MHA: Sage Mode

"I AM COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!" All Might yelled as he entered the classroom.

We are finally going to have some real combat exercises. I don't really get why UA has so much practical stuff in their curriculum. This is supposed to be a hero course, not your average high school. There are only a few courses where it feels like I am truly in a world full of supernaturals.

We started heading out to the changing room to gear into our costumes. Speaking of costumes, I designed a rather unique one.

I have the white cape of Minato swirling at my back with "Hope" written on it. It wouldn't make sense to just straight-up copy Minato and put "Fourth Hokage" on it, right?

Moving on, I also added Anbu-style black sweats with similar sandles and black upper layers. It's made of strong fibre to prevent burning and easy to move around.

"Hey, you have a nice body there, kuro." Kirishima chimed in.

"Yeah, I have been training to become a hero from way back. It kinda got built up from there."

From the corner of my eyes, I could see Mineta closing in on the wall with a hole which was connected to the other side of the changing room.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," I said, locking eyes with Mineta.

"Come on, this is every boy's high school dream. Our predecessors left this hole as an ancient relic to be passed on and used by their juniors." Mineta said with saliva coming out from his mouth.

"If you are so eager, just go on the internet for that, you don't want our classmates to be uncomfortable by our presence. You would want for them to feel safe. We are all trying to be heros. You will have to put aside your personal urges if you want to be professional."

I was genuinely concerned about how this ball guy was able to become a professional hero with that nature of his. I have always been professional when it comes to my job. No matter how beautiful the other person is, I wouldn't entertain any thoughts that would make the other person uncomfortable when I am on the job. There needs to be a fine line between your personal life and your job.

That guy still didn't listen to me. It felt like he heard it from one ear and took it all out from the other. He got hit in the eye by Jiro before he could see anything.

Everyone came outside after changing into their hero costumes.

"Nice costume, Kuro. You look like one of those assassins." Mina came forward giving me a bump.

"It's a ninja outfit, kinda similar to assassins," I replied.

We all headed towards the monitoring room after All Mights's signal.

A lot of stuff happened exactly like the cannon. Except Izuku put up a good fight against Bakugo this time. He fought head-on without running away. And defeated him fair and square. That was so satisfying. Even though I have a lot of respect for future Bakugo, the current one needs a good beating for sure.

It was finally my turn. I was paired up with Hagakure to fight against Shoji and Todoroki.

"Well… this is interesting." I moved along with Hagakure to the site.

"Let me explain some things about my quirk before the round start. So my quirk lets me manipulate an energy that can enhance my stats, heal people, and do a lot of other stuff."

"That's amazing, your quirk is very versatile. Mine just let's me be invisible." Hagakure said with a slight shift in her tone.

"Don't feel down, your quirk has it's own charm," I gave her a small smile.

"Compared to yours, I won't be much of a help." She said softly.

"We can formulate a plan to intercept them with both of our quirks. I can feel your presence even if you are invisible, so team coordination shouldn't be much of a problem." I reassured her.

I wonder if I can see her too. If I just put some chakra into my eyes then maybe something might change?

I slowly started channeling sage energy into my eyes. A small hue started to form infront of me. An image of what looked like a girl came into my mind. It slowly became clearer; I could see her. I could do more than what I had imagined.

She…. she looked like the first morning breeze that falls on my face. It felt like I was in the countryside standing in front of a river with mountains in view. Her hair had the green tone that related to sitting in a field watching the clouds.

I was overwhelmed. No words came out of my mouth. I stood still for a good minute. She was staring at me. Our eyes locked. She could feel that I could see her.

She had those bubbly cheeks and soft eye lashes. The air around her seemed to be celebrating for being in her presence. I felt like I could look at her all day long and wouldn't be bored. She looked so cheerful and happy.

"And…. start!" All Might's voice brought me out of my daydream.

The bulding started freezing up. Todoroki's ice enveloped the entire building. It made our feets stuck. I easily broke out of it without any pressure. Hagakure seemed to be frozen in a place.

I came closer to her and slowly took off her gloves.

"This will help you." I slowly holded her hands and used my quirk to circulate heat around her body.

I didn't want her to feel pain in any way. A sense of protective feeling started building up inside of me.

Toru looked anxious, "Thank you, for you help Kuro. I didn't even see when the attack happened."

"It's Todoroki's quirk. His quirk allows him control fire and ice." I held out her palm and put my hand downwards on her hand.

Channeling some sage chakra into her hand, I made a stable rasengan from her hand. I used the perfect amount of chakra she could handle, which wouldn't go out of control. Naruto was able to pass on his rasengan to everyone on the war arc and he could enlarge Boruto's rasengan. So I couldn't see how mine wouldn't work on Hagakure.

"This is my rasengan. I want you to use it to protect yourself in case another attack happens. Please wait near the bomb. I will go and intercept Todoroki while you wait for Shoji to come up. Use this to take him down. With this plan, you will be able to contribute a lot for the team." I slowly explained for her to understand. I didn't even realized she was naked all this time. She was just so adorable that I didn't even have any impure thoughts.

She asked me some questions about the rasengan. I happily told her it's applications. After placing her in the best hidding spot, I started moving down.

Activating Sage Mode, I could clearly see where both of them were. I could have taken both of them together, but since this is supposed to be an assement, I wanted Hagakure to have some achievements too.

"Rasendan"

I fired a small bullet-size rasengan towards Shoji, making his ear fall off.

"Sorry, All Might. I can't let Shoji hear where Hagakure is coming from. It would be hard for her if he had his hearing aid. I will just heal him after this," I whispered in the earplug, explaining my reasons. He gave me a warning to not hurt my classmates. I didn't wanted to take any risk on her safety even if it meant hurting others.

"Let's have a 1v1, Todoroki" I started moving towards him.

I completely ignored Shoji. He seemed to have let us be and moved out of our way.

"I have been wanting to fight you since the entrance exam." Todoroki threw out a huge amount of ice towards me.

My entire body got covered with ice. The ice was pretty solid. Any normal villain would have a hard time getting out of it.

My body started leaking off a candle-shaped aura. The energy radiating from me started becoming visible for the first time since I got my quirk. It wasn't too extreme, but it looked similar to Nen. It had that calm feeling to it.

Todoroki fired off more ice towards me in a panic.

I raised my hand and moved it in a single arc.

Boom

All the ice that was hurling towards me shattered into a thousand pieces.

"A casual swing was all it took for him to stop my attack." Todoroki started running out of options.

I made a simple leap towards him getting in front of him in an instant. He barely sidestepped .

A clean punch in the abdomen. That's all it took to knock him out. He got speedblitzed. I have grown stronger.

My quirk is evolving.

I could feel the raw energy coming out from me. This feeling of power is intoxicating.

It seemes hagakure is done on her end as well. I can sense that Shoji is down too. It's over, we won.

I went upstairs after the buzzer. Slowly placing my hande near Shoji, I started healing his ears.

"Sorry Shoji, I had to do this for us to win," I said, helping him up. He seemed to be out of energy to reply back.

"Are you fine, Toru?" I called her out, showing concern on my voice.

She doesn't seem to have any injury on her body. I did do a quick scan just to make sure.

"You… can you see me?" Her question starled me for a second. I didn't know how to reply to her. I simply nodded at her question.

Her entire face started getting redder to the point she looked like a tomato. She instinctively started covering her body. Before she could lable me as a pervert, I took off my cape and swirled it around her.

"I am sorry, I should have told you." Guilt started creeping up on me.

"How do I look?" Her first question to me after knowing that I could see her was how did she look. She must have been dying to know this since she was a kid.

"You… you look amazing, your eyes have a deep sense of belonging to them. Your smile feels like it could pull anyone with its charm. Just a glance at you is enough to make anyone's whole year." I wanted to hide inside a hole now. Why did I spill it all out? That definitely sounded like a confession.

She couldn't gather any words after my last comment. It must have been so awkward for her.

"Now that I think of it, your quirk isn't necessarily invisibility. It leans more towards light refraction, meaning your passive invisibility could be turned into an active power." This should be the least I could do for her. To be honest I didn't want anyone to see her true beauty. I wanted it all for myself. But it would very selfish of me to do that. She must have been suffering all her life because of this. I didn't want her to hurt herself more because of this.

A single drop of tear fell on my shoulder. Oh no… I made this angle-like human being cry. I visibly panicked. I could feel all of her emotions clearly. I was an empath. I could exactly tell how she is feeling, but I didn't know what to do. I chanelled my sage energy into her.

"Here, try to control the light particles around your body." Yet again, I poured in the perfect amount of sage energy into her body to help boost her quirk.

She started becoming clearer as time passed by. Her becoming visible was like an angel's descent.

She gave me a tight hug, bawling herself out even more.

Everyone was wondering what was happening. I had destroyed the cameras to have some personal space. I assured All Might that everything was fine. Toru changed herself back into her school uniform and appeared in front of everyone.

She looked very cheerful when meeting with everyone again. Noone recognized her at first, but after I explained what happened, everyone was screaming in shock. The look on their faces were quite comical to witness.

After everything calmed down, we gathered for a debriefing session. All Might praised us for our teamwork and creativity in using our quirks.

As we left the hall, Toru walked up to me, her face still slightly flushed from earlier. "Kuro, thank you again. I feel like I can finally be myself around everyone. It's all thanks to you."

I smiled, feeling a sense of happiness "I'm glad I could be a help."

Today was a long day. I am happy she got her place in this world.
