Chapter 57 - Fraudster
Chapter 57: Fraudster
“Dear, which car will you be driving?” Ye Xiong pointed at the two luxury cars and asked.
“I’m going to drive the Porsche. I’m meeting a huge foreign customer today and I heard that your English is quite good. So, I need you to accompany me to the airport,” Yang Xinyi said.
“You’ve heard that my English is quite good, eh?” Ye Xiong stated curiously.
“Stop being arrogant and get in the car.” Yang Xinyi threw the key to him and sat in the backseat.
Ye Xiong was very excited as this was his first time driving such a luxurious car. He rushed into the car and kept touching around. He was extremely excited.
‘What an amazing holy weapon for getting dates!’
If he were to drive this car and park it right at the entrance of Jiangnan University, those pure and innocent girls aged eighteen to twenty would flock towards him like a moth to a flame. He would get all the dates he wanted.
Ye Xiong had decided in his mind that he needed to drive the car more often if he had the chance.
“Dear, I’ve something to discuss with you. You know very well that I’m the General Manager of Feiyang International Hotel. Since you wanted me to work in your company, the position is definitely not a bad one. So, what position are you planning to give me?”
“What else can you be other than a bodyguard?” Yang Xinyi looked down at him.
“I can still…” Ye Xiong pondered and he had no idea what else he could do.
Based on his personality, he would definitely not be able to sit still if he were to work in the office. It would be too troublesome to work in other fields as well. Furthermore, he did not have the patience to work as a translator and he had given up on becoming the president.
After pondering for a while, he realized that a hands-on job such as the manager of the security department was more logical.
“You’ll work as the Assistant Manager in the security department. You don’t have to come to work if nothing happens but you’ll have to clean up the mess properly if something occurs. Your monthly salary will be ten thousand bucks,” Yang Xinyi said.
“Ten thousand?” Ye Xiong was startled as he complained, “Yang Ripoff, isn’t this scam a little bit too overboard?”
“If I recall correctly, your monthly salary was less than four thousand when you’re working as a site worker.”
“How could you compare that? I was single back then, I’ve to feed my wife now,” Ye Xiong claimed.
“Do you really think that you’ll need to feed me?” Yang Xinyi stared at him in disdain.
“So you’ve finally admitted that you’re my wife?” Ye Xiong was very touched as he patted his chest. “Since you’ve said that, I guess I’ve got to do it even if it means I have to settle for this salary.”
“Thank you for that.” Yang Xinyi gladly accepted his proposal.
Ye Xiong widened his mouth as he thought, ‘Since when did my wife become so shameless?’ He was just fooling around and she took it seriously.
“About that… Dear, I was just joking earlier. This about it, we’re not really husband and wife. I’m sure you don’t feel happy even if you’ve accepted it, right?” Ye Xiong giggled.
Yang Xinyi faced the window and remained silent.
Ye Xiong pouted. He thought that a woman’s emotion could swing unpredictably. Despite him speaking the truth that their marriage was fake, why would she be unhappy about it?
Soon, they arrived at the airport. Yang Xinyi then turned her head around and she looked calm once more.
“He’s the General Manager of a huge corporation from overseas and it took me a long time to get an appointment with him. This business involves hundreds of millions of dollars and it’s also the largest purchase order from overseas in recent years. You’ve got to buckle up and not make things worse,” Yang Xinyi said seriously.
“Understood. You can just ignore my existence for now.” Ye Xiong smiled and asked, “May I know the origin of this company’s country?”
“America.”
“Which company is this amazing?” Ye Xiong asked casually.
“China Media United Business Group.”
“Huh?” Ye Xiong was startled.
“China Media United Business Group. What’s the matter? Have you heard of them before?”
Not only did he know of them, he knew of this company down to its very core.
Ye Xiong smiled wryly. His serious getup had turned into a mischievous look in an instant.
“Have you done your due diligence and investigated the company beforehand?” Ye Xiong laughed as he asked.
“I’ve sent people overseas to investigate the company. This company has a footprint of tens of thousands of square meters in the heart of the city. It’s a rare local corporation and its capabilities and assets are incredibly rich.” Yang Xinyi introduced.
‘Rich my *ss. It’s nothing but a shell company.’
When Ye Xiong was still with Dragon Soul, he had encountered a business fraudster once and decided to go overseas to investigate him. Ultimately, he found out that this man worked with China Media United Business Group and he had investigated this company.
One would not know anything if they did not do their due diligence and would be incredibly shocked if they did. Although this company had a footprint of tens of thousands of square meters and it was incredibly famous in its country, it was actually a shell company. Their financial situation was incredibly bad and had a debt of millions of dollars.
Many people in America knew of it but only a handful of people knew of them in China. Many companies had been tricked and were robbed of their fortune. Ye Xiong did not anticipate that Yang Xinyi would encounter them at all.
Nobody could blame Yang Xinyi. After all, this company was incredibly cunning as it seemed to be very well networked with its locals. When Ye Xiong had found out the truth, the organization had given diplomatic feedback to America and Ye Xiong believed that the company had shut down. Who would have thought that it was still in operation?
It looked like this company’s relationship with its local government was more than meets the eye.
Since he had encountered them again, he had no choice but to do his due diligence.
“What’s the name of our guest today?”
“Bouzef, he’s the company’s representative for China. Mind your manners later and don’t offend him in any way,” Yang Xinyi warned sternly.
The car was parked at the airport. Yang Xinyi waited for her guest as she held a board that had phrases welcoming Bouzef written on it.
Ten minutes later, a short, fat foreigner in his forties walked out of the arrival hall.
Following tightly behind him were two black giants at least one meter ninety centimeters tall. One could tell immediately that they were his bodyguards. Their getup indeed gave off a vibe that they should not be underestimated.
Not many companies would be this ridiculous, having to have two ex-special forces as bodyguards for a company’s representative.
“You must be Ms. Yang Xinyi. You’re really beautiful, it’s an honor to meet you.” Bouzef’s eyes shone brightly the instant he laid his eyes on Yang Xinyi. It was as if a wolf had laid its eyes on fresh meat.
He then opened his arms wide as he prepared to give Yang Xinyi a huge hug.
Yang Xinyi had already heard of these foreigner’s customs. Although she was unwilling, she had no choice but to shove her disgust to aside and gently moved forward.
Who would have thought that a figure was a step faster than her as he stood in front of her and hugged the guest? He had even welcomed him with his fluent English, “Dear Mr. Bouzef, it’s really an honor to finally see you. Welcome to the beautiful country of China.”
Although Yang Xinyi had heard that Ye Xiong knew how to speak in English, she did not expect that he would be this fluent in it. His accurate pronunciation was something that could not be learned unless he often ventured overseas and interacted with the locals there.
“Sir, you are?” Although Bouzef was not happy about it, it was difficult to reject Ye Xiong’s passionate hug. Just as Bouzef was about to hug him, he heard a thunderous sneeze.
Ye Xiong had let out an incredibly huge sneeze and he had sneezed all over on Bouzef’s face.
This scene had startled Yang Xinyi greatly.
