The screams of people in horrific pain were not heard by anyone around the mountain. The plan to kill Karna and Cana was made with the idea of having no witnesses. So, the nearby citizens were evacuated under the lie of an attack from the demon. But the dark guild members who were currently tortured wished that they had not done it.

Karna was really pissed at what had happened. He knew that this might be a trap or distraction from Gerard as soon as he got the summons for this S rank quest. But he never imagined that the trap involved rigging the entire mountain with explosives which were triggered the moment they reached the centre of the mountain.

The plan was done with their powers taken into consideration. Seeing that the quest mentioned the demon presiding on the mountain, both of their senses will be concentrated on the mountain alone while the dark guild members will observe them from another mountain. The fake image of the demon at the centre will attract their attention, and at the optimum moment, the explosion will be triggered killing both of them.

Karna was clearly lucky as he guessed something would happen because his arrow did not hit the target. He managed to warn Cana to activate her armor while casting Protrego on himself at the same time, even being late by a second would have ended with both of them with life threatening wounds which would even have a chance to cause irreversible damage to their bodies.

The horse talisman has the abilities to heal the entire body, but its limits were never tested, and Karna did not want both of them to reach point where the talisman will not be able to heal them.

The current trap in which they almost fell into is common when dealing with assassins from the dark guilds in the underworld. So, Karna decided to find out the guild from which these assassins were sent and that subsequently led to the current activity of torture.

Because of learning medicine from one of the scariest and most talented doctor of Earthland, Karna and Cana knew the exact way to torture by which they can prolong their life while giving the maximum level of pain just close enough that they do not go mad.

Within a few minutes, they got information about the location of the dark guild. And seeing that it was not that far, they both decided to go and take care of it in a way that it gives out a message to every dark guild out there.

Karna was frustrated while going to the dark guild.

"Of course, the moment the quest was given with survival as the target rather than demon extermination should have been more than enough clue for me to know it."

"Well, we can't do about it now and we both got out without any wounds, and you haven't told me what you have gotten as a reward."

Karna checked the system.

"Oh, this is interesting" he muttered with a smile.

"What is?"

"I got an infinite inventory with a condition. I can only put one thing in it but the amount of that one thing can be infinite. So basically, if I put sea water in it, I can put the entire ocean in it no problem. But I know what was aimed at when this was made."

Cana thought and made the connection with the information of the future given by Karna.

"Are you planning on collecting the entire solid ethernano in the R Tower."

"Bingo, you get a prize" Karna declared in a childish manner which earned him a smack from Cana.

"BE serious"

"Ouch! That hurt but yes, since I have drakon slaying magic catered to ethernano, the entire tower is a high-quality MP potion for me and the chances of its effectiveness surpassing the MP potion given by the system is very high as well. From what I remember, a small shard less than the size of a fist was more than enough for Natsu to recover his magic as well as power up enough to manifest Dragon force without even knowing what it was.

Plus, Natsu had no affinity to pure ethernano and the fact that he was able to use it last time was pure luck and the chances of it playing a part in the cancer he had later in his life is also very high."

Cana nodded along as she got all the relevant information.

"And since I have an affinity and he fact that even the smallest of shards contain large amount of power makes me wonder what would happen if I ate a large sized ethernano" Karna muttered curiously.

"Well, I don't mind you trying to gain more power, but make sure to be very careful when you are using it like that, the chances of the magic overloading your magic core is very high."

Karna nodded while he looked ahead and listened to the alarms ringing throughout the building build inside a tree in the forest.

"Looks like they found out that we came here" Cana muttered.

"Well, we never were planning to be subtle honey, the plan is to send a message while they are at their best so that they can spread the information throughout the dark guild network making everyone think twice before making a move against Fairy Tail members" Karna said the last part with a killing intent as he noticed a small army formed in front of him to strike him down.

"Well, the person who takes the most out does not have to clean anything in the house for one month" Cana put out a wager.

"Make it three weeks and we have a deal."

"Agreed."

"HEY, DO YOU THINK THIS IS A JOKE OR SOMETHING" the leader of the dark guild shouted out, but the next moment he regretted it as he felt the bone chilling killing intent from the eyes of the two people standing in front of his guild.

"Let's finish this quick, Natsu and the others will be waiting for us" that was the last thing the dark guild members heard before everything went dark for them.
