Night fell. Inside Gen's room, his maid knelt before him, her head lowered cautiously, unsure why her master had summoned her. Unlike usual, it didn't seem like he wanted a massage.
"Xiao Ying, lift your head," Gen commanded.
"Huh?" Startled by his words, Chiya Ying instinctively raised her head. Her entire body trembled as her eyes locked onto a pair of blood-red pupils, each marked with three tomoe spinning slowly. The mesmerizing yet sinister sight paralyzed her, and her thoughts blurred until her mind became a blank slate.
Seeing her dazed expression and the reflection of the tomoe in her eyes, Gen confirmed the hypnosis was successful. Although the Sharingan's hypnotic ability was secondary, it worked exceptionally well against individuals weaker than its user—perfect for probing hidden truths like now.
"What is your name?" Gen asked softly.
"Chiya Ying."
"Who am I?"
"You are Uchiha Gen, my master."
"Good," Gen nodded, satisfied. He proceeded to the next step but hesitated momentarily when he saw the motionless maid kneeling in front of him. A faint pang of guilt arose in his heart. Shaking the thought away, he reminded himself that even if he wanted to act immorally, he currently lacked the ability to do so.
"Why did Uchiha Tajima send you to me?"
"The clan head sent me to serve you as a maid."
"No other purpose?"
The maid remained silent; in her hypnotic state, she couldn't answer ambiguous questions.
From her reaction, Gen concluded she wasn't sent by Tajima to spy on him. After all, it would be foolish to assign an ordinary maid to monitor a clan member with a fully activated three-tomoe Sharingan.
"Are you a maid of the Uchiha clan, or are you my maid?" Gen asked.
"I am a maid sent by the Uchiha clan to serve you."
Gen frowned. That wasn't the answer he wanted.
"If one day I were to conflict with the Uchiha clan, what would you do?"
Chiya Ying's body trembled slightly, her hands clenching tightly. The conflict in her subconscious was evident—she had likely never considered such a scenario before.
"Master is a genius of the Uchiha clan. Such a conflict will never happen," she finally said after a long pause.
Gen tapped his fingers on the floor, pondering. It was clear that the Uchiha clan held an immense place in her heart, something not ideal for his plans.
This was understandable. After being abandoned by those who raised her, the Uchiha clan had saved her life, raised her, and trained her. Naturally, she felt a deep sense of gratitude and loyalty.
"What if, one day, I ordered you to betray the Uchiha clan?" Gen's Sharingan spun faster, amplifying its hypnotic power. Chiya Ying's pale face betrayed her intense internal struggle, her hands clenched so tightly they turned white.
Gen didn't ask this question with rebellion in mind. In the Warring States Era, individual strength—even at the kage level—was insufficient to survive without a powerful backing. The Uchiha clan was a banner he wasn't ready to abandon, at least not yet.
Instead, his question aimed to determine if Chiya Ying was prepared to become solely his maid, loyal to him alone. This distinction was critical.
One minute, two minutes, three minutes…
After ten minutes of silence, Chiya Ying's lips finally moved. Her voice, soft yet determined, broke the quiet:
"I will obey my master. I will betray the Uchiha clan. Master, please don't abandon me. I don't want to be discarded again."
Startled, Gen looked down and saw Chiya Ying clutching his ankle tightly. Tears streamed down her face as she pleaded with him. Her expression showed fear and longing, and her Sharingan had even disappeared from her eyes.
Sighing softly, Gen crouched down and hugged her gently.
"Good girl. As long as you obey me, I will never abandon you."
In his arms, the maid sobbed uncontrollably, shaking her head repeatedly as she clung to him. Her tears and snot dampened his robe, leaving a large wet stain on his chest.
When her cries finally subsided, Gen said, "How about I teach you how to harness chakra?"
Her eyes widened in shock as she stared at him, momentarily forgetting to wipe her tears.
"Do you want to learn?" Gen asked with a smile.
The maid nodded fervently, like a chicken pecking at grain, as if afraid the opportunity would vanish if she hesitated.
Satisfied, Gen began explaining the basics of chakra control. She listened intently, asking questions whenever she didn't understand, and Gen patiently clarified, even pointing out specific points on her body to illustrate chakra flow.
To his surprise, Chiya Ying turned out to be quite talented. While not as gifted as him or Madara, her aptitude exceeded that of most Uchiha clan members. After two hours of instruction, she grasped the fundamentals of chakra manipulation.
Having a capable student always eased a teacher's burden. Gen took out a scroll from his collection and handed it to her.
"This is a bloodline secret technique I acquired from a Blood Ninja. It's decent. Take it and study it yourself. Remember, though, you must be cautious while training your chakra. Don't let anyone in the clan notice. Teaching non-Uchiha members how to use chakra is a serious crime."
Chiya Ying nodded earnestly. "Master, I'll be careful. Once I become a ninja, I'll help you."
Hearing this, Gen chuckled silently.
Suddenly, a mechanical voice echoed in his mind:

Quest Description: As a future ruler of the world, you need a powerful force by your side. The system has initiated a side quest, granting you the Twelve Divine Maidens contract. Build your army and unite the world!
Time Limit: Same as the main quest.

Gen froze. A new system quest at this moment? Frowning, he dismissed Chiya Ying for the night, intending to study the task carefully.
The maid hesitated as she glanced at the large wet spot on his robe. "Master, should I wash your clothes for you?"
Only then did Gen notice the stain on his chest. He nodded, handed over his robe, and watched her leave with it.
