MHA: A Villain's Playground

Chapter 3: Chapter 2: Chrono-Lock

The class fell silent, the jovial mood that had existed moments ago evaporating instantly under Aizawa's cold demeanour.

Aizawa tossed a softball to Bakugo. "You came in first during the entrance exam. Step up. Use your Quirk to throw this ball as far as you can."

Bakugo grinned, cracking his knuckles. "Let me show you how it's done!"

With a loud boom, the ball shot through the air, propelled by Bakugo's fiery explosion. The class watched in awe as it flew for over 700 meters.

Aizawa looked at his device, uninterested. "705.2 meters."

The students gasped in shock and admiration.

"WHOA!" Mina Ashido exclaimed, clapping her hands. "Bakugo's got power to spare, huh?"

"That's awesome!" Kaminari added, still staring in amazement.

Aizawa turned to the class, his expression flat. "This is the essence of being a hero. It's not about how flashy your Quirk is—it's about how effectively you can use it. Now, everyone gets a turn."

One by one, the students demonstrated their Quirks.

When it was Aomine's turn he walked up under the curious gazes of his classmates and bowed in front of Aizawa.

"My Quirk is of no help in this test. I'd like to forfeit."

Aizawa's eyes twitched with a hint of anger but he said nothing and nodded. "0 meters." He muttered and wrote it in his notebook.

Aomine glanced at the notebook and returned to his classmates under their confused eyes.

"Hey man, you could've at least tried!" The redhead, Eijiro Kirishima spoke with enthusiasm, "That's how a real man acts! Never give up!" He flexed his bicep.

Aomine smiled and made some small talk. He told Kirishima his quirk and ironically, Kirishima who could harden himself, stiffened upon hearing the details of Aomine's quirk.

This little conversation drew the eyes of others but because Aomine wasn't speaking loudly most didn't get what happened.

Then it was Izuku's turn. His palms were sweaty as Aizawa tossed him the softball.

"Midoriya," Aizawa called. "Come."

Izuku's heart raced. This was it—the moment to prove himself. But how could he? His Quirk was still uncontrollable. If he used too much power, he'd shatter his arm again.

Think, Deku... think!

Izuku gripped the ball tightly, recalling All Might's words: "Control your heart. Focus your power in a single point." He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and focused.

Just as he raised his arm, a chill ran down his spine. He froze. His Quirk was gone.

Aizawa's eyes glowed red. "If Self-Harm is what it takes for your Quirk to work then you better quit right now."

Izuku's body went rigid. His power had been erased. Aizawa's Quirk, Erasure, disabled his ability to use One For All.

"Your reckless attitude will get you or someone else killed. I won't have it in my class," Aizawa continued, his voice firm but not unkind.

Izuku's stomach sank. He wanted to protest, to explain, but no words came. He clenched his fists in frustration, feeling the weight of his own inadequacy.

Aizawa finally released his Quirk. "Find a way to show me what you're capable of without destroying yourself."

Izuku closed his eyes again, exhaled, and focused. This time, he focused all his energy on just one finger, using only a fraction of One For All. He raised his arm and threw the ball with all his might.

"SMASH!"

Aomine cringed.

The ball soared high into the air, disappearing from sight. Aizawa's device beeped, and the results appeared: "705.3 meters."

The class murmured in disbelief.

"He did it!" Uraraka cheered, clapping excitedly.

Even Bakugo, who usually scoffed at everyone, was left speechless.

"Not bad," Aizawa muttered, his face unreadable. But there was a faint glimmer of approval in his eyes.

The test continued.

Shoto Todoroki used his ice to glide effortlessly across the 50-meter dash, Tenya Iida sprinted with his engine-powered legs, Tsuyu Asui leapt easily over the high jump bar, and Momo Yaoyorozu created a pole to vault over the bar.

As the test concluded, Aizawa gathered the class together. "Good effort, but let me make one thing clear. As a Hero your utmost priority is to give it your all, giving up on challenges is a surefire way to ensure you won't be a Hero for long."

Aizawa glanced at Aomine and Aomine smiled back.

He had forfeited every single test. His body was no different from his original one. Slightly trained but no athleticism. It was a foolish endeavour to participate in the test.

Some might argue that a volatile person like Aizawa shouldn't be angered or provoked like this as he might really expel him but after learning about his officially recorded Quirk Aomine knew U.A would in no way ever expel or let him out of sight.

"Now that's all, we're heading back to class." Aizawa appeared unmotivated as he led them back the way they came from.

Aomine found it funny that Aizawa didn't pull his 'last place will be expelled' card. Unless Aizawa wanted everyone to know he was being treated specially he wouldn't do that. Since he had forfeited everything he would be the one in last place.

While he was musing over these thoughts a curious voice called out to him.

"Aomine-kun," it was the frog girl, Tsuyu.

"Yeah?"

"What's your Quirk? I'm curious since you forfeited all the tests." A few students' ears perked at that. Quirks were a major part of their life and having a classmate who they knew nothing about was too intriguing.

"You're that curious?"

"Yeah!" Tsuyu nodded her cute head and Aomine smiled.

"I'll show you then, that would be easier."

"It's going to be something retarded anyway," Bakugo feigned disinterest and scoffed but didn't leave, betraying his words.

"Hey! Don't say that! What if his Quirk is super cool or something?" Eijiro defended Aomine.

By now Class 1-A were gathered in a circle and Aizawa felt a headache coming up. He couldn't help but curse Nezu and his stupid luck. Why did he have to place this time bomb in his class?

But Aizawa was only complaining half-heartedly. He knew there was no choice, only someone with a Quirk Eraser like him could subdue those with extremely dangerous Quirks.

"Tsuyu, look at me," Aomine said and Tsuyu hesitated.

"You're not going to do something weird are you?" She asked bluntly and a wry smile broke out on his face.

"No,"

"Alright."

Seeing Tsuyu stare into his eyes, Aomine was curious himself. This was the first time he was going to do something 'magical'. It was his first taste of power, kind of thing.

He activated his ability.

As his power surged to life, his eyes ignited with an otherworldly brilliance. The sclera darkened to a deep emerald, shadows rippling across its surface like liquid night.

Where his iris once resided, a clock face emerged, ancient and intricate, its edges glowing with a green luminescence that seemed to pulse in time with his heartbeat.

The hands of the clock spun wildly, their movements impossibly smooth, before freezing at an ominous angle, as though they had captured the exact moment time ceased to flow.

Tsuyu seemed to understand something and wanted to look away but it was too late. She felt herself lose control over her body. From her peripheral vision, she could see everyone looking at Aomine with amazement and herself with confusion.

Tsuyu didn't know how to describe her current state, it was as if she no longer existed physically, it was as if her soul was 'trapped' in her own body.

She couldn't blink, she couldn't move, she couldn't speak.

For Tsuyu… time had frozen.

But this special state only lasted for a few seconds before a loud shout cut through the curious atmosphere.

"Enough!"

Aizawa's eyes glowed red as he glared at Aomine with anger.
