Multiverse's Ghost Rider

Chapter 68: Chapter 66: An Alien Nightclub

"Wuhu~!"

Jon's exclamation echoed in the confines of his sports car, a triumphant cry after his victory over the tentacle alien. His heart pounded in his chest, adrenaline coursing through his veins as he accelerated down the deserted road. The speedometer needle crept past 80 miles per hour, the car's engine purring like a satisfied beast under the hood.

Suddenly, the piercing wail of a siren cut through the night. A traffic policeman, astride his motorcycle, pulled up alongside Jon's car. His stern face was illuminated by the flashing red and blue lights, his voice amplified by the loudspeaker. "Hey, stop now, you're over speeding!"

Jon merely glanced at the officer, a smirk playing on his lips. He didn't slow down, didn't pull over. Instead, he reached out and pressed a red button on the dashboard. The car responded instantly, the sleek black shell retracting to reveal intricate mechanical parts. The transformation was a spectacle, the sports car morphing into a formidable battleship-like vehicle right on the road.

"Here we go." Jon's voice was filled with anticipation as he watched the jets at the rear of the car come to life, spewing out streams of blue flames. The tires retracted, and with a powerful thrust, the car took off, soaring into the night sky.

"Wa-da-fa~!" The traffic policeman could only stare, his mind struggling to comprehend the sight before him. He had seen many things in his career, but a car transforming into a flying vehicle was not one of them.

Jon reveled in the freedom of the open sky, the cool night wind whipping past him. The thrill of flying was unparalleled, far more exhilarating than speeding on the ground. Yet, he knew he still needed Igris, his trusted mount dragon. The flying car, despite its impressive capabilities, was limited to low-altitude flight and lacked the agility of his dragon.

Down below, the sight of a flying car caused a stir among the onlookers. Shouts of surprise and fear filled the air, people pointing at the sky, their faces a mix of awe and terror. "Oh my God, what is that?!" "Mom, look, there's a flying car in the sky!" "Oh, we're screwed. Aliens must have come to Earth. Oh my God, there are aliens on Earth. This is so scary!"

Jon was aware of the commotion he was causing, but he didn't care. He had always disagreed with the Men in Black's policy of erasing people's memories to hide the truth. He found their arrogance, their belief that they were the world's saviors, distasteful. He wanted people to know the truth, to see the extraordinary things he saw.

His actions didn't go unnoticed. News of the flying car spread like wildfire, the whole of New York tuning in to watch the spectacle. "Now here is a news report. Not long ago, a man was seen flying a vehicle at low altitude over the streets of Manhattan, New York. From the blurry content in the picture, it can be initially determined that the driver is a young man, around twenty years old..."

Among the crowd watching the news, Agent J stood, his eyes glued to the screen. He had been on his way to find his partner K when he had come across the broadcast. His face mirrored the shock and disbelief of the others around him. "What the ….?!" He muttered, his mind racing to make sense of the situation.

"Damn it!"

In the austere confines of the MIB headquarters, Director Z's office was a scene of chaos. The director himself was in the throes of a furious tantrum, his desk overturned, papers scattered everywhere. "Damn it, damn it, damn it..." His voice echoed off the walls, a thunderous roar that made the agents in the room flinch.

The agents stood in a line, their heads bowed, their bodies rigid with tension. They didn't dare to breathe, let alone speak. Z turned to face them, his finger jabbing at the computer screen where the news of Jon's joyride was playing. "That bastard is parading around New York in my car, and what are you idiots doing? Standing around like statues? Is a Nationwide Wanted order just a piece of paper to you?!"

One of the agents, his voice trembling, tried to explain. "Sorry... Director, he raided the department earlier and took all our weapons. We don't have the means to pursue him, and your car... it's the fastest vehicle in the entire MIB..."

"Shut up! I don't need your excuses. You're all just freeloaders!" Z's voice was a whip, his words stinging. He took a deep breath, trying to regain his composure. "I'll have to send my best agents, J and K, to handle this."

"No, Director."

A stern female voice cut through the tension in the room. Agent O strode into the office, her face set in a determined expression. "J and K are needed to handle the Zarta's Light situation. The fate of the entire earth is at stake. Compared to that, the attack on the headquarters is insignificant."

"Are you questioning my decision, O?" Z's voice was icy, his gaze sharp. "We are the MIB, the protectors of the earth. We are the last line of defense. If we fall, how can we protect the world?!"

O didn't back down. She stepped forward, handing Z a cup of coffee, her hand resting on his shoulder in a comforting gesture. "Calm down, Z. You're not in a good state right now, you're losing your judgment."

Z's response was a bitter laugh. "Judgment? You think I'm losing my judgment? How can I be calm in this situation? Tell me what to do now!"

"Don't worry, Z." O's voice was soothing, her smile reassuring. "Remember, MIB isn't just this headquarters. We have branches all over. It's time to call in reinforcements."

Simultaneously, Jon found himself standing in a vast underground warehouse. The lighting was sparse, casting long, eerie shadows that danced around the numerous containers scattered throughout the space. These containers, filled to the brim with an assortment of goods, were the lifeblood of this clandestine operation.

Jon had discovered this location through the intelligence he'd pilfered from the MIB. According to the data, this warehouse was a front for an alien club, a hub for extraterrestrial activity. It was a melting pot of interstellar criminals, a marketplace for illegal alien weaponry, drugs, and even human trafficking. Essentially, it was a thriving black market.

Despite having detailed information and substantial evidence of the criminal activities taking place here, the MIB had chosen to turn a blind eye. This apathy was something Jon couldn't comprehend.

"Hmm...where could it be hidden?" Jon mused, his gaze sweeping over the containers. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes to better sense the energy around him. When he opened them again, his gaze was locked on a particular container.

A small smile played on his lips as he approached the container. He opened it to find it seemingly empty. Undeterred, Jon stepped inside, walking to the far end before delivering a powerful kick to the wall.

The inner wall crumbled under the force, revealing a hidden staircase leading underground. At the end of the staircase was an elevator door.

"Perfect!~" Jon's smile widened as he made his way towards the elevator. He stepped inside, noting the single button marked '-1'. He pressed it, and the elevator doors slid shut, beginning its descent.

After a moment, the elevator doors opened once again.
