matter of time before everyone will surely know about Nazarick and a chain of troubles will follow soon after.
In conclusion, I am caught between a rock and a hard place. I can't make any plans without knowing what information the other parties have.
All my options are equally unpleasant. While I just want to kill and be done with it, I just can't. Perhaps the only way to approach this is to manipulate her and bring her to my side without mind control.
Not very reassuring, but that is what I have to do. I can see that while she has been defeated by Shalltear and curbed any physical resistance, she is definitely plotting something. As a cunning sorceress, that is part of her nature.
If an Asgardian gave up so quickly, it would be pretty damn suspicious. They are a warrior race after all. Even if Amora regularly fights Asgard in the future, she still identifies herself to be an Asgardian.
There will be no point talking to her as she is now. Better to break down any and all resistance before continuing with this discussion. Not like I can give her a slice of cake and expect her to lose all hostilities, betray Asgard, and join my side.
By then perhaps, I will have more information about what Asgard knows or does not know and I can change my plans. I might not have to go through with this cumbersome and risky process. I might just be able to kill her or control her directly then.
As soon as Amora was caught, I already had multiple other goals to accomplish using her in my mind. Well, discussing them now will be pointless. Let's leave it to the expert to break down her will first. And by that, I of course mean little Demi.
I sent a message to him: 'Demiurge, break down any and all resistance she has. I don't care how you do it as long as she is in one piece and physically intact. We will then manipulate her to our side. Dammit, I just want to kill her to make my life easy but there will be complications.'
I might have let some of my frustrations out but Demiurge was of course very pleased. This was a job he loved after all. And perhaps he thought, he could have sweet revenge against the intruder who disgraced him. I can read these guardians like the back of my palm, I thought smugly.
Anyway, as Demiurge signalled Sebas, the butler came and picked up the enchantress to take her to her new destination. Possibly the 7th floor? I don't know. As I said, I don't care how he did it. I only cared about the results.
Results were always the only thing that mattered in all cases. As long as I got the required results, I did not care if planets or timelines were wiped out as already evidenced by my plans. 'I wonder when I lost my morality.' I thought.
Meh, who cares about that crap. Anything that caused me trouble had to be curbed by any means. I turned towards Mare and typed:
'Amora was able to enter Nazarick due to the mini world tree on the 6th floor as it formed a connection with the Norse Yggdrasill. This will have to be studied in depth. As I said earlier, this fiasco is due to my oversight. If I had taken the mini world tree into account perhaps this could have been prevented.
Mare you will continue being in charge of the world tree. Back in our old universe, the leaves of the world tree were the world items. If this tree could keep creating more leaves, perhaps we can farm world items in an unlimited amount.'
"Y-yes, my lady," Mare replied.
It can also serve as a portal to the other realms. Maybe an energy source? Maybe we can get direct control of Asgard. The possibilities are limitless. For now, I have sealed it up completely so that some other unlucky person does not waltz into Nazarick. I then turned to Albedo:
'Revise the plan for creating time sanctuaries. There will now be an additional component. Send forces to known large-scale apocalypses and disasters. Gather the people who are destined to die in those disasters and revive them as undead.
No one will notice even if they disappear. This way we can ensure a stable supply of undead by using these apocalypses as 'dead body factories.' Our forces will eventually grow to an unfathomable number.'
In truth, most of them would be low-level undead if we just picked up any old disaster. We will need an apocalypse where people with stronger bodies die so we can farm them in an infinite loop.
Ultimately, every little bit counts after all. Maybe we can farm them from apocalypses on other planets?
"Yes, I will definitely finish this, my lady," Albedo replied with firm determination likely to wash away this whole error. She won't listen even if I tell her not to worry about it anyway.
I finally turned towards Shalltear and spoke to her:
'Shalltear, you have done very well in this battle.'
"I don't deserve such praise," Shalltear replied, but I could see her lips twitching with joy.
'Hmm, I will give you a reward later. For now, I have a mission for you. I want you to go around the world and clandestinely convert living beings into vampires. You can even hunt down the other vampires in this world and bring them under your control.
Maybe we can create a vampire nation in the future much like Count Dracula did. Communicate with Albedo and Demiurge on every aspect that needs to be considered to accomplish this. Try to be as secretive as possible.'
"I will create the greatest vampire nation in the multiverse." Shalltear declared with confidence.
I commanded her to enact an idea I had been thinking about for a while now. Using all these independent operations, given enough time, I can create a force much larger than anyone else.
Time was something I had plenty of, at least until I found out about what was going on in Asgard. Some plans had to be speeded up. Preparations had to be made in case we had to fight a war.
After all the chaos I had caused, not just in this timeline but everywhere, they will definitely not be receptive to this sudden unknown enemy they have encountered.
While villains do win in quite a few stories, the authors who created Marvel ultimately want good to triumph in most cases after all. They can easily turn any bad ending into a good ending.
In reality, this may play out like some sort of reality warping, shifting reality to always be more towards the positive side. Considering this I declared:
'It's possible that Asgard, the Nine Realms, and potentially other adversaries have already become aware of our existence or will do so in the near future. Consequently, we must remain vigilant and ready ourselves for potential conflicts on the horizon.
While these events are completely uncertain, we cannot afford to be unprepared any longer. It is imperative that we take proactive measures. In the event that they are indeed plotting hostilities against us, we must consider a pre-emptive strike.
Odin is scheduled to enter his Odinsleep in a few months. This may present an opportune moment for our invasion of Asgard. Make plans with this in mind.'
Hopefully, I won't have to do anything at all, but this world loves throwing headaches at me. I have no choice but to be prepared for wars in the future.
I will somehow crush Asgard before they cause problems for me if they do indeed find out about me. My spider-sense is tingling to indicate that we won't be getting along but I will confirm all details first before taking action anyway...
My thoughts drowned under the cheers of NPCs.
