My Identity Is Becoming More and More Astonishing

Chapter 55: One Man, Destroys a City! (Part 2)

The next day, the sun was bright and cheerful.

But in Chen Yu's "hole," it was still as dark as pitch.

"Are you done yet? I want to go out!"

"What's the rush." From above, Chen grumbled irritably, "Can't the bed come apart piece by piece?"

"Let me out first by making a small hole, then we can talk." Chen Yu stood in the middle of the ladder, pushing against the basement "door" below him, and looked down, "Four rats now, where did they all come in from…"

"I let you sleep down there so you could kill those two rats!" Chen bellowed furiously, "And you've gone and bred two more!"

"It's too dirty." Chen Yu frowned, shouting up, "Let my sister do it."

"Not taking it apart! When the rats are gone, that's when you can come up!"

Chen Yu: "…"

He pushed tentatively at the iron door and found it immovable. He sighed, jumped off the ladder, and started to look for the four little critters.

But he accidentally spotted a parcel underneath the only chair in the basement.

Out of curiosity, he took it out and unwrapped it, only to find various CDs.

"My old man's still in his prime!"

Chen Yu was delighted and quickly started rummaging through them.

Indeed, he found quite a few of his favorite genres.

But then, at the very bottom of these CDs, he discovered a bundle of red cloth.

He pulled it out and unfolded it to see a line of bold letters—[Henghui Group! Return my hard-earned money!]

Narrowing his eyes, he watched quietly for a while, tucked it away safely into his clothes, and then began his rat extermination mission.

Transcendent vs. four rats.

Chen Yu didn't need to lift a finger, just picked up four small stones…

One flick! One dead.

One flick! One dead.

One flick! One dead.

One flick! Another dead…

"Lucky there were only four rats."

Standing up and dusting off his hands, Chen Yu climbed back up the ladder and knocked on the iron door, "Dad, I've killed all the rats. Let me out now."

"What are you, a cat? You caught them that fast?"

"If I were lying, I might as well be a son of a dog." Chen Yu swore, holding up two fingers.

"Fuck, where's my knife? Where the hell did my knife go…"

After some fuss,

Chen Yu finally got "upstairs" and finished his breakfast.

With an excuse handy, he then left the tent and followed a group of seniors doing their morning exercises, running a lap around the park.

"Hey? Xiaoyu!"

Just as Chen Yu finished warming up and was about to leave the park, Chen ran breathlessly towards him, "Wait for me."

Chen Yu stopped and turned back, "I won't go far, just out to see a classmate. I'll be back in the evening."

"I'm not stopping you from going," Chen panted heavily as she reached Chen Yu, then after catching her breath for a while, handed over a pack of sanitary pads, "You're a girl now, you've got to carry the essentials with you."

Chen Yu: "…"

Wordlessly, Chen Yu suppressed the urge to "murder his sister" and with his trembling right hand, took it, "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Chen smiled and waved her hand, "Which classmate's place are you going to? A boy or a girl? Boys these days are quite bad, you must protect yourself."

"You take care of yourself too." Chen Yu smiled.

"Go on then, come back early in the evening!"

Watching Chen turn away and go back running, Chen Yu unconsciously crumpled the item in his hand into a ball...

Leaving the park.

Chen Yu first wandered around Hecheng's central clothing market for half an hour, then headed straight to a six-level building on the brink of the commercial district.

At this moment.

The plaza of this office building had already gathered quite a crowd.

Mostly elderly.

There were banners and wooden boards of all sorts, standing, piercing, erecting, and crossing the area.

The messages on them were generally consistent.

("Murderers must pay with their lives!")

("Compensation! Compensation! Compensation!")

("Capitalist group that feeds on human blood!")

("Give us victims an explanation...")

Standing not far away, Chen Yu quietly watched for a while, carrying a worn cloth bag he had just picked up, and walked toward the revolving doors of the office building.

"Hey! What are you doing?" One of the security guards in a line in front of the door, his cap askew, stepped forward, blocking Chen Yu with his stun baton.

"I have business with your manager," Chen Yu said calmly, "we had an appointment."

The security guard sized Chen Yu up and down for a moment, then waved his stun baton toward the back: "Bring it in."

Without saying much, Chen Yu pushed the revolving door, entered the lobby, and walked straight to the reception desk, asking, "Hello, I'm a family member, who should I talk to about a construction accident?"

"The room next door." The young woman at the front desk didn't even lift her head, cracking sunflower seeds and looking at a tablet.

Chen Yu turned around and walked into the room the receptionist had indicated, seeing two middle-aged women chatting inside.

"Can I help you?" Seeing someone had come in, one of the slightly overweight women frowned and eyed Chen Yu from head to toe.

"I'm here to deal with my father's compensation."

"Oh." The woman shifted her body on the swivel chair, gliding over to the computer, reached for the mouse, and asked, "Your dad's dead?"

Hearing this, Chen Yu narrowed his eyes: "Do you know how to speak?"

"I'm asking if your dad is dead, so I can look up the file!" The middle-aged woman immediately lost her temper, her voice rising to a shriek, "How do I not know how to speak? Do you know how to listen?"

"What's your name?" asked Chen Yu.

"What, you going to report me or something?" The middle-aged woman glared, yanking off her name badge and slamming it onto the desk: "Here! Look! My employee number is here too! You go ahead and report me. Where did you pick up such an attitude? You're here to ask for money, and I'm supposed to treat you like royalty?"

Without replying to her, Chen Yu simply made a serious note of the information on the name badge, nodded and said, "Check it, my dad's still alive."

"Not dead? Then I can't check." The woman slammed down the mouse, irritably shooing him away, "Out, out, out!"

"If he's not dead, does that mean there's no compensation?"

"Don't ask me, I don't know," the woman said, looking back at Chen Yu and enunciating sharply, "Find someone who knows, I can't deal with this here. Can you understand that?"

Chen Yu: "I don't understand."

"Then go back to school. Are you leaving or not? If not, I'm calling security."

"OK." Nodding his head, Chen Yu turned and left.

The loud complaints of the two women followed him from behind.

"Each one of them just thinking about extorting money, as if they got excited over having someone die at home."

"Isn't that the truth, Sister Liu, beggars being choosers. We don't give them a penny, what can they do..."

Chen Yu, his face expressionless, made a mental note of everything said and looked around, finding the elevator and stepping in to press the button for the top floor.

As everyone knows.

The leaders' offices are generally on the top floor.

"Ding!"

Half a minute later, the elevator door opened.

Chen Yu had reached the top floor, and with one glance, he saw the doorplate marked "General Manager's Office."

He pushed the door open with no hesitation and entered, but finding no one there, he stepped back out and continued searching. Around the corner of the top floor, he discovered that the "Meeting Room" seemed to have quite a few people inside.

"Click."

"Click, click, click—"

Twisting his neck, Chen Yu, boiling with killing intent in his chest, took steps forward.

...
