"Did you really manage to take down those three Jōnin?" Uchiha Madara seized the moment to ask, his tone urgent. Though he wanted to believe Gen, the claim was too far-fetched to accept outright.
"We'll discuss that later. Right now, we need to deal with this Hyūga elite Jōnin. You'll take the lead." Gen's three-tomoe Sharingan flickered as he observed Hyūga Akikaze closing in with deadly intent.
"You're always throwing me into the fire!" Madara grumbled. He knew from experience that taking the lead in Gen's battles usually meant enduring the worst of the enemy's attacks.
"Stop whining—he's here!" Gen barked, hurling a storm of kunai and shuriken at the approaching foe.
Hyūga Akikaze activated his Byakugan, his blade moving with precision as he deflected the projectiles. He charged forward and unleashed his signature move.
"Air-Cutting Strike!"
A devastating chakra slash erupted toward the duo.
"He's all yours," Gen muttered, disappearing in a flash with his Flying Thunder God technique.
Swallowing his curses, Madara braced himself, charging head-on. With no time to dodge, he chose to fight with reckless abandon.

The clash of powerful chakras echoed through the forest. Madara's strategy was simple: abandon defense and attack relentlessly. For every strike Akikaze landed, Madara retaliated with one aimed at vital points, forcing a stalemate despite his worsening injuries.
From a concealed treetop, Gen observed the intense battle. His Sharingan tracked Akikaze's every move. Using conventional means to kill this elite Jōnin is impossible, he thought. Gen had managed to take down the three Jōnin earlier only because of the unpredictability of his Flying Thunder God technique. However, an elite Jōnin like Akikaze was a far greater threat.
Even Madara, with his arsenal of powerful techniques, was still weaker than a typical Jōnin without relying on his trump cards.
"Immobilizing him for just a few seconds should be enough to finish this."

Three clones of Gen appeared beside him, each carrying an explosive tag. Thin chakra threads extended from his fingers, reactivating the scattered kunai from earlier. Infused with chakra, the threads yanked the kunai into motion toward Akikaze.
"Madara, get clear!" Gen shouted.
Madara didn't hesitate. Allowing Akikaze's blade to slash deeply into his shoulder, he used the momentum to retreat.
The kunai surged toward Akikaze, who smirked as his Byakugan flared. "Chakra threads? How primitive." With a swift motion, he severed the threads and prepared to repel the kunai again.
"Rasengan!"
Three clones of Gen appeared beside the kunai, each wielding the spinning sphere of chakra.
"Annoying!" Akikaze growled, slicing through the clones in rapid succession.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The clones exploded, leaving behind three fluttering explosive tags.
"Detonate!"
At Gen's command, the tags detonated simultaneously, engulfing the area in flames.
"Madara, now!"
Madara formed hand seals despite the pain, shouting, "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Song!"
Three massive fire dragons roared through the smoke, striking with devastating force.

Gen followed up instantly, weaving seals with astonishing speed. He unleashed a barrage of fire jutsu in quick succession: "Fireball Jutsu," "Great Fire Dragon Jutsu," "Flame Dragon Bomb," and "Flaming Slash."
The relentless chain of explosions obliterated the battlefield.
"Even an elite Jōnin can't survive that," Gen muttered. Despite his confidence, neither he nor Madara let their guard down.
Gen teleported next to Madara, his kunai at the ready. "What's the situation?"
Panting heavily, Madara glanced at his wounds. "I'm almost at my limit. If he's still alive, we're screwed. You can escape with your space-time ninjutsu, but I'm not making it out of here."
Gen's gaze darkened. "Didn't you say you had an ultimate move capable of killing Jōnin? Why haven't you used it yet?"
Madara hesitated. "The Five-Fire God Gate... It's an S-rank jutsu, but it drains nearly all my chakra. I can only use it once, and afterward, I'm completely defenseless. And even then, I'm not sure it'll work against an elite Jōnin."
"Five-Fire God Gate?!" Gen's eyes lit up before he slapped Madara's back. "You idiot! If you'd used that earlier, we'd already be done with this Hyūga!"
Coughing up blood from the slap, Madara glared. "You're just venting frustration, aren't you?"
Gen smirked. "Just use it. I'll ensure it works. When he reappears, immobilize him for two seconds. That's all I need."

As the smoke cleared, a spinning blue chakra dome emerged: Akikaze's Rotation technique.
"As expected," Gen muttered. "Get ready."
Madara nodded grimly, forming a complex series of seals. Slamming his hands into the ground, he roared, "Fire Style: Five-Fire God Gate!"
Rumble!
The earth quaked as five massive, blazing gates erupted, forming a circular prison around Akikaze just as his Rotation ended.
