[Hogyoku II - Chakra Core (Chakra Heart)

Characteristics: A chakra heart core made based on biological cloning and cursed seal techniques. After undergoing medical ninjutsu surgery, it can replace a ninja's heart.

Description: This is a highly advanced piece of technology that integrates several exceptional techniques. It has the ability to supply chakra to its user.

Note 1: Depending on the user's needs, the chakra core can have a single chakra nature, and under the physical activity requirements, it will provide chakra of the corresponding nature.

Note 2: The second-generation chakra core can merge two different chakra attributes into one, creating a new chakra attribute variation.

Due to the lack of more Kekkei Genkai samples and research materials, the manufacturing difficulty and failure rate of the second-generation chakra core is high.

If there are any mistakes or oversights in any part of the process, the chakra heart will fail.

Note 3: Even if the chakra heart (chakra core) is successfully created, finding a person who can perfectly match it is very difficult. The person undergoing the surgery needs multiple body modifications.

Kakuzu's acceptance and recognition immediately reflected in Kagetsu's experience. Though the recognition didn't give Kagetsu much inspiration to improve his chakra core, it was still valuable.

At least it confirmed that Kakuzu, who had mastered the forbidden technique Earth Grudge Fear, and had a body modified by this forbidden technique, was indeed highly compatible with the chakra heart. This was true even for the more demanding second-generation Kekkei Genkai chakra heart.

In the Forest:

Kakuzu, having just regained his freedom, was familiarizing himself with his body through battle. His sparring partner was Uchiha Shisui.

Kunai struck Kakuzu's body, making a sharp metallic sound as they hit, as if striking steel.

Even when they collided, Shisui's kunai, tightly gripped in his hand, was crushed by the force of Kakuzu's hand. It was clear that Steel Release not only enhanced Kakuzu's defense but also his strength.

In the intense battle, Kakuzu quickly adapted to his body and the new fighting style.

"This is the scroll that records the Earth Grudge Fear technique."

After the battle ended, Kakuzu satisfied with the outcome summoned the scroll containing the Earth Grudge Fear technique and handed it over to Kagetsu as part of his payment.

Generally, ninjas keep the techniques and jutsu they master as their greatest secret, trying to conceal them as much as possible.

After all, for most ninjas, their intelligence is like a second life! 

Once their secrets are known and targeted, unless it's by someone too powerful to be countered, most ninjas end up suffering from intelligence leaks.

That's why forbidden jutsu like Earth Grudge Fear are as important as life itself to someone like Kakuzu.

It would have been impossible in the past to force him to give up a forbidden jutsu he relied on for survival. However, right now, Kakuzu handed it over willingly.

Though this might allow Kagetsu to understand him better and target him, Kakuzu felt that with his current body, there were no real secrets left. 

Besides, Earth Grudge Fear would be upgraded by Kagetsu anyway. Whether he handed the scroll over or not, it didn't matter much.

By handing it over, Kakuzu could save Kagetsu some time, allowing him to enhance the Earth Grudge Fear technique and further improve his power.

Kakuzu did want to obtain Wood Release, even though it was a weakened version, as Kagetsu described it.

"Also, I'll make sure to repay my debt," Kakuzu said to Kagetsu. "If you have any tasks, I can help during the upgrade of Earth Grudge Fear. The payment will go towards my debt."

"There is indeed a task."

Kakuzu fell silent for a moment, staring at Kagetsu, who had responded quickly and efficiently. It was clear that Kagetsu had already planned how to use him.

Though treating the situation as a complicated transaction, Kakuzu wasn't angry. He simply thought of it as taking on a mission from the Bounty Station.

"I need you to go to the Land of Rain and join a ninja organization called the Akatsuki." Kagetsu wasn't worried that Kakuzu would refuse. As they locked eyes, he smoothly presented the mission requirements.

"A spy? Or should I eliminate them?" Kakuzu nodded, asking for more specific details. He had taken on similar missions before, infiltrating a ninja organization, gathering intelligence, and then exchanging the leader's head for a bounty.

"No, no, no. It's to protect someone, and handle the money!" Kagetsu shook his head, offering Kakuzu an unexpected answer.

"I understand protecting important people, but handling money?" Kakuzu felt something stir inside him.

Kagetsu lightly cut his skin with a kunai and then placed a Healing Tag on the wound, activating it. He demonstrated its effects in front of Kakuzu.

"As you can see, this is another invention from the Technology Development Department—a Healing Tag. It can substitute for some of the duties of medical ninjas on the battlefield and provide emergency treatment for injuries."

While explaining, Kagetsu continued, "The Akatsuki has a ninja skilled in paper ninjutsu, who can quickly and in large quantities produce these Healing Tags. We've formed a partnership with them. We provide the technology, they make the products, and then the money from selling them is split reasonably."

"As far as I know, their organization doesn't have anyone skilled in managing money. You'll be responsible for handling the finances and distributing the earnings."

"This will definitely make a lot of money, right?" Kakuzu was always sharp when it came to money, and he almost immediately realized how much profit this would bring to Kagetsu!

"Once the second heart transplant is completed, you can head to the Land of Rain. I'll provide you with an identification certificate and confirm your long-term salary."

Hearing Kagetsu's words, Kakuzu's dislike for him inexplicably lessened a little. This kid was even offering him a salary!

"Then, I'll use Lava Release. With Earth and Fire, I'll have four different chakra natures." Kakuzu made his decision.
