Chapter 29: Fight! (But, Through a Phone Call.)
Risa: “May I ask why you wish to get my wife’s number?” She asked with a serious tone.
Melissa: “Wife? Monia hasn’t married you, Risa Granda.” She scoffed back.
Risa: “She will in the future.” She said with a confident tone.
Melissa: “That is just your hopeful thinking deluding your mind. Why would Monia want to marry the woman who kidnapped her? When it comes down to it, Monia should be with me, a woman who hasn’t wronged her in the least.” She replied with a confident tone of her own.
Perhaps, deluded by her love, Melissa had completely forgotten that, yes, she has wronged Monia. She had seduced Carter, and she stole the position of his wife from Monia. But in reality, as this Monia isn’t the same, Melissa’s words aren’t wrong.
Risa: “…”
Melissa could tell that, though silent, Risa didn’t seem disturbed by her words. “This could only mean that… Risa doesn’t see me as a threat, or the two already got together…” She thought with a sad tone.
Risa: “Tell me now, do you really want Monia, or do you want something from her? Her mother’s business is very successful, and Monia has many IPs that are ripe for film or TV adaptations.” She asked with a curious tone.
Melissa: “I want her, Risa. Far more than you, in fact. It goes without saying, but I have wanted her for two lifetimes now. In comparison, your love is shallow.” She answered with a scalding tone.
Risa: “Who are you to say such things? You don’t know me, nor do you know Monia.” “I even checked her background… Monia, besides her mother, had no men or females in her life. She is a true virgin, and in many ways.” She thought with a slightly conflicted tone, worrying that her investigation might have been too shallow…
At this, Melissa was worried. If she regressed as well as Monia, why couldn’t Risa regress in time too? But that shouldn’t be the case… If she knew that Carter had killed her mother, her father, before then taking everything from her, even the ever-merciful Risa, wouldn’t forgive her brother. “If she regressed, then Carter would already be fifty feet under the ground by now…” She thought with an assured tone.
Melissa: “At the bare minimum, I wouldn’t restrict Monia’s freedom.” She replied with a smug tone. “I do consider it an option, but my love enemy doesn’t have to know that.” She secretly thought.
Risa: “I… Once she is fully mine, then Monia’s freedom will not be restricted in any way.” She swore.
Admitting to keeping Monia in captivity is probably a bad idea, but Risa thinks that this woman seemingly knows too much. If she already knows, then there is no point in hiding it. “Just like I thought! If she regressed, then Risa wouldn’t hold Monia captive. Instead, she would kill Carter, and then slowly seduce Monia. Things are different now, but that might just be a random happenstance, rather than anything that I or Monia changed.” Melissa happily thought.
Melissa: “If you want her to love you… then you have to give her freedom. Even if she is tolerant now, how long will she be? You know that, deep down, you are a yandere. You want to keep Monia locked up forever. You won’t gain her love this way, and whatever feelings that she has for you now… well, they will surely fade if you continue to mistreat her.” She expressed with a sincere tone.
Risa: “…”
Risa was beyond confused. This woman had barged into her life, easily proclaiming that Monia will be hers. And now, the woman was giving her a lecture on how to treat her wife? “I know that it is wrong to keep her locked up… But I can’t let her go yet. Not until Monia willingly lets me put a ring on her finger.” She remorsefully thought.
The conversation didn’t seem to be going anywhere, so Melissa hung up the call. Carter might be a dead-end, but she will surely find a way to talk to Monia. On the first time through this life, Melissa was far too late. She will not be making that mistake again. “If Risa can really make Monia happy… then I won’t mind losing her. I just want Monia to be happy.” She thought as she concocted yet another way to torment Carter into giving her Monia’s number.
