Gu Jingchen stood in the empty hall and waited for a long time, but received no response.

“High Priest, even if you don’t tell me, I will definitely go.”

His words instantly halted the man who was about to depart.

The man turned back, looking down at Gu Jingchen from the high platform, and slowly asked, “Are you sure you must go there?”

“Yes, I’m sure. It would be best to seek help from the High Priest. If not, I will still go.”

Gu Jingchen raised his head, looking directly at the man on the high platform with his silver-white pupils, his expression firm.

Xingtong, standing above, saw the unwavering look in his eyes, and his grey-red pupils flashed, his heart softening slightly.

He waved his fish tail and approached Gu Jingchen, handing him an exquisite oyster box.

Gu Jingchen stretched out his hands, taking the box respectfully, waiting for the High Priest’s next words.

“I can tell you how to come back, but in return, you must take this pearl and help me find someone to see if they are safe.”

As the tall man spoke, a hint of sadness touched his handsome face, and he appeared a little despondent.

Gu Jingchen opened the oyster box and examined the pearl inside, a trace of doubt flickering in his silver eyes.

The pearl in his hand was identical to the one the king had given him last time—a natal pearl.

This kind of pearl was produced when a child was born, and it was the natal pearl of each child.

Parents of young children could use this pearl to find their children swept away by waves in the vast ocean.

The High Priest actually had a child outside the forbidden area.

Xingtong turned around and slowly explained the forbidden area and what laid beyond.

They cannot transform at will, so you will only be able to interact with people in human form. Otherwise, they will view you as an alien and seek to exterminate you.”

As he said this, the man’s grey-red eyes held a glint of ruthlessness, and his body released a strong offensive pheromone.

After calming down, his expression became serious.

“Finally, remember this: if you want to return to this world from that one, you must find a dark abyss in the sea. When you reach the bottom of the abyss, you will see a water-blue aperture. Once you pass through it, you can come back here. However, keep in mind that there are many extremely aggressive fish groups in the abyss, and it’s a narrow escape to reach the bottom.”

“Thank you, High Priest,” Gu Jingchen said, his face full of gratitude after receiving the answer he sought.

The man’s face regained its calm, and he turned around, swimming toward the temple.

Gu Jingchen watched his lonely figure, his heart stirring slightly, and he couldn’t help blurting out, “If I find that person, High Priest, should I bring him back?”

The man, who hadn’t yet gone far, paused for a few seconds before replying, his tone carrying a hint of helplessness.

“There’s no need to bring him back. He’s a foreigner and not suited for the deep sea.  If he’s in danger, just protect him. That’s enough.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the mysterious priest disappeared completely from Gu Jingchen’s sight.
