With one slash using Kyomu, an ugly green goblin was split in half, and this scene repeated four more times as I wiped out the goblin charging at me.
I glanced at the other people, the convicts were completely obliterating the goblin that came in their way, using each their personal gears.
Meanwhile Jinwoo and the survivors of the double dungeon incident were not doing bad, although, except for Johee as she's shaking, making me sigh.
'Johee will need to fix that trauma of hers, and I know just how'
'And as for Mr.Chiyul, he's pretty decent with that fire magic of his, although his real talent lies in swordsmanship…Should I help or nah?' I thought as I looked at him decimating the goblins with fire.
'It's quite strange though, why doesn't he try to combine his fire magic and swordsmanship?' I thought, before moving my head just a little bit to dodge a hidden goblin's ambush, before swinging Kyomu, separating its body in half.
'Humu! I guess I'll help! Afterall, this world needs as much fire power as possible.' I nodded as I came to a decision, before I opened the GC to send Rimuru a message.
I regrouped with them as I saw mr.Chiyul conversing with Jinwoo.
"Your fire magic is pretty powerful, old man!" I praised as he finished talking with Jinwoo, and then looked at Johee who was also praising Jinwoo for not getting any injuries.
Hearing my words, the older man just humbly smiled as he replied. "You're not that bad yourself! You took care of those goblins rather easily, the sword is merely a cherry on top and I bet you can do just as well without that sword of yours."
"Of course! Although, old man, you seem to be really knowledgeable about the way of the sword. Why are you not using it?" I asked, feigning ignorance.
Chiyul scratched his head awkwardly, while showing an awkward face as well.
"Well, as you can see… I only have an arm left, and besides… I awakened a fire based magic ability instead of a physical enhancing one, so… Aside from it being harder to use due to my singular arm, It's a bit obsolete don't you think so?"
His words, especially when he mentioned his remaining arm made the four others become solemnly quiet…
'Ah crap… I made things awkward… But, I can fix this' I thought before I looked at Chiyul and curiously asked. "Why not combine your magic and swordsmanship then?"
Before they could reply, I continued. "For example, let's see… You know how metal conducts heat right? Well, mana is similar! So! Why not, instead of launching your magic after you charge it. You instead imbue your sword with your magic!"
"It's a bit hard for others to do, but it's actually possible! Let me show you a demonstration!"
After saying that, I held out Kyomu for Chiyul,Jinwoo, and Johee to see, before using my skill,
Enchant:Grow on it, making the sword glow in white light.
Although, I'm practically cheating by using my skill, but in truth it's actually the same thing, I'm channeling my mana into Kyomu in a specific way and pattern for the skill to activate.
Anyone can do that. That's how most enhancing abilities basically work. And for Chiyul, he just has to channel the fire type mana into his sword, to make it super heated and viola! You got yourself a superheated sword that can cut metal like butter!
Although, finding a sword made of a material that can withstand intense heat while conducting mana is a completely different matter. But that's for the inventors to find, although I very much doubt if there isn't already a metal like that.
Everyone was surprised by my actions, even the convicts and the Assassin had wide eyes while they looked at the glowing sword, although they seemed to misunderstand something, as they looked at Kyomu more greedily? Afterall, they didn't hear what I was saying as they were on the other side of the room.
Plus, due to Kyomu, I had negated the ability of sound to travel far, so even if the convicts and the assassin had good hearing, the sound couldn't reach their ears.
"I see… Imbue, huh.."Jinwoo mumbled which only the three of us heard, as he held Kaska's Venom Fang and closed his eyes, and not long after, Jinwoo's daggers glowed in a purple, shadowy, glow.
Johee and Chiyul stared at this in disbelief, the same with the Assassin, Kang Taeshik, the convicts and the other two survivors, Kim and the Big guy as well.
I just smiled at this scene, after all, Jinwoo is the literal main character of this world, so he's gonna be super talented…plus, he has the system, and I'm pretty sure that bro just gained a new skill with that.
"I see… So what you said is the truth… thank you for the insight young man." Chiyul expressed his gratitude to me, after seeing Jinwoo easily reproducing what I just did.
"No problemo! In fact, I have something else for you later, just for being a good chap!" I replied, before looking at Johee and smiled "Noona, is pretty great as well! A B-rank healer! That's really great! You can save a lot of people with that!"
"Err..thanks?" Johee responded rather awkwardly, as she held her left arm.
Looking at her like this made me shake my head inwardly before an Idea hit my head.
"Noona, Me and Jinwoo, as well as a friend of ours is planning to eat out sometime soon, and we'll be inviting Jinwoo's sister as well! Although, maybe Jinho will also invite someone, anyways. I also want to invite you to come! I need some help picking out some clothes and gifts to give to a girl and some others, so… will you come with us please?"
Johee was taken aback from my sudden invitation while Jinwoo, although a little surprised, just nodded afterwards.
"Ah? uhm… *sigh* alright! I'll come." She replied.
I nodded at her response, and said "Alright! That's a promise! If you don't come, then I'll send Jinwoo to your house to bring you to the mall!" I teasingly smiled at the end of my words, which turned into a grin as I saw her blushing face.
And besides that, her hands stop shaking now, which is good, all according to keikaku!
'Huhuhu! I will become the ultimate wing man for Johee X Jinwoo X Hae In, ship!'
I thought inside my head before looking back at the old man, Chiyul who was smiling seeing all this.
Great old man, now I'm definitely helping this man grow out his lost arm, just cuz he's nice and because Jinwoo is gonna need some help! But, let's put him on the test first, just to be sure.
….
We continued on after that short break, and not long after we had come across a forked path, 3 roads.
Taeshik proposed that we split up into three, and we had agreed, Jinwoo and I, along with Jinah and Mr.Song went into the left side, the other two survivors, mr.Kim and the big guy went to the center, while Taeshik led the convicts in the right path.
As we walked in our path I couldn't help but mutter. "So it has begun" in a voice that only I could hear.
And as we walked, I thought about the plans I'll be implementing to keep this world from having lots of casualties once the war starts.
Suddenly…
"AAAAAAAAHH" A blood-Curdling scream echoed throughout the caverns, making Jinwoo and the other two, stunned and alert as they prepared to rush towards the source.
"Mr.Song, we need to head back!" Jinwoo exclaimed and Mr.Song agreed.
The four of us dashed through the caverns as fast as possible and entered the middle road, but halfway through, Jinwoo suddenly stopped in his tracks before he reached out his left hand, just in time to stop a dagger from piercing Johee's head.
"Oh? You're that fast?" Taeshik voiced in wonder.
While Jinwoo looked at him calmly and questioned. "What's your deal?"
But Taeshik did not answer as he twisted his hand away freeing himself from Jinwoo's grasp as he slid back away.
"I see you've managed to block my attack… You have Good instincts." Taeishik voiced as he glared at Jinwoo before he continued.
"To avoid any setbacks, I wanted to get rid of her first, because even though she's a non-combatant class, she's still a healer…humm, I might need to rewrite my story if things didn't go as planned"
"W…what? This is so sudden…" Johee voiced in disbelief after hearing his words.
"No matter, I'll be killing all of you anyway." Taeshik said with murderous intent,
"Just like these guys"
"WAIT! You're part of the association! Why are you doing this?!" Mr.Song asked loudly.
"For money…" I replied to his question, which turned everyone's attention on me, but I ignored it and looked at Teshik and continued. "Isn't that right, Mr. I received money to kill the prisoner?"
Taeshik turned his glares at me and asked solemnly."How do you know about that?"
"Se-c-re-t" I replied and smiled at him teasingly.
Taeshik responded with an intense murderous intent as he said. "No matter, you won't be able to get out here alive anyways."
"Just like that trash over there." He finished by pointing his dagger at the blooded Mr.Kim
Which led everyone to look at him…, H"Johee, Heal…" Jinwoo solemnly said. "Quick, Heal Him!" he shouts at Johee which made me shake my head in disappointment.
"Right…Okay!" Johee shakily replied as she hurriedly kneeled beside the dying Mr.Kim and started treating him.
"*Sigh*..Jinwoo, can you focus on this bitch for a sec? I'll join you afterwards." I voiced, passing by the stunned Jinwoo and going towards Mr.Kim.
"...Okay"Hearing my words, Jinwoo decided to trust me as he focused towards the grinning Taeshik.
"N…No, there's no use…You can't save me…" the dying Kim, voiced with pain and resignation.
"You can…Stop… I… Lost too much… Blood." He continued, and just as Johee wanted to stop I intervened.
"Don't stop! Keep him alive for a few seconds" I voiced, and Johee did what I told her. I nodded before taking out a porcelain bottle full of green liquid, and looked at Mr.Song.
"This here, is an elixir, It can heal any wounds and can even bring back a decapitated person back to life… I was planning on giving it to you, Old man, since I kinda like you…" But before I could finish Taeshik suddenly appeared beside me ready to stab me but I didn't do anything as Jinwoo had already intercepted it.
"As I was saying… You have two choices…Either keep this elixir or use-" But before I could finish my words, the man in question interrupted me. "Use it on Mr.Kim! Fast!" Mr.Song voiced without an ounce of hesitation, his voice full of conviction.
I smiled at him and nodded. Before pouring the elixir at the dying Mr.Kim.
The potion didn't take long to work its magic, as the once dying Mr.Kim healed very fast, and in a blink of an eye, he was fully healed, without any scratches, much to everyone's disbelief.
"I…Im alive?" Mr.Kim asked in disbelief, as he checked his own body and found out that he is in fact healed, without a scratch.
Suddenly, tears started pouring out of his eyes, as he cried in relief.
"Oi, It's too soon to cry like a child, the enemy is still alive and more pissed than ever" I voiced, Interrupting his cries as he realized the situation we are in.
I glanced at Mr.Song and saw that he didn't show an ounce of regret in his face or eyes, instead it was relief, as he looked at the fully healed Mr.Kim.
I nodded at this before looking at the two clashing knife wielders, Jiwoo was on the defensive as he was still playing the low-rank.
"Kim, I'm going to borrow this" Mr.Song said as he picked up the sword next to the still stunned Mr.Kim, who nodded after hearing his words.
"Jinwoo, stand back…You can't win against him. Johee, can you cast a power buff on me?" Mr.Song voiced as he got ready to enter the fray. And Johee nodded upon hearing his words before she used a buff spell on him.
"It's been a while since I've wielded a sword against someone. And, I guess I need to show this young man right here that I can live up to his advice… leave it to me."
"Jinwoo, let the old man try." I called out, and Jinwoo sighed before he suddenly did a maneuver to back up from Taeshik.
And Taeshik did not mind at all as he finally got a little bit of a breather.
"A mage pretending to be a swordsman?" He scoffed as he looked at Mr.Song who was walking towards him solemnly.
But Mr.Song was unfazed as he voiced." A strength buff for a mage is a useless skill, since it only drains their energy but.." Mr.Song voiced calmly before he raised his sword.
"Right now…I'm swordsman"
"I see…" Taeshik replied, before he suddenly disappeared from his spot, only appearing once again when he neared Mr.Song.
*CLANK* The sword and the knife clashed, which signified the start of their battle.
"Humu! Mr.Song is really great! It's unfortunate that he awakened as a mage, but well…since he passed my test then I can help him become both" I voiced as I got near Jinwoo, and pat his shoulders heavily.
"More, Importantly… Jinwoo! You gotta apologize to Noona later, I can't believe you raised your voice at her" I voiced, while clenching his shoulder, rather hard, which he probably never felt.
He looked at me with wide eyes after hearing what I said, he must have realized what he did so he hung his head low and replied…"Sorry…I-"
I interrupted him and retorted "What are you, a kid? Don't apologize to me, apologize to her!"
"Alright…" He didn't say anything else and nodded.
"Good! Take her on a date!" I continued, and Jinwoo nodded once more while he had his eyes focused on the exchange of Mr.Song and Taeshik.
Seeing him like this, I smiled mischievously before grinning. "Take her on a romantic date." Jinwoo nodded.
"Frequently take her on dates, and then… when you guys get comfortable, you can finally seal the deal and date already" I said in a sleazy voice, and Jinwoo nodded, but stopped abruptly as he realized what I said.
"Too late for regrets! You had already accepted! So you better do it or I'll tell the others! And the future members!"I voiced, which made Jinwoo stop whatever he was gonna say, as he glanced at Johee, and scratched his face with his index finger.
"Okay…"
'YAS!' I gave myself a pat on the back after seeing him agree, and took a glance at Johee who, at first glance seemed to be fully focused on supporting Mr.Song, but if you observed her closely, her cheeks had a tint of pink.
Suddenly, Taeshik stopped abruptly before he dashed towards Johee. I planned on intercepting using Kyomu, but Jinwoo was already in front of Johee, ready to face Taeshik, but before Taeshik could even proceed further.
Mr.Song appeared behind him, holding a Flaming, orange sword, ready to slash him into two.
"Never turn your back on an opponent who's wielding a sword… You underestimated me" Mr.Song said as he slashed down on Taeshik.
Unfortunately for Mr.Song, Taeshik was able to turn around and block the flaming superheated sword, before he disappeared.
*CLANK* *PSSHLK* But, Taeshik didn't come out unscathed as he dropped the melted dagger in the ground.
"You're definitely not an ordinary old man, that's for sure. You even broke my dagger, and this sword trick you did, is surprising. I even felt that hotness in my body…" Taeshik said before he appeared besides Mr.Song and voiced.
"Unfortunately,There's a limit to your strength…You could only do that once right?!" Taeshik slashed, which Mr.Song defended using the now-back-to-normal sword.
"Do you really think it's possible…For a lowly mage to keep up with the speed of an assassin?" Taeshik said as he dished out slash after slash, as he used the cavern's rather tight walls as leverage. Jumping around and delivering slash after slash in an unpredictable manner, Overwhelming Mr.Song's defense.
"GRAH"Mr.Song shouted in pain as his body spurted in blood from the wounds he got from Taeshik's knife.
"Don't be silly…Someone a bit stronger might've stood a chance, but… I'm much higher in rank than you…Mage hunters like you can't even keep a track of my movements." Taeshik said as he appeared once more in front of the Kneeling Mr.Song.
"Mr.Song!" Johee exclaimed as she ran towards the wobbling Mr.Song, but Mr.Song stopped her.
"Good, that's very smart of you. Seems that you've finally realized that it's no use trying to fight me" Taeshik sneered as he looked down on the seemingly given up Mr.Song, who didn't say anything in return.
Taeshik raised his second dagger, preparing to end Mr.Song while saying."Don't worry, I'll give you a quick and painless death" Right after finishing those words,he slashed down.
Suddenly, a Pillar of flames rose from the ground, engulfing Taeshik, as the flame pillar reached the ceiling.
"Did it work…?" Mr.Song wondered, but unfortunately.
"A mage who pretended to be a swordsman in order to distract me from his magic abilities" Taeshik who appeared on his left side voiced. With only his suit burning from the bottom.
"You waited for me to attack so that you could unleash your magic on me at the perfect moment…Not a bad plan…You sly old snake"
"DIE." Taeshik said before he swung his knife down towards Mr.Song.
*SWISH* *SPLURT* *Thud* A sound of blood getting drawn was heard by everyone, but it didn't come from Mr.Song…Instead…
"AAAAAARRGH!" A bloody scream was heard by everyone, and a quick glance reveals that It was Taeshik who clutched his now bleeding shoulder, shouting in pain while kneeling on the ground.
"Sorry, but not sorry… I still need to go shopping for Rem and the Kid's gifts" I voiced calmly as I turned around and looked at the squirming Taeshik.
*Thump* *Thump* I slowly made my way towards him, before glancing at the surprised people.
And I couldn't blame them, as I am currently looking very different from how I looked before.
Donning,A menacing black and Orange suit, with a spiked helmet reminiscing that of a burning fire.
On my waist is a predominantly orange colored Seiken Sword Driver that will appear whenever I want it to… with the Eternal Phoenix WondeRide Book already socketed in the Driver's slot.
While I held Kyomu in my right hand.
"Now, then… what were you saying?"
