E3 Chapter 21
: The Monkey and the Kid

[N POV]

"Ah... that hits the spot. You’re pretty good at this, Newbie... "

"Hehe, it’s because I’m able to do everything."

"Oh? Like beating up a dragon with bare hands? "

"No, I can’t do such a thing."

Inside the cell, Geese and Rudeus are lying on the ground. As for Rudeus, the one below, Geese used his hand above him.

Giving Rudeus a massage, they continue to converse.

"Like doing it with 100 women at the same time?"

"Two at most."

"Like escaping from here to Zanto Port?"

"Do you plan to escape?"

Geese asked while coming closer to Rudes’ head and whispering the words.

"I am getting worried about my comrades."

Geese stood up and said

"I don’t want to." Escape on your own if you want. It’s possible for you, right? "

As he still remembers the night before, when Rudeus was getting chilled from the night cold, he blatantly opened the cell and astonished the guards.

Putting his clothes on, he comes back again to the cell and falls asleep.

"Look, the guards are still staring a dagger at us..."

"Why?! At least consider being my guide until I’m halfway through! "

Rudeus said and pulled on Geese’s leg. It causes geese to fall. Then he answered, "I’ve got something to do! It’s fine if you’re innocent, right? They’ll surely understand. "

"No matter how many times I try, they won’t even listen!"

"I got it. I’ll hold one of the guards hostage and have them show me the way to town! "

"Hey, calm down for a sec, Senior!"

Geese said and made Rudeus fall by holding one of his legs.

"Let me go, newbie! I’m mad! "

Rudes then crawled on the wooden floor to open the cell.

I’m going to burn this forest too! Huh? The young lady guard is gone. "

"Hey, Newbie, isn’t this place getting a bit too hot?"

"Now that you mention it, it does feel so."

Also, it’s somehow smoky...?

"Huh... ah..."

Geese suddenly pointed towards the outside of the cell.

The forest was burned.

"Did you do that, Senior?"

Rudeus then shakes his head while looking at the burned village, flabbergasted.

"So it means..." Geese said.

"It’s a fire!"" they both shouted at the same time while looking at the flaring bed inside their cell.

Of course, it’s easy for Rudeus to get out of the cell.

As he and Geese ran outside, they could see the flaming hot fire assaulting the village, and the arsonists burned the flame.

In fact, Rudeus knew it too well.

"Those damn slavers..."

"You know them, Senior?"

Grunting, he moves to counter-attack the Slavers.

They were all swift on their feet, as the number of enemies was less than they could deal with. Geese and Rudeus tried their best to keep up with the help. Not long later, the male Beastmen brought Rudeus to the village.

"This is horrible. These guys are the rumored slavers that sold the beast race... "

‘Honestly, I’m mad at the people in this village. They locked me in prison and refused to let me explain... This is what Rudeus thinks as he sees the man doing his best to save the children.

But even so, this scene... is way too disturbing for me,’ he thought as the cries of the children being dragged away touched him.

"What’re you standing there for?! Let’s go and help him! "

Rudeus slaps Geese on the back and continues his endeavor.

He used great timing to help the Beastmen. The person was astonished by the sudden help and looked back to see Rudeus behind him.

His eyes widened, but he didn’t think much and received the help while still wary of Rudeus.

Their cooperation can’t be said to be perfect, but it’s helpful to the man.

As he moves to attack the slavers in front of him and save the children, Rudeus keeps his back safe. Meanwhile, the geese treated the injured beast race.

Sadly, not many could be saved as more deaths were counted.

The number of slavers is too overwhelming.

As the beast race is exhausted, Rudeus’ mana is almost depleted. Even the geese had run out of ideas to assist the injured beast race.

As the beast race male got closer, he gave the children he saved to Geese and said to Rudeus.

"I thank you for your help, but please get the children to a safer place...."

"Where’s the safer place in this sea of flame, I wonder?"

"That is..."

"I’m Rudeus, by the way. Not doubting my innocence anymore?"

I’m really sorry for that... I am Gyes... We can talk about that later. Please at least help the children. "

"I have another idea, but please give me 10 minutes."

As he said so, he started chanting a long spell while entirely focusing on the mana surrounding him.

I need to gather as much cold air as possible, using the atmospheric pressure and wind to move it. I shall guide the spell to create a greater cumulonimbus. ’

As he continued to chant, the sky got darker, and the clouds let out lightning. A deafening thunder suddenly came out of the sky, stopping the battle for a second.

Not long later, a heavy downpour came.

"What is this..." Gyes said as he felt the surrounding fire stop their track.

While Geese said, "Awesome! As expected of a senior! "

However, even within these downpours, the slavers didn’t stop. Their movement is hindered.

They aren’t accustomed to the slippery ground in the forest. Even so, no one can stop them.

Knowing that the source of this weird weather came from the mage, they move to attack Rudeus but are stopped by Gyes and Geese's cooperation.

Not until a helping hand came and stopped the tank in its tracks. Then, leave the guys incapable of blocking more than they can handle.

Using his wand, Rudeus then let his early intermediate style swordsmanship shine and defended against the assault for some time until the pouring water finished extinguishing the fire.

Having less than 5% mana in his body makes his movements sluggish. Thanks to his practice, he can still have that much mana. If he had not practiced, he’d definitely be dead by now, either from mana exhaustion or from getting stabbed.

They head to the next one, where the children are gathered, as they’ve finished dealing with the slavers within the area.

Because of the sudden downpour, the carriage that had the children within was stuck in the mud. letting Gyes head there faster and save the children.

"Just as I thought, it was you!" Rudeus said while looking at the man pointing his blade at a child.

"Pet owner, why are you with these guys? While the red-haired girl and the fake Superd guy are still busy dealing with the Beast warrior group,

He was called a pet owner in the Demon continent as Ruijerd, and Eris was called the dog, with Eris being the mad dog showing her way of fighting, and Ruijerd was called the watchdog.

He was so good at handling both dogs, making them believe that Rudeus was a demon race with a young body like those from the Migurd Race or another one.

I was wondering why they hadn’t shown up. So Eris and Ruijerd are doing something... "

"Can you read the room, pet owner?" "You guys succeed in traversing the sea with my help.

"You mean by using us?"

"Of course, I did. Why’d I ask you to set free the kids that we worked so hard to kidnap?" He said, and made the blade get closer to the girl’s neck. Her expression shows her fear. "It’s to distract the Doldia guys, huhu."

As expected... well, I’ve already thought you definitely have some plan in mind."

"Say, pet owner. Join our side. Did you know? Beast brats sell really well. Some aristocrats love them and pay a lot. "

A beast race warrior stood behind a tree to ambush him as he said so.

"Hahah, what a disgusting pervert!" the man said while laughing disparagingly.

It can’t be them, right? Rudeus thought while thinking about the Boreas Grayrat family awkwardly.

They sure have plenty of beast race maids in the mansion, but a single family definitely won’t be able to afford all the children they have right now.

From what the person said, the buyer must be a group of aristocrats.

"Sorry, I refuse."

"Heh, so Dead End wants to pretend to be a man of justice?"

"We want people to see us that way."

Dead End was what the Superdian, no, Ruijerd, was called on the Demon continent.

To make him clean up his name, the Dead End was used as the party name. To let the others forget about the Dead End from Ruijerst infamy and use the party name to let the world know that the Dead End is a good person or entity.

"I see. You just made the wrong choice, you know? "

"The person said while raising his hand to slash the girl." The girl was held by the neck and cried at that gesture.

Gyes moved after seeing the other beast race and head to the man’s position.

As the 3 Beast warriors trapped him, the man threw the child towards Gyes. While Gyes held the girl, the other continued to attack, causing the three-pronged attack to fail and allowing the man to counterattack.

He quickly dealt with 2 of the Beast Race males and stabbed once in the stomach while kicking another into Gyes. He attacked Gyes in that split second.

Gyes threw the girl away and allowed the slash to succeed.

"Ughh, Gyaaaah," said the stabbed Gyes as he rolled on the ground, his chest and stomach slashed.

The wound was deep, and the blood poured out of his injury.

As the man turns to face the hurting Gyes, he notices the child being held with a chuckle, ignoring Geese.

 …

..

Meanwhile, Claude, who had come out of the dungeon, continues to seek a way to civilization.

As of now, he’s stranded in an unknown area that he never went to.

"Where the hell is this?" He asked while judging the flora around him, thinking of any information that might help him deal with the situation he’s currently in.

"The fauna in the area seems better than in the dungeon; thankfully it’s a forest. While I can assure myself that the flora was not poisoned in the same way that the one inside the dungeon was.I won’t know when I will succeed in getting out of this place. "

"Judging by the flora and the ground humidity, this place is occasionally soaked with water. Which means, a flood might arrive sooner or later…"

"Great, now I need to find a secure safe so I’m not getting drowned!"

as he continued to seek the right path. Claude complained all the way on his way out of the forest.

**

"Hey, hey, Senior! That’s not looking good! The man used North-style swordsmanship! " Geese said, while pointing at the man.

"You know a lot for a monkey bastard," the man said while pulling the girl's hair.

Rudeus was already exhausted, and Geese was

Useless

"Now, come at me, pet owner," The man said as he pointed the blade's tip to Rudeus. As he let the blade down, he added, "Or did you get cold feet after seeing that, so now you’re thinking about overlooking this, you coward?"

As the man moves closer while holding the girl by the hair, he taunts Rudeus.

‘What a coward, holding a hostage! I want to say that, but this guy is strong. ’

‘Perhaps I may as well overlook this? Unlike Ruijerd, I’m not so righteous that I’d risk my life to save some kids who I don’t know. ’

"You’re really not coming? "So boring," he said as he looked down on Rudeus. "Alright then, pet owner. Contact me anytime if you want to join us. "

"Help me..." said the little girl, using the beast God’s language.

Rudeus's eyes opened widely at that time.

He wanted to help, but the exhaustion he felt at the time was too overwhelming. He could faint right away.

Geese yelled from behind.

"Are you really fine with that…?!"

As the man stepped further away, the little girl groaned in pain as she was dragged away, pulled by her hair.

As Geese and Rudeus were thinking about their powerlessness, the divine Beast appeared. The dog suddenly appeared and attacked the man.

"What the hell!"

Using that opportunity, Rudeus sent a magic ball toward the man, throwing the girl away. She was grabbed by Geese at that moment, safely securing the girl.

As the girl was released, the dog moved back towards Rudeus's side.

That magic spell was the last thing he said before he was exhausted. He fell powerlessly and received protection from the Divine Beast.

"You bastard! You’ve done it now! "

The dog was growling beside Rudeus while Geese ran towards him.

"Senpai, are you alright?"

"ha..... haha, sorry Garus-san. Dead End can’t be evil." He said proudly.

Garus clicked his tongue while looking at the tired boy.

He came with a lot more men than he ever had this time. Since the thing was, he had already succeeded in attacking the Elven village before coming to the beast race village.

The attack was successful, and the elven race was already nearby.

This night should be a nightmare for the elven and beast races, as they can only see their brethren being abducted before their eyes.

However, this even creates more noise than what they intended. The fire alone should be enough to incapacitate the beast race and make the other races fear for their lives if they enter the burned forest.

However, the Elven race knight should be arriving soon.

So, Garus used the opportunity to attack Rudeus as fast as possible. While Geese and the dog were trying their hardest to deflect any attack. Rudeus tried his best to replenish his mana.

"Hahaha! That amusing little boy! "

..

A voice suddenly appeared, and then the gritting voice of a heavy thing being dragged echoed across the battlefield.

The sound of some heavy thing terraforming the land, making ditches on the ground.

The booming steps of the person who arrived didn’t appear, but the sound of the gritting land was heard clearly.

Garus heard the sound, stopped his attack, and checked his surrounding area. The sound was coming from all over the place.

Then a nocked arrow sound can be heard, as if he already realized that the elf was already here.

"Damn it! Everyone, retreat! " Garus commanded swiftly. Sadly, as he looked back, his henchman was already lying on the floor, losing consciousness.

"Oh my, they’re so weak...." said the person as he held the last of Garus’ henchmen that still awakened.

His eyes filled with dread as he was choked by the person's grip holding his neck. The smile on that guy was so scary in his eyes that he had already peed his pants.

"Damn it, who are you?"

Garus yelled as he moved faster towards the person. He didn’t really take that person highly as he had already seen the figure.

A size that is only a bit smaller than him, and the attire looks no better than a beggar. If he didn’t see his henchman being held like a chicken, he’d never thought of the boy in front of him as someone strong.

That ability to choke an adult weighing more than 70 kg with a single hand is terrifying.

"At last, someone who used a human language! If only I met you sooner, we could have had a light conversation. Sadly, we can’t now. "

"Raaah!"

Garus threw his sword toward the boy and ran as fast as possible to continue the attack.

The boy chuckled nonchalantly before the sword arrived at the boy’s place and threw the man’s body far.

He then said, "Time square," as he opened his palm and made a fist with it.

The boy suddenly disappeared.

He stopped in his tracks, and the sword he threw lost its target.

"Where are you looking at?"

Garus heard the sound and didn’t look back, but rolled to the front as he already knew the person behind him.

He didn’t even stop to ponder how the person could suddenly appear behind him.

"Tch, as expected of an advanced swordsman... You sure think fast, but even so... It’s too late. "

Garus felt something wet in his stomach. It was not the water from the spell, since the wetness had a bit of hot air in it.

He looked below and saw his punctured stomach.

He wanted to say something but was stopped by the blood coming out of his mouth.

It was not said before, but actually, Garus was kind to Rudeus.

In the first place, he had more than 100 people at his beck and call. As he could call them all, he wanted to decimate the opposition and deal with Rudeus faster than he could think.

However, he thought that Rudeus was still a child and a worthy one in the first place. He can see that having this kid own him will bring him more profit than killing him.

Garus is right. His thinking is true to its worth. As Rudeus is someone who will never forget his debt to Garus for allowing him to cross the sea and move to Millis, he has wanted to kill him since their first meeting.

In Rudeus's mind at that time, Garus was kinder than the beast folk. As a result of creating a hierarchy, he was forced to refrain from killing Garus.

Having known that Garus always held himself back from killing Rudeus,

But, this boy in front of him…

No, this monster in front of him is different. Once he sees him, he can feel the pressure he felt from the Superdian.

It might even be scarier than the Superdian, as he can feel this boy's bloodthirst.

He doesn’t know why, but the thirst for blood. This monster's anger and eeriness aren’t something one can get from an average person.

Garus can blurrily see that his henchman was knocked out by the arrow from the elven folk as he falls down.

While they might lose their lives, he didn’t think much of it but felt the loss of profit.

Then, Garus loses consciousness.

"Hey, Elf! Leave some for me. I still need to wash my blade in their blood! "

He said in human language. The elf that could somehow understand him just ignored him and continued to shoot their arrows, immobilizing the slavers.

Meanwhile, from behind,

Rudeus felt that his tiredness was blown away as he saw the figure…

"Why... are you here, Claude?"
