Marvel: Starting As Hokage

Chapter 11: Chapter 11 - The Black Widow Arrives (2/4)

The progress of the performance had increased from the previous 25% to the current 28%, an increase of 3% in progress!

Sure enough, getting paid for completing the client's tasks could increase the performance progress!

Although only 3% had been added, it was enough to prove that Ethan's thinking was correct!

Ethan was overjoyed. The strawberry-flavored lollipop in his mouth seemed even sweeter now.

Looking up at Little Peter's surprised face, Ethan decided to perform well in front of the future Spider-Man.

Having tasted success, he naturally wanted more.

Ethan also wanted to receive a task from Peter Parker. For that to happen, he needed Peter to recognize his strength.

If even Peter himself didn't believe that Ethan possessed great power, how could he entrust Ethan with a task capable of increasing his performance progress?

That said, it seemed that the difficulty of a task directly influenced the amount of progress gained in the end.

Completing his predecessor's obsession had earned him 10% progress, but the task with Peter only granted him 3%. The difference was clear: one involved fighting formidable opponents like Abomination and the Hulk, while the other was merely against an ordinary thug.

The disparity in task difficulty naturally resulted in a significant gap in progress.

"If that's the case," Ethan mused, "I'll need to start taking on more challenging tasks in the future."

As these thoughts swirled in his mind, Ethan's actions didn't stop.

He retrieved a few three-pronged kunai from his ninja pouch and threw them toward the spots where some people were hiding nearby.

Ethan planned to use these individuals to showcase his strength to Peter Parker.

After all, these were not innocent bystanders. They had dared to hide and spectate. Ethan felt justified in teaching them a lesson.

Life is about living with a clear conscience.

You may deceive others, but you can never deceive yourself.

And so, Ethan decided to act on his convictions.

Of course, if he could help others while becoming stronger, all the better!

With the Mark of the Flying Thunder God, Ethan unleashed a series of attacks. Like the Fourth Hokage, he teleported from one target to another, subduing the onlookers with a swift punch or kick before tossing them into the center of the street.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

At this moment, the thugs finally understood the fear and helplessness they had inflicted on others.

They were silenced, filled with shame and regret.

Even Peter Parker was left stunned by Ethan's overwhelming strength.

Suddenly, someone in a nearby shop recognized Ethan.

"Oh! Isn't that the superhero from the number one video trending on YouTube?"

"What?! Really?"

Others hurriedly pulled out their phones to verify.

"My goodness! It's the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, from Konoha Village!"

"What's someone this powerful doing in Hell's Kitchen? Is he here to clean up this area?!"

Ethan's ears perked up at the comment. Cleaning up Hell's Kitchen... If that became a task, the difficulty would surely be immense!

He cast a grateful glance at the person who had spoken and began seriously considering the feasibility of such a challenge.

The thugs lying on the ground, including Bald John, also retrieved their phones to look up Ethan's identity.

When they saw footage of Ethan, disguised as Minato Namikaze, defeating Abomination and fighting the Hulk, they were awestruck.

The sheer power and skill displayed in the video left them speechless.

They exchanged regretful glances, silently berating themselves.

"Why didn't we look him up earlier?"

"If we'd known he was this strong, we wouldn't have dared to provoke him!"

Their regret was palpable.

"Why would someone this powerful pretend to be an ordinary bystander? Who even does this in 2024?!"

Despite their inner complaints, none of them dared to move. The fear of death kept them pinned to the ground.

Even Bald John, whose hand had been severed by Ethan, didn't dare to outwardly express his anger. Though he silently cursed Ethan, the overwhelming fear of death suppressed his hatred.

At this moment, a sleek sports car came to a stop outside Hell's Kitchen.

A stunning woman dressed in a black bodysuit stepped out.

Her figure was captivating, with curves in all the right places. Her wavy brown hair swayed gently as she walked, exuding confidence and allure.

She was Natasha Romanov—the Black Widow.

An elite agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a future member of the Avengers.

As Natasha walked, she touched her earpiece.

"I've gathered all the information," she said calmly. "I'll proceed cautiously when I contact him."

She paused before suggesting, "But are you sure we shouldn't send backup? It might be safer."

The gruff voice of a one-eyed man replied through her earpiece, dismissing her concern.

"Natasha, for someone this powerful, numbers won't make a difference."
