Marvel's King Godzilla

Chapter 1: Birth

Nightfall

In the middle of the 20th century, 1954, the ninth year after the end of World War II, a series of inexplicable events began to unfold in the western North Pacific.

The Mariana Trench, the deepest known point in the world's oceans, was already a place of mystery. But at its bottommost layers, something unprecedented began to happen. Cracks, at first only a few hundred meters long, suddenly spread, eventually spanning several kilometers. From these chasms emanated an eerie blue light that pulsed like a heartbeat, accompanied by a deadly, invisible radiation that seeped into the surrounding waters.

Marine life stood no chance. Fish and other sea creatures succumbed within minutes, their agonized death throes casting a grim tableau of what was to come. The poison was indiscriminate and swift, spreading like wildfire through the once-thriving ecosystem.

Above the abyss, about two or three kilometers from the cracks, a battle raged between two giants of the deep. A massive sperm whale, over 20 meters in length, fought ferociously with a colossal king squid. The whale's mighty jaws clamped down on the squid's trunk, but the squid retaliated, wrapping its noose-like tentacles around the whale's body and blowhole. It became a deadly contest of endurance—one would drown, or the other would be torn apart.

Their struggle, fierce and relentless, carried them downward, closer to the mysterious fissures. But as they approached, an overwhelming force seemed to grip them. The sperm whale released the squid and fled, its movements frantic with terror. The giant squid, forgetting its battle entirely, bolted in another direction, each tentacle undulating in a desperate bid for escape.

From the trench emerged a creature unlike anything seen before. Its body was over a hundred meters long, glowing faintly with an unnatural blue hue. Its grotesque, three-petaled mouth snapped open, revealing rows of jagged teeth. With horrifying precision, it lunged at the fleeing squid, biting it cleanly in half. Blood and torn tentacles spilled into the water as the monster chewed methodically, its maw grinding with a sickening crunch.

A deep, resonating growl escaped the creature, echoing through the trench. The sound was neither entirely organic nor mechanical, but it carried a primal force that made the waters tremble. When the beast had eaten its fill, it descended back into the abyss, vanishing into the darkness as if it had never been.

Luo Chen "watched" this scene unfold in horror.

His consciousness was suspended in a strange limbo, engulfed by the endless darkness of the deep sea. When he regained his senses, a wave of disorientation and primal fear washed over him. Instinctively, he thrashed his body—a body that felt alien, weak, and unresponsive.

He didn't see the creature; instead, he sensed it through faint vibrations in the water, a subtle yet overwhelming presence that eclipsed everything else. Fear coursed through him, urging him to flee.

After what felt like an eternity, Luo Chen managed to calm himself. He realized his new body was small and frail, his movements sluggish and awkward. He nestled into a crevice on the ocean floor, surrounded by fossil-like debris and peculiar, eggshell-shaped stones. The silence was oppressive, broken only by distant, unidentifiable sounds that sent chills through him.

A faint glow caught his attention. A strange, fluorescent creature drifted nearby, its light casting ghostly shadows across the seabed. Luo Chen observed the creature's form: a tadpole-like body with a thin, trailing tail, a small mouth lined with fine teeth, and no eyes or fins.

It didn't take long for him to understand the truth. He had been reincarnated—or perhaps transformed—into a primitive deep-sea organism.

People often romanticize the ideas of reincarnation or time travel, imagining them as fresh starts or grand adventures. But no one envisions returning as a low-level sea creature with barely developed senses or limbs.

Luo Chen's despair was interrupted by a sudden, disembodied voice that resonated within his mind:

『Physical status test complete: Extremely weak. Please consume nutrients to initiate evolution.』

Before he could process the words, a glowing interface materialized in his mind:

Host: Luo Chen (Godzilla)

Form: Juvenile

Height: 0.1 meters

Weight: 250 grams

Attack Method: None

Evolution Method: Devouring lifeforms; directly or indirectly ingesting radioactive materials.

The realization hit him like a tidal wave. He was no longer human. He was now something else entirely—a creature starting at the bottom of the food chain.

But a glimmer of determination replaced his initial panic. Better to survive and evolve than succumb to despair. He had potential, a chance to grow into something extraordinary.

Summoning his strength, Luo Chen began to move, propelling himself clumsily through the water. He targeted a fragment of the giant squid's flesh that had settled nearby. Other small creatures like him had already begun feasting on the remnants, but he managed to secure a piece for himself. He dragged it back to his makeshift hideaway, biting into it with his primitive teeth.

『Consuming bioenergy…』

The sensation was overwhelming. Warmth spread through his body as he absorbed the nutrients, a stark contrast to the cold, hostile environment around him. For the first time, he felt something akin to hope.

Exhaustion soon overcame him. Luo Chen buried himself in the sandy seabed, ensuring some measure of safety before succumbing to sleep.

In his dreams, he envisioned himself growing larger and more powerful, devouring everything in his path. He saw himself rising from the ocean to dominate the land, his massive form striking terror into humanity. He dreamed of unleashing a devastating blue breath, obliterating all opposition, and reshaping the world.

Dreams may be fleeting, but they often carry echoes of the future. Luo Chen's path was uncertain, but one thing was clear: he was no ordinary deep-sea creature.

Unbeknownst to him, he had begun his journey toward becoming the legendary Godzilla—a godlike force destined to reshape the planet's balance of power.
