Chapter 43: Chapter 43 If not me, who will take care of them
Carla's face fell as the doctor delivered the news. "Doctor, is it that bad?" she asked, her voice trembling.
The doctor's expression was sympathetic. "Ma'am, you should consider surgery, just as I mentioned during your last checkup. If not, we risk complications that could have severe consequences."
Carla sighed, weighing her options. She knew that surgery would mean taking time off work, and her family relied on her income. "Thank you, sir. I'll think about it."
The doctor nodded, his eyes filled with concern. "Please do, ma'am. Your health is paramount."
As Carla left the office, the doctor couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for her. He had seen many patients struggle with tough decisions, but there was something about Carla's situation that tugged at his heartstrings.

As Carla walked toward the bus stop, her mind was consumed by the doctor's words. She knew she needed to prioritize her health, but the thought of leaving her two babies behind, struggling to make ends meet, was unbearable. Carla's heart ached as she weighed her options. She couldn't bring herself to spend the money on surgery, not when her children's well-being depended on it.
"If not me, who will take care of them?" Carla thought, a sense of desperation creeping in. "Their father left me for his mistress, and I couldn't possibly burden their paternal grandparents they don't even like them since their son leave us alone.I'm all my children have. If I don't sacrifice for them, who will?" Carla thought tears streaming down her eyes as she walked under the sun.
With a resolute determination, Carla made up her mind: she would sacrifice her own needs, her own health, for the sake of her children. The thought brought a mix of sadness and resolve, but Carla knew it was the only way to ensure her babies wouldn't go hungry.
Meanwhile, Ace and Aria were driving back from school. As they stopped at a red light, Ace turned to Aria and asked, "Are we picking up your brother on the way back?"
Aria shook her head. "No, Mom will take him."
As they continued driving, Ace suddenly asked, "Aria, why do you like me?"
Aria was taken aback, unsure of how to respond. "Hm, I don't know why either," she admitted.
Ace nodded thoughtfully. "Hmm, good."
The silence that followed was palpable, but Aria eventually broke it. "Why do you love me, Ace?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ace's expression turned introspective. "Uhm, I don't know why either. I just opened my eyes and saw myself in love with you."
Aria hummed, nodding her head in understanding.
As they approached Aria's house, Ace mentioned, "I'm traveling tonight with my dad, out of the country. I won't be in school tomorrow, so take care."
Aria's expression turned concerned. "Oh, you're traveling? Take care of yourself, then."
As Aria stepped out of the car, Aria called out, "Drive back safe, Ace."
Aria smiled and walked into her house, where her mother was waiting with a warm smile. "You're back, my daughter. Come let's watch your favorite movie; it's just about to start."
Aria's eyes lit up. "Wonder Woman?"
Carla nodded. "Yes, my dear."
As they settled in to watch the movie, Ace and his father, Mr. Alexander, were preparing for their trip. "Did you get everything?" Mr. Alexander asked.
Ace nodded. "Yes, I got everything."
At the airport, they boarded their private plane, a luxurious jet equipped with every amenity imaginable. As they soared through the skies, Ace gazed out the window, his thoughts drifting back to Aria.
Their destination was Singapore, where they would attend a high-profile business event. As they descended onto the runway, Ace felt a thrill of excitement. This trip was going to be an adventure.
Their chauffeur-driven car whisked them away to their magnificent villa, a stunning mansion with breathtaking views of the city skyline. As they settled in for the night, Ace couldn't help but feel grateful for this life of luxury.
But amidst all the opulence, his thoughts kept drifting back to Aria, and the connection they shared. Little did he know, their lives were about to become even more intertwined.
