Multiverse's Ghost Rider

Chapter 63: Ch. 61: The Enigma of the Cake Girl

"Hey, Z! I've got this extraterrestrial miscreant in custody!" J's voice echoed through the cavernous main hall, his words punctuated by the clinking of handcuffs. He strode confidently towards the center, a captive Jon in tow, his shout directed towards a glass partition suspended above.

Perched within the glass enclosure was a middle-aged man, his stern features softened by a well-groomed mustache. He was clad in a black suit, the uniform of authority. This was Z, the director of the MIB HQ, the man who held the reins of the organization.

"Well done, J!" Z's voice was a gravelly baritone, filled with years of experience and authority. He rose from his seat, his gaze sweeping over the hall before descending the staircase. "But why are you alone? Where is your partner?"

"Ah, you mean T, right? He...uh, that..." J's voice faltered, his confident demeanor wavering for a moment.

Z sighed, a weary sound that echoed in the silence. "You can't keep firing MIB employees, J!"

"But I don't need a partner, I can handle it alone!" J retorted, his voice firm.

Z shook his head, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Whatever you want! Now tell me about this kid!" His gaze shifted to Jon, scrutinizing him.

"You'd better check him yourself. This guy is as tough as they come and won't spill a word!" J glanced at Jon, his eyes filled with a mix of frustration and respect.

"I told you everything, it's just that you don't believe it!" Jon interjected, his voice filled with indignation.

"Alright, escort him to the temporary detention area. We'll slowly extract the information, and then consider whether to send him to the lunar prison!" Z ordered, his gaze never leaving Jon.

"Okay, Z!" J acknowledged, leading Jon away.

The journey to the detention area was a silent one, the atmosphere heavy with tension. The area was a stark contrast to the previous room, the air thick with a sense of dread. Besides Jon, there were other aliens, their faces a mix of fear and defiance.

Most dangerous aliens were eliminated on the spot by the MiB. Jon had seen it in the movies, agents J and K ruthlessly dispatching countless extraterrestrials. Only those like Jon, who were caught red-handed, were brought here.

"You'll be detained here for a while. Someone will interrogate you later." J's voice was a low rumble, his words echoing in the silence.

Just then, another agent escorting a prisoner passed by. The prisoner, however, was not like the others. She was a beautiful girl, her figure accentuated by a low-cut dress. Jon recognized her instantly. She was the cake girl from the third part of Men in Black, the one who had assisted Boris the Animal in his lunar prison escape.

Jon hadn't expected to see her here.

"Who is that beauty?" Jon asked, his eyes fixed on the cake girl. His voice was filled with curiosity, a stark contrast to the grim atmosphere of the detention area.

The agent escorting Jon turned back, his eyes narrowing. "I'd advise you not to get involved with her. She's Boris the Animal's girl!" His voice was a low warning, his words hanging heavy in the air.

Boris the Animal, a name that sent shivers down the spines of many. He was one of Jon's mission targets and the notorious antagonist of the third part of Men in Black.

Jon's gaze lingered on the cake girl, his mind whirring with possibilities. The current timeline, judging from the system missions and J's solitary operations, seemed to align with "Men in Black 2". This meant that Boris was still incarcerated in the lunar prison, the highest point on the moon. If Jon was to eliminate Boris, he would have to venture to the Lunar Prison.

Z's words echoed in his mind, the possibility of being sent directly to the lunar prison. However, Jon still had unfinished business on Earth. He wasn't certain he could return from the moon on his own, so he had to complete his Earth mission first. As for his journey to the moon, he already had a plan brewing.

Beep~!

The sound echoed through the hall, the door of the detention room swinging open.

"Go in." J's order was curt, his tone brooking no argument.

"Will you be the one interrogating me later?" Jon asked, his gaze steady on J.

"No, someone else will handle that." J's voice was calm, his expression unreadable.

"I suggest you hurry up with the interrogation. If I lose my patience, you'll never get another chance to detain me." Jon's words were a challenge, his tone defiant.

"Oh, really? We will see." J's voice was icy, his words a stark contrast to the heated exchange. With a rough push, he sent Jon into the interrogation room, the door closing behind him with a resounding thud.

Meanwhile, Z was ensconced in his office, a steaming cup of coffee resting on his desk. His gaze was fixed on the computer screen, the flickering images reflecting in his eyes. The video playing was a chilling spectacle of Jon transforming into the Ghost Rider, his fiery form wreaking havoc on the aliens in the restaurant.

"Who are you?" Z murmured, his fingers deftly zooming in on the flaming skeleton on the screen.

Thump! Thump Thump~!

The knock on the office door broke his concentration. Agent J walked in, his face a mask of calm.

"Have you found anything on him?" J asked, his voice steady.

Z sighed, shaking his head. "Nothing."

J's eyebrows shot up in surprise. The agency's spy network spanned the globe, its database the most comprehensive in the world. His former partner K could even monitor his ex-wife's activities through their technology.

"I thought you could find anything you want." J's words were laced with disbelief.

"Yes, as long as it's on Earth, we can find it. But has he ever been on Earth before?!" Z's voice was a low rumble, his words heavy with implication.

"What do you mean?" J asked, his brow furrowing.

Z paused, choosing his words carefully. "His DNA tests confirm he's an Earthling, pure human genetics."

"Hey, Z! Seriously? Do you think people on Earth look like this?" J pointed at the Ghost Rider on the screen, his voice incredulous.

Z ignored him, continuing, "But there's no data on him anywhere on Earth, no traces in any database. It's as if he didn't exist before noon today."

J frowned, his mind racing. "That's impossible. Even if he's an alien, he couldn't have left no trace. All alien immigrants come here through various means. They can't escape our surveillance!"

"Exactly, so if we want to know him, we have to ask him in person." Z's gaze returned to the Ghost Rider on the screen.

Just then, another voice intruded on their conversation.

"Passports are ready!" The voice was gruff, as if the speaker was straining his throat.

They turned to see a dog, a passport clutched in its mouth. The dog placed the passport on the chair and looked up at them expectantly.

J and Z barely reacted, their attention returning to their discussion. The dog was Z's assistant, an alien in disguise.

"By the way, J! There's something I need you to do." Z's voice was serious. "A murder occurred on Spring Street. Both the victim and the murderer were aliens. I need you to investigate. But you must bring a partner!"

"I don't have a partner now, have you forgotten?" J retorted.

At this, the dog piped up, "Let me be J's partner!" His voice was filled with eagerness, his tail wagging in anticipation.
