MHA : Chronos

Chapter 7: Butterflies [rewritten]

Izuku was in front of the main gate of U.A. He timidly looked around as he walked inside, all the other kids came to the school with their friends yet he was alone.

However, he quickly composed himself. 'The key to confidence is... confidence?' He thought as he pondered to himself. Unknowingly, he walked, not understanding that there was a stone in front of him, lying on the ground.

Trip. 'Oh shit, Time Stop!' he thought as time came to a standstill. He landed hard on the ground, quickly scrambling to his feet and brushing himself off, his face flushing with embarrassment. As he turned back, he saw Ochaco reaching out to him, her motion frozen in time.

'Cute...' He thought looking at her, blushing. He shook his head as he resumed time. 'Ahh shit. My heart's pounding.' He thought, clutching his chest.

'Young mortal, perhaps you are interested in wooing this girl? Do you want me to give you any advice? Trust me. I had a beautiful wife back in my world, although she and her sons came to stab me in the back. That bitch.' Chronos said, malicious intent evident in his tone.

'Thank you for the offer but no, Chronos. Let me do this on my own.' Izuku replied.

'So, you're confessing your interest in her, then?' Chronos said with a playful jab at Izuku, causing him to flush with embarrassment. 'Just drop it, Chronos,' Izuku retorted, his tone stern.

"Midoriya, did you teleport- I mean stop time again?" Ochaco asked, a bright smile plastered onto her face.

"Yes, I almost lost my balance there. Ochaco, right?" Izuku said, running a hand through his hair as he took a deep breath, his stomach fluttering with nervousness.

"Aren't you excited? Today's our first day!" She exclaimed, excited for the day. Izuku giggled as he walked along with her.

Izuku flashed a sheepish grin, his heart skipping a beat. "You're really optimistic, aren't you?" he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'm excited too - I heard All Might will be our instructor." He nodded towards Ochaco, inviting her closer. "He told me himself," he whispered, his eyes locked on hers. Ochaco's eyes widened in surprise, and she leaned in, eager to hear more. "Really? How did you meet him?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.

"I'll tell you about it later," Izuku said, a little sheepishly. "It's... a bit of a long story."

Ochaco raised an eyebrow but didn't press the issue, her smile never wavering. "Alright, well, I can't wait to hear it."

They walked side by side through the gates, passing other students who were chatting excitedly, and entered the building.

They quickly made their way through the first floor to find their classroom, and to their relief, they found it. As Izuku and Ochaco entered the classroom, Izuku's gaze fell on a small sleeping bag tucked away in the corner. The large, open space was a welcome surprise, given the relatively small number of sections in the hero course - it was even bigger than he had imagined.

"Attention students, I'm Shoto Aizawa, your homeroom teacher. For the next three years, you will follow my instructions without question. If I deem you unfit to become a hero, you will be expelled. There will be no orientation or introduction. Instead, you will proceed directly to a quirk assessment test. Please report to the locker room at the end of the hallway to collect your designated school uniforms. Your lockers are also located there. Please arrive promptly."

With the announcement concluded, Shoto Aizawa departed the room, leaving the students in a state of confusion. However, they quickly regained their composure and filed out of the classroom. As a result, only two students remained: Izuku and Bakugo.

"Izuku, you're in my section," Bakugo said, his tone dismissive. "Don't make me look bad with a poor performance." With that, he departed, leaving Izuku alone. Moments later, Izuku headed to the locker room.

As Izuku entered the locker room, his eyes widened at the diverse group of students in Class 1-A. His first impression was that 'variety' might be an understatement.

There was the red-haired guy, all shredded with muscle. Next to him, was a half-red-haired-half-white-haired guy. Then, a guy with a tail.

The guy wrapped in tape looked like he was a martial artist, his movements surprisingly fluid. Izuku noticed a guy with the sharpest jawline he had ever seen, he had been shying away himself at the corner of the room. There was a guy with engines for legs.

A huge guy was sitting near a pile of candy, constantly eating what looked like an endless supply of sugar, his presence as large as his appetite. Another guy, blonde and brash, seemed to be already annoyed at something, though Izuku wasn't sure what.

Then there was the guy with a belt—Izuku wasn't entirely sure what his quirk was, but the belt was interesting, maybe something more than fashion? There was a short guy with purple balls on his head, who seemed to be minding his own business but radiated an odd aura. A guy with six arms was another sight to behold, and Izuku couldn't help but stare at him, amazed at the utility his quirk could offer.

But perhaps the most familiar face was Bakugo.

He went to his locker and opened it.

Izuku had just finished changing into his uniform when the red-haired guy, Kirishima, made his approach with a grin.

"Dude, you are more ripped than me!" Kirishima said, his tone full of admiration. "By the way, my name's Kirishima. I saw you, you were the guy who tore that giant-ass mountain to shreds in the entrance exam, right?"

Izuku blinked. "Ah, yeah, that was me," he said, scratching the back of his head. "I'm Izuku. Nice to meet you."

"You work out a lot?" Kirishima asked, scanning Izuku's muscular physique.

"I do," Izuku admitted.

Kirishima nodded in approval. "Yeah, I can tell! Respect, man. You've got a killer build, and you're already showing you're strong in battle, too." His energy was infectious, and Izuku couldn't help but smile.

Izuku noticed something odd—a small, purple ball poking through the hole between the boys' and girls' locker rooms. It was attached to the head of the guy he'd noticed earlier, the one with the purple balls on his head. The guy seemed to be peeking curiously into the girls' locker room, clearly trying to catch a glimpse.

Izuku's eyes widened in realization, and before he could think twice, he rushed over and grabbed the guy by the back of his uniform. "Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" he hissed, yanking him away from the hole.

The purple-haired guy blinked in surprise. "Wha—? Hey, wait a minute, I wasn't—!" His protests were cut off as Izuku dragged him away from the hole, trying to keep him from causing any more trouble.

"Don't go peeking like that!" Izuku scolded, more embarrassed than angry. 'Especially with Ochaco inside...' He wasn't used to dealing with things like this, especially with the locker room so close to the girls' side. His heart was racing from the awkwardness of the situation.

Kirishima watched with confusion. "Woah, hold on, man," he said with a grin, "what's going on here? You sure you're not just a little... possessive?" he joked.

Izuku's face turned red. "I'm not... I just... it's not right to do that!" He looked back at the purple-haired guy. "I'm not sure what your deal is, but you can't just peek like that!"

The guy finally seemed to snap back to reality. "Ah, man, sorry, I didn't mean to—" He scratched the back of his head awkwardly, clearly embarrassed. "My bad. Didn't think anyone would catch me."

Izuku sighed in relief. "Just... don't do it again, alright?"

"Right, right, no problem," the purple-haired guy said, sheepishly rubbing off his saliva. "By the way, I'm Mineta. Sorry again!"

After that, the man with the engine approached Izuku, "Hello, I'm Tenya Iida. It's nice to meet you. I initially thought you were reckless for running towards the robot, but you demonstrated a surprising level of knowledge about the exam, and your bravery set a great example for me."

"I'm touched, thank you. My name is Izuku, and I'm glad to be making a good impression here," he said. "We better get going now, Shoto sir would be mad if we were late.
