Something pinched Samantha when she looked at Carol, she didn't like the way she was looking at Chance, Samantha in that moment didn't want anyone else to drool over him, she frowned at her thought process and she realized she is turning possessive about Chance.

Samantha has a lot of self-realization about herself, she knows what she wants and what she doesn't.

She also knows how she behaves if she suddenly starts liking someone, first she turns very possessive about that person, then she won't like it if the person she likes gives importance to anyone else other than her.

If the person she likes, equally likes her back and accepts her the way she is, then Samantha would love that person to death, so much that she can die or kill anyone for that person.

Her love and her hatred towards anyone are both very extreme.

There was one person, who adored Samantha and accepted her wholeheartedly. That person loved Samantha the way she was, even her flaws were loved by that one person but that person was killed and their death is what turned Samantha into a deadly assassin.

After that Samantha was scared of loving anyone, the fear of losing her loved one was stuck very hard with her and she decided to spend the rest of her life alone having no emotional baggage in life but Chance was forcing himself in her heart and was breaking the walls she built around herself.

Samantha decided to be conscious about her feelings and wanted to ensure she doesn't develop any other feelings for Chance.
