The battle between the humans and magic beasts erupted just like that. Both sides were attacking each other with the intent to kill

There was no right or wrong here, only a matter of survival. Either the humans in this camp lived by killing the magic beasts or the magic beasts will break out by killing the humans

Still, although that was the case, as a Junior Mage at the 6th cycle and Deviant Mage at that, he can still kill quite a number of magic beasts in this camp. It might not be enough to make a difference but his contribution is still important

The guard used his magic as his body was suddenly engulfed in flames. His physical abilities were enhanced and in a blink of an eye, he reached one of the thousands of magic beasts

Using his fist engulfed in flames, he smashed that magic beast's face. The sound of cracking bones was loud but it was still drowned by the chaotic noise in the surrounding

Soon, the scent of burnt flesh wafted in the air as that magic beast died after receiving only one attack

It was not that this guard was unbelievably strong, it was because while he was at the 6th cycle, the magic beast he killed was merely at the 3rd cycle

Even if magic beasts are physically stronger compared to humans, there is still a difference of 3 small realms and unless the magic beast has a noble and pure bloodline, it's impossible to breach that gap

Still not satisfied with killing one magic beast, the guard turned to his side where another magic beast could be seen

His eyes still burning with fury flickered as he raised his hand to form a magic circle in front of his palm

After some time, the magic circle was fully formed and the guard unleashed his magic

"[Fire Drill!]"

From the magic circle, a small rotating drill of fire emerged and it flew in the air, drawing a crimson arc

It just so happens that the guard's target just killed a human mage and was distracted. As such, it didn't have the time to dodge and its head was impaled by the drill

This magic beast is only at the 5th cycle. Normally, due to the inherent advantage of the magic beasts, it still wouldn't be this easy for the guard to kill it even though there is the gap of a small realm

Thankfully, the magic beast was distracted and it easily died just like that. However, it seems like the guard's luck finally ran out

Before he can even turn his attention to another magic beast to continue killing them, his eyes suddenly tremble as he looks at his own chest

Blood dyed his mage robe as the head of a slimy and white worm poked his chest. This worm has sharp razor teeth and used the guard's chest as a 'road' as it went from his chest down to the ground before vanishing

"N-no..." the guard's eyes flashed with unwillingness as he slowly lost consciousness

While mages are beyond normal people, they are still not invincible. A mere Junior Mage will surely die from this kind of wound and indeed, after just a few seconds, the body of this guard fell down, devoid of any hint of life

This situation was very common on this battlefield. Human mages will kill magic beasts just to be killed by another magic beast and vice versa

Even before coming to this realm, Rezen already had plenty of experience when it came to fighting and killing

However, most of the time, it was a one-on-one battle or him versus a number of enemies. He seldom had allies when fighting. As such, he was used to focusing on himself and attacking anything that entered his senses

However, large-scale wars are different. One must be able to distinguish enemies from allies. Not everyone near Rezen is an enemy that he needs to kill. Some are there to help and save him

Large-scale battles are really different than a single man fighting against hundreds or even thousands of enemies. This is proving to be quite a challenge to Rezen

"Detecting a heaven's blessed nearby" the magnetic and emotionless voice of Ivy entered Rezen's mind and he was pleasantly surprised

There was actually a heaven's blessed here? Rezen has a lot of resources in the form of Spirit Plants but these things have fixed uses and value but the heaven's blessed are different

Once Rezen was able to endure the torture from the Fortune Manifestation, obtained and Fortune Seed, and grew it into a Fortune Fruit, he could consume that fruit while thinking of what he wanted to achieve

If he wished to find certain resources or succeed in the thing he was planning to do, the fortune or 'luck' from the Fortune Fruit would tinker with destiny to help achieve his goal

It could be said that the fortune aura of the heaven's blessed can never transform into any aid that Rezen wants

He naturally preferred to have a fortune aura than discover some Spirit Plants as the versatility of the fortune aura was evident

Of course, that is actually generalizing it. After all, power that is powerful enough can negate the effects of fortune aura

This worm's fortune aura will not work against a being that is beyond the Great Rank due to the large difference in power

However, it was hard for any being at the Junior Rank to be able to kill it as the fortune aura will passively help the heaven's blessed survive

He only glanced at the worm for a few seconds yet he already received an attack from the enemies. On a battlefield, no one is allowed to be distracted or to stop moving if they want to survive

This time, Rezen that was set on obtaining fortune aura didn't continue his killing spree. Instead, he used the available 'resources' around for his goal

He used simple wind magic to transmit information to his fellow mages. He manipulated the winds to create sounds akin to human language so subtly communicate with the other mages
