Chapter 37: Super Leon?(1)
It was a sunny day on the floating island where the Bartfort family's home was located. The island hovered high in the sky, surrounded by soft clouds that occasionally wrapped around its edges. On one side, it offered a view of endless skies, while on the other, grapevines dangled down, as if trying to reach the ground below.
The island was covered in vibrant greenery, with trees bearing silvery leaves and strange flowers shimmering in a variety of hues. Tiny, friendly creatures resembling winged animals lived here, darting about and occasionally gliding from one hill to another.
Leon, one of the Bartfort family members, could be found inside the house. Today, it could be said that he felt strange—something was making him feel unwell. But it wasn't just the first Leon who felt bad; the second one did too. Both had a headache, though this kind of discomfort usually didn't affect them both at once.
"This feels awful," the second Leon said. "Not only does my head hurt, but there's also this strange, unpleasant taste in my mouth."
"Agreed," said the first Leon, clutching his stomach.
They were looking for their AI to help figure out what was wrong, but they couldn't find them anywhere.
"Damn Luxion! Of all days, he had to wander off today," grumbled the first Leon.
"I bet he's somewhere nearby, just watching us suffer," shouted the second Leon.
As if on cue, Luxion suddenly appeared beside them.
Noticing Leon's condition, he asked, "What's wrong with you, Master?"
"Wish I knew. Can you help?" Leon replied through gritted teeth.
"Hmm," Luxion muttered, staring at Leon as if analyzing him. One second passed, then two. Both Leons began to grow uneasy—it was taking too long for him to say anything. A third second, a fourth, a fifth… Their nervousness kept escalating until Luxion finally spoke:
"That's… strange."
Hearing this, they started trembling.
"What do you mean, strange? Is something wrong?"
"No, it's just… your face looks odd. Other than that, you're fine. Physically, everything checks out. There's nothing damaged inside. What's troubling you?"
Hearing this, both Leons shot him an annoyed glare.
"No idea. I just feel terrible. Do you have anything that could help?"
"Well, I could offer you some headache pills. That's about it," Luxion replied, floating around.
"Fine, I'll take them. Better than nothing," Leon said, reaching out his hand.
Looking first at the outstretched hand, then at Leon himself, Luxion suddenly said, "Do you think I always carry everything with me?"
"What, you don't?" Leon asked in surprise. "You've always had everything on hand before."
"Not this time. Go to your bed, and I'll bring you the pills."
Nodding at those words, Leon headed toward his room. On the way, the strange sensation grew stronger, but it was still tolerable.
As soon as he lay down on the bed, he almost instantly passed out. What was odd, however, was that not only the first Leon passed out—the second one did too, at the exact same moment. It was so precise, down to the attosecond, that it was hard to believe, as they usually fell asleep at different times.
It might seem insignificant, but then something strange started happening to Leon's body.
A bright light burst from Leon's body, and something unusual began to occur within him.
This did not go unnoticed by Luxion, Cleare, and Legion.
