Chapter 15: Chapter 15 - Training

As Rain vanished from the Council chamber in a swirl of shimmering light, the three Heavenly Kings exchanged uneasy glances.

Warrod, the eldest, broke the silence first. His weathered face carried a rare frown as he muttered, "For someone so young to possess such strength... it's both astonishing and terrifying."

Wolfheim leaned back in his chair, his arms folded across his massive chest. "Strength like that doesn't come without cost. I just hope that cost isn't his loyalty. The last thing we need is another traitor like Serena." His voice was gruff, each word tinged with suspicion.

Cancerion, crimson eyes gleaming like embers, leaned forward, his tone calm but pointed. "Makarov, you've always had an eye for talent. But Rain? Rain is more than just talent—he's a force of nature. How did you manage to bring someone like him into Fairy Tail? Or better yet, why?"

Makarov sighed, rubbing his temples. "You make it sound like I recruited him as part of some master plan. The truth is, Rain walked into our guild one day, and I saw something in him—something more than his strength. He's quiet, yes. But beneath that exterior, he has a heart that beats fiercely for those he considers family. Fairy Tail is his family now, and that's all that matters to me."

Wolfheim growled low, his doubts still lingering. "You're too trusting, Makarov. Power like his doesn't just attract admiration—it attracts temptation. What makes you so sure he won't turn against you?"

Makarov's expression hardened, an unusual steel entering his voice. "Because I trust my instincts, and I trust my children. Rain isn't just strong—he's grounded. I'm more worried about the enemies his strength will attract than about him becoming one."

Warrod smiled faintly, his tone softening. "Makarov has always had a knack for reading people. If he believes in Rain, then so do I. Besides, having someone like him on our side is a boon we can't ignore. If Alvarez makes a move, he could very well be the shield that protects this continent."

Cancerion nodded, his gaze distant as if imagining the battles to come. "You're right. But strength like his is a double-edged sword. Let's hope the edge remains pointed at our enemies and not at us."

Makarov rose from his seat, his small frame carrying an air of unshakable resolve. "Rain's strength is only part of who he is. It's his loyalty that makes him dangerous—not to us, but to anyone who dares threaten Fairy Tail. And for that, I'm grateful."

"Fair enough," Warrod said, nodding. "Take care, Makarov. Until we meet again."

As Makarov exited the Council chamber, he paused under the vast sky, his thoughts heavy. Rain... just how far can you go? And will this world be ready when you finally unleash your full strength?

Rain lay sprawled across his bed, one arm draped over his forehead as a sly grin curved his lips. The day's events played on a loop in his mind.

"Council politics are so tedious," he muttered to himself. "I haven't checked my progress in a while. Let's see where I stand."

"Status," he murmured, and a translucent screen materialized before him:

Rain's eyes lingered on the numbers and skills, a chuckle rumbling deep in his chest. "Even sealed, I'm more than enough for most challenges. But where's the fun in overpowering every opponent? Fights are only worth it when there's risk involved."

He dismissed the screen with a flick of his fingers and let out a contented sigh. "Still, it's nice to remind myself of what I can do... when I need to."

With that thought, sleep claimed him, pulling him into a dreamless rest.

The next morning, Rain strolled toward the Fairy Tail guild, the familiar cacophony of voices and laughter reaching him long before he opened the doors.

Inside, chaos reigned. Natsu and Gray were mid-argument, their voices rising to near-shouts as they prepared to trade blows. Across the room, Erza and Mirajane sat at a table, calmly sipping tea as if none of it concerned them.

Rain sighed and approached the two women, weaving through the mayhem.

"Good morning, Rain," Erza greeted him with a serene smile.

"Morning, Erza. Morning, Mira," Rain replied, his tone as steady as ever.

Mirajane pouted, setting her cup down with exaggerated indignation. "What's this? You greet Erza first and not me? I'm hurt, Rain. Truly."

Rain scratched the back of his head, his expression awkward. "Uh, I didn't realize there was an order to these things..."

Erza interjected with a smirk. "Oh, don't let her fool you, Rain. She's just being dramatic as usual."

"Who are you calling dramatic?" Mirajane shot back, leaning forward with mock offense. "At least I don't spend all day eating strawberry cakes!"

The playful banter escalated quickly, with the two exchanging lighthearted jabs. Rain stood there, a bemused spectator, until a thunderous voice brought the entire guild to a halt.

"I'VE TOLD YOU ALL—NO FIGHTING IN THE GUILD!"

The room froze as Makarov appeared in the doorway, his small frame emanating an aura of authority.

"Ah, Master!" Mirajane exclaimed with a sheepish laugh, quickly sitting back down.

Erza straightened, her composure instantly returning. She turned to Rain. "By the way, Rain, would you be willing to train us?"

Rain tilted his head, a small smile playing on his lips. "Sure. Meet me behind the guild at 4:30, and we'll get started."

"Thank you," Erza said, her voice steady with determination.

"Count me in too!" Mirajane added with a grin.

At exactly 4:30, Rain stood behind the guild, arms crossed as Erza and Mirajane approached, their faces alight with anticipation.

"Alright," Rain began, his tone even. "Erza, we'll focus on refining your sword techniques. Mirajane, you need to build your stamina—your transformations are powerful, but they drain you too quickly."

The women nodded, and the training commenced.

For four grueling hours, Rain pushed them to their limits. Erza's strikes became faster and more precise under his guidance, while Mirajane's magical reserves grew stronger with each exercise.

Rain's voice cut through the evening air, calm but firm. "Erza, adjust your stance. You're leaving your left side open."

"Got it," Erza replied, her tone sharp as she corrected her posture.

"Mirajane, focus on channeling your energy evenly. Don't let it spike all at once," Rain advised.

"Understood!" Mirajane said, sweat dripping from her brow.

As the session ended, both women were visibly exhausted but brimming with determination.

"Good work today," Rain said, nodding in approval. "Rest up. We'll pick this up tomorrow."

"Thank you, Rain," Erza said, her voice steady despite her fatigue.

"Yeah, thanks! I'll show you even more next time!" Mirajane added with a grin.

Rain watched as they left, a rare softness in his gaze. They're not just guildmates—they're family. That's why I'll protect this guild, no matter what.

With that thought, he turned and made his way back to his apartment, ready to face whatever tomorrow would bring.
