Chapter 44: Chapter 43: The Daily Life of the Newborns
The morning sunlight filtered through the gauze curtains and spilled into the warm nursery of the Kwon family. Yu Sha and Kwon Jung-hoon stood in front of the crib, their faces full of nervousness and anticipation. Today was the day when the babies were coming home.
"Honey, look how soundly they're sleeping," Yu Sha said softly, her eyes filled with tenderness and affection.
Kwon Jung-hoon gently held Yu Sha's hand. "Yes, we've finally been looking forward to bringing them home. We must take good care of these two little darlings."
Just then, the babies seemed to sense their parents' gazes. One of them waved its tiny fists and let out a slight babbling sound. Yu Sha quickly bent over and carefully picked up the baby in her arms. Her movements were a bit clumsy but full of motherly love.
"Baby, Mommy's here," Yu Sha coaxed softly, with a happy smile on her face.
Kwon Jung-hoon also stepped forward, looking at the baby's rosy little face and said with a smile, "This little one really looks like you."
However, the happy atmosphere didn't last long. The baby suddenly started crying. Yu Sha was a bit flustered at once. "Honey, what should we do? Is it hungry?"
Kwon Jung-hoon quickly picked up the feeding bottle beside him. "I'll go make the formula milk. You comfort the baby first."
He rushed to the kitchen, fumbled to open the formula milk can, and scooped up the formula milk according to the ratio on the instructions.
"One scoop, two scoops... Oh, I almost poured too much," Kwon Jung-hoon muttered softly.
At this time, Kwang Na and Jung-yeol came to the door.
"Brother, sister-in-law, we're here to help!" Kwang Na shouted with a smile.
Jung-yeol looked at Kwon Jung-hoon's clumsy appearance and walked forward. "Brother, let me do it. You go and check on sister-in-law and the baby."
Kwon Jung-hoon gave his younger brother a grateful look. "Okay, then be quick."
Back in the nursery, Yu Sha was gently rocking the baby in her arms, humming a tuneless lullaby.
"Baby, be good. Don't cry. Daddy will be here soon."
Kwon Jung-hoon walked to Yu Sha's side and took the baby. "Let me hold it. You take a rest."
After a while, Jung-yeol walked in with the prepared formula milk. "Brother, the formula milk is ready. Check the temperature."
Kwon Jung-hoon took the feeding bottle, dropped a few drops on his wrist, and after feeling that the temperature was right, he put the nipple to the baby's mouth. The baby immediately stopped crying and started sucking vigorously.
"Phew, it finally stopped crying," Yu Sha let out a sigh of relief.
Kwang Na said with a smile, "Sister-in-law, don't worry. You'll get the hang of it gradually. I used to help take care of children at my relatives' houses before. If you don't understand anything, you can ask me."
Yu Sha looked at Kwang Na gratefully. "Thank you, Kwang Na. With your help, I feel much more at ease."
After feeding the baby, it was time to change the diaper. Yu Sha and Kwon Jung-hoon looked at the tiny diaper and were at a loss.
"How do we do this?" Yu Sha asked with a frown.
Jung-yeol walked over with a smile. "Let me demonstrate. First, gently place the baby on the diaper mat, and then untie the dirty diaper..."
Under Jung-yeol's guidance, Kwon Jung-hoon carefully changed the diaper for the baby.
"Wow, honey, you did a pretty good job," Yu Sha praised.
Kwon Jung-hoon wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Thanks to Jung-yeol. Otherwise, I really wouldn't have known what to do."
At this time, the other baby also woke up and started crying. Kwang Na quickly picked up the baby. "Is this baby also hungry?"
Yu Sha hurriedly went to make the formula milk again. This time, she was a bit more proficient.
During the process of taking care of the babies, everyone talked and laughed. Although they were busy, it was full of warmth.
"Kwang Na, when will you and Jung-yeol have a baby too?" Yu Sha teased with a smile.
Kwang Na's face turned red all of a sudden. "Sister-in-law, what are you talking about? We're not married yet."
Jung-yeol looked at Kwang Na's shy look and said with a smile, "Soon. When I'm ready, I'll definitely give Kwang Na a grand wedding."
After the babies were full and had drunk enough, they fell asleep again. Yu Sha and Kwon Jung-hoon put them in the crib and looked at their peaceful sleeping faces, their hearts full of happiness.
"Honey, with the babies, our life is more complete," Yu Sha said, leaning against Kwon Jung-hoon's arms.
Kwon Jung-hoon hugged Yu Sha. "Yes, we should work together to give them a happy home."
Kwang Na and Jung-yeol watched this warm scene and smiled at each other.
"Jung-yeol, we should also live happily like brother and sister-in-law in the future," Kwang Na said softly.
Jung-yeol held Kwang Na's hand. "Definitely. We'll always be happy."
In the afternoon, the sunlight was still bright. Yu Sha and Kwang Na sat in the living room, reading parenting books while exchanging experiences.
"Sister-in-law, the babies should get more sunlight at this time. It helps with calcium absorption," Kwang Na said, pointing to the content in the book.
Yu Sha nodded. "Hmm, I've remembered it. Kwang Na, you really know a lot."
Kwang Na said with a smile, "I also learned from reading books before. Now it comes in handy just right."
At this time, Kwon Jung-hoon and Jung-yeol walked in from outside, carrying some baby products in their hands.
"We bought some new toys and clothes for the babies," Kwon Jung-hoon said.
Yu Sha looked at these cute things and said happily, "Honey, you're so thoughtful."
Jung-yeol handed a small rattle to Kwang Na. "This is for you. You can use it to play with the babies later."
Kwang Na took the rattle and shook it gently, and it made a crisp sound. "It's so fun. The babies will surely like it."
In the evening, the afterglow of the setting sun dyed the sky red. Yu Sha and Kwon Jung-hoon were pushing the baby stroller and taking a walk in the yard. The babies opened their big eyes and looked at the surrounding world curiously.
"Baby, look at that flower. Isn't it beautiful?" Yu Sha said, pointing to a blooming rose.
The baby seemed to understand and made some 含糊的 sounds.
Kwon Jung-hoon said with a smile, "When they grow a bit older, we'll take them to the park to play."
"Okay, they'll surely be very happy," Yu Sha said with longing.
When they got home, Kwang Na had already prepared dinner. Everyone sat around the dining table, talking about the babies' future while having dinner.
"I hope the babies can grow up healthily and happily and become successful people in the future," Yu Sha said.
Kwon Jung-hoon nodded. "Yes, we should provide them with the best education and living conditions."
Jung-yeol said, "Brother, sister-in-law, don't worry. Kwang Na and I will also help."
Kwang Na said with a smile, "Yes, we're a family. We should take care of the babies together."
After dinner, the babies cried for a while again, and everyone coaxed them to sleep together. Looking at the babies sleeping quietly in the crib, Yu Sha and Kwon Jung-hoon went back to the bedroom tired but satisfied.
"Today was really a busy day, but also a happy day," Yu Sha said, lying on the bed.
Kwon Jung-hoon hugged Yu Sha. "There will be many more days like this in the future. We should work hard together."
In this home full of the breath of new life, Yu Sha, Kwon Jung-hoon, Kwang Na and Jung-yeol jointly guarded the growth of the babies. Their lives also became more colorful and full of love and hope because of the arrival of the babies. As the days passed by, they kept learning and growing in the process of taking care of the babies, and also looked forward to the babies bringing more surprises and joys.
