Chapter 47: Ishihara: Fooling Around! Obito, the Ruthless!
Chapter 47: Ishihara: Fooling Around! Obito, the Ruthless!
"Damn it!"
"Hurry up and phase out!!" Obito's eyes were bloodshot, filled with rage. But the distance between them was too short! And Ishihara’s speed was too fast!
Thud!
Ishihara's hand pierced through Obito’s throat, his momentum driving him through Obito’s body, splattering blood into the air.
"Something's wrong with the sensation!" Ishihara’s heart sank as he turned to look at Obito. He knew his only chance was the first strike—Obito would definitely phase out afterward, leaving no further opportunity.
Obito clutched his throat, his hands soaked in blood, while blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. His breathing was ragged, like a broken bellows, as he glared at Ishihara with murderous intent.
But internally, he was horrified. That was too close! If he hadn’t tilted his head and phased out just in time, he’d have been decapitated! Even so, his throat was nearly severed! If it weren’t for the regenerative power of Hashirama’s cells, he’d already be dead!
"As expected, I failed," Ishihara sighed in disappointment.
"You bastard!!!" Obito tried to shout, but only a mouthful of blood came out.
"I can’t believe his throat has healed this much already!" Ishihara thought, realizing he needed to investigate Hashirama's cells at some point.
Obito flexed his neck, still reeling from the encounter. "Did you just use a space-time jutsu?" Though phrased as a question, he was sure of it. What baffled him was how Ishihara had managed to lock onto his location. Both Kamui and the Flying Thunder God required a marked location to teleport. Yet, Obito was sure Ishihara hadn’t marked him.
"Why don’t you try again and find out?" Ishihara replied calmly.
"Do you take me for an idiot?!" Obito spat, realizing he couldn’t defeat Ishihara and needed to retreat. Ishihara made him too uneasy. But after seeing how Ishihara had suddenly appeared next to him, he didn’t dare act rashly.
"I must figure out how he’s tracking me!" Obito thought, steeling himself for what he knew would be a risky test. "Zetsu! Yagura!"
White Zetsu’s matter began to envelop Obito, forming an armor-like covering. Meanwhile, Isobu was rapidly approaching from the distance.
"What’s he planning? Does he think that thing will protect him?" Ishihara wondered. But seeing Obito charging toward Isobu, he quickly realized what was happening. "Trying to escape?"
He immediately pursued, but Obito kept phasing, making it impossible to land a hit. To Ishihara’s shock, Obito then leaped into Isobu’s mouth.
As he ascended, Obito turned and said two words: "Goodbye!"
Something’s wrong! Ishihara’s expression shifted as he sensed the coordinates on Obito and realized he had solidified. "Space-time jutsu!"
Swish!
Ishihara instantly teleported into Isobu’s mouth, appearing beside Obito, his hand slicing out with lightning speed.
Slash!
He felt the real sensation of hitting something, but it only made Ishihara’s expression change. Was it really this easy to hit Obito? He looked up at him and saw Obito grinning maniacally before his body vanished, reappearing not far away.
"Izanagi?" Ishihara was surprised.
"That’s right! Thanks to this jutsu, I’ve figured out your space-time technique!" Obito laughed, though inwardly relieved. If he hadn’t tested it first, he would have been caught off guard and possibly killed!
Ishihara remained silent, watching him calmly.
Obito sneered, "Space-time jutsu requires coordinates! But there was no Flying Thunder God mark on me. The only connection to you was the chakra you left in my wound! So, your space-time jutsu must lock onto your chakra as a coordinate!"
After hearing this, Ishihara frowned.
Obito’s heart skipped a beat. Did he guess wrong? But Ishihara’s frown deepened as he said, "You went through all that trouble—summoning that white creature, jumping into Isobu’s mouth, using Izanagi—just for this?"
He was exasperated. All that effort from Obito, and this was the result?
Obito’s face turned dark with embarrassment and fury. He had thought his plan was ingenious, only for Ishihara to dismiss it so easily.
"So, are you planning to run away now?" Ishihara asked.
Obito felt his anger boiling over. He had planned to escape, but now, with Ishihara calling it out, it felt humiliating. Yet, staying and risking his life was even less appealing.
In the end, choosing between disgrace and death, Obito chose disgrace. Glaring at Ishihara, he threatened, "This time, you caught me off guard. Next time, I’ll be ready, and I won’t let you off!"
With that, Obito slashed at the part of his arm Ishihara had cut, severing it further. Then, to Ishihara’s shock, Obito tore into his own neck, ripping out the piece of flesh containing Ishihara’s chakra.
The scene was gruesome, but Obito’s face remained cold as he spat, "Next time, it won’t end like today!"
Ishihara’s expression grew colder. He couldn’t sense his chakra in Obito anymore. But seeing Obito’s smug look, Ishihara smirked, "Then you’d better be ready for the new secret technique I’ll develop by then."
Obito’s face stiffened, glaring at Ishihara before sprinting toward Isobu’s esophagus, where the labyrinthine space within would buy him time to warp away to his Kamui dimension.
Knowing this, Ishihara didn’t pursue—the chances of catching Obito were too slim.
