After Uchiha Feng's departure, no one spoke up to retain him—it was his punishment, and no one wanted to meddle unnecessarily.

Compared to Feng's punishment, the clan's attention was clearly more focused on the issue of filling the vacant elder positions.

Uchiha Zhan stood up directly and said, "Clan leader, now that Uchiha Feng has been dealt with, the three elder positions must be filled as soon as possible."

Uchiha Tajima remained silent for a moment before waving his hand, signaling Zhan to sit down. He spoke calmly, "The matter of the elders requires careful consideration. We will discuss it in the future."

Unlike those peak-level jonin who coveted the elder positions, Tajima, as the clan leader, had his own plans. The three Uchiha elders wielded significant power, sometimes enough to override the clan leader's decisions if they united.

Since taking on the role of clan leader, Tajima had suffered several setbacks because of the elders. After two of them were ambushed and killed two years ago, he had delayed filling the positions, consolidating his power in the process. Now, with the last elder removed, he finally held full authority.

The idea of appointing new elders immediately was out of the question for him. However, he also understood that this matter could not be delayed indefinitely. The elder positions would eventually need to be filled, but Tajima intended to postpone it as long as possible.

Zhan appeared ready to press the issue but stopped when Tajima shot him a warning glare. Sullen, he returned to his seat without another word.

To shift the conversation, Tajima began issuing commands, such as strengthening defenses against the Senju and adjusting relations with other clans. He also announced several urgent missions before finally declaring, with a chilling tone:

"The Hyuga Clan must pay for their actions. We will make the entire Warring States period remember the consequences of offending the Uchiha!"

All the ninja present roared their agreement, their fists clenched and their eyes burning with rage.

The Uchiha Clan, born with a natural sense of pride, viewed most other clans as inferior—only the Senju Clan were considered true rivals. For a clan like the Hyuga to exploit their conflict and attack was a humiliation. Had it not been for the emergence of two prodigies among the younger generation, the consequences could have been catastrophic. This offense demanded retribution.

As the discussion heated up, a shadow darted into the hall and delivered a secret report to Tajima before vanishing just as quickly.

Xuan frowned slightly. The messenger was dressed in traditional ninja attire—black from head to toe, with his face covered. He moved with complete disregard for everyone present, handing the report directly to Tajima before disappearing again.

"That was one of my father's personal shadow guards," Madara explained in a low voice, noticing Xuan's curiosity. "They usually stay out of sight. It's unusual for one to appear publicly like this."

Xuan's eyes narrowed slightly. Personal shadow guards? This was new to him. It seemed there were many facets of the Uchiha Clan he had yet to discover.

Tajima opened the report and began reading silently. His expression grew darker with every word, and fury burned in his eyes. Finally, he slammed the document onto the table and roared, "Those shameless Hyuga! They've completely thrown away their honor. To save themselves, they've resorted to such disgraceful actions!"

The gathered Uchiha looked on in confusion, unsure of what had angered him so much.

Tajima spat in disgust. "A report from the front lines. The Hyuga Clan has submitted to the Senju, offering to become their subordinate clan! Disgraceful—truly a lower-class clan!"

The room fell into stunned silence. No one had anticipated such news.

Becoming a subordinate clan was vastly different from forming an alliance. Alliances were agreements between equals, but subordination required complete submission. A subordinate clan would have to bow to their superior's leader, offer tribute, and sacrifice their independence.

For a powerful clan like the Hyuga, ranked just below the Uchiha and Senju, this was unthinkable. Yet here they were, throwing away their dignity.

The hall soon erupted with curses and insults aimed at the Hyuga, ridiculing their audacity to claim themselves as one of the great clans. To the Uchiha, such behavior was an embarrassment to all ninja.

Xuan remained silent, knowing his voice carried little weight at the moment. He saw no need to draw attention to himself, especially since he was confident his system would eventually make him a force to be reckoned with.

After the initial outburst, someone asked Tajima, "Clan leader, what should we do? Should we still attack the Hyuga?"

"Quiet!" Tajima ordered, and the room fell silent as everyone turned their attention to him.

After considering the situation, Tajima said, "When we retreated in haste, we lost control of the Fengjian Valley, which had separated the Hyuga and Senju territories. Now that the Senju control that area, their lands are connected. Attacking the Hyuga under these circumstances would be unwise. For now, focus on defending against the Senju and stabilizing our position. We can deal with the Hyuga later."

The assembled ninja nodded in agreement.

Changing the topic, Tajima said, "Now, let's discuss something more uplifting. On the night of the Hyuga's attack, our clan witnessed the rise of two prodigies who defeated an enemy jonin together. Let us celebrate Uchiha Madara and Uchiha Xuan!"

The crowd parted, encircling Madara and Xuan, showering them with praise. Their excitement was genuine—nothing brought greater joy in the Warring States era than the emergence of talented young warriors.

Xuan maintained a calm demeanor on the surface, though inwardly, he was thrilled by the recognition. Being praised felt undeniably good.

Madara, on the other hand, held his head high, exuding an air of arrogance.

"Now," Tajima continued, "I officially declare Uchiha Madara and Uchiha Xuan as special jonin of the Uchiha Clan. Each of you will be rewarded with an A-rank jutsu, which you can learn at the clan's shrine. I've already informed the shrine guardian—both of you may enter directly."

Xuan's heart leaped with joy. While he wasn't particularly concerned about the title of special jonin, the opportunity to learn advanced Uchiha techniques was invaluable.

Finally, Tajima addressed Xuan directly. "After you collect your jutsu, I need you to visit the Fujiwara Mines. There have been reports of bandit activity there recently—handle it."

Xuan blinked in surprise, then nodded at Tajima's stern gaze.
