Chapter 124: Moon
After more than ten days, Chen and the girls returned to Konoha. The entire village was full of life, festive lights, and colors. The residents gathered spontaneously to welcome these heroes who had fought for them.
Hiruzen, walking at the front of the army, displayed a smile full of pride. The sadness on his face had disappeared.
It was a day of celebration, a day to honor those who had survived, but it was also the beginning of darker days. In the following days, Konoha was shrouded in sorrow, and countless ninjas visited the village cemetery to pay homage to the fallen. All of Konoha was in mourning — it was the price left by the war.
While everyone mourned their losses, Chen gathered his girls. With an enigmatic air, he announced that he would be leaving Konoha.
"He's so mysterious, he never tells us everything," murmured Tsunade as she prepared to leave. She had already decided she would follow Chen, leave Konoha, and not look back. She knew that, after everything Chen had done, he wouldn't be welcome here by the Hokage or Danzo.
…
On a cliff in the ninja world, Chen sat at the edge, observing the horizon. He took out a small bottle shaped like a potion, its contents a blue-violet color.
He had waited a long time for this moment, and he was finally ready. It was the perfect super-soldier serum, a gift from the system.
Now he would use it, and afterward, he would go to the moon.
"The system never said how to use this… Could it be oral?" After thinking for a moment, he uncorked the bottle and drank its contents. 'If it needed to be injected, the system would have given me a syringe.'
After drinking it, he felt an intense heat coursing through his body. His marble-like pale skin began to redden, and a slight tingling spread through his limbs.
The heat and sensation lasted for a while before starting to subside.
Chen suddenly opened his eyes.
He wrapped his palm in Armament Haki and struck the air in front of him, creating a sonic boom. Even the space around his fist seemed to distort under the force.
"Perfect!" He estimated that his current power was no less than when he activated the Tenseigan Chakra Mode five years ago.
Tap!
With a clap, he entered Sage Mode in an instant. His body was wrapped in a robe made of photons, a lightning mark appeared on his forehead, and his silver hair glowed with electric sparks.
He had perfected Sage Mode and could activate it in the blink of an eye.
However, despite the power he now possessed, he didn't feel completely satisfied. His strength had doubled, but it still wasn't enough.
Deactivating Sage Mode, he looked up at the moon. Despite it being daytime, he could see the satellite hanging in the blue sky.
"It's time," he murmured coldly.
Without bothering to find the teleportation channel to the moon, he pushed off the edge of the cliff, and just before touching the sea, he vanished in the blink of an eye and appeared on the moon.
"This moon is truly peculiar! There's still oxygen here," he said, taking a breath.
Then, without hesitation, he moved toward the interior of the moon, ready to face whatever awaited him.
…
The floating castle, a luxurious and ancient palace, stood right before him, although in a deplorable state. Its cracked walls and general destruction gave the impression of a great battle, something that didn't align with what Chen had imagined.
"Did it already happen?" he murmured, frowning, his eyes scanning the surroundings as he examined the devastation. Only a few life presences remained on the moon.
Sensing a familiar ocular power in the distance, a spark of excitement shone in his eyes.
"Although I don't know when this civil war started, this is perfect. It'll save me a lot of trouble," he smiled slightly before launching himself at full speed toward the floating castle above him.
…
"Hahaha...! With the Energy Vessel and without those traitors, we can fulfill our ancestors' wishes and destroy that corrupt land," members of the Ōtsutsuki clan's branch laughed wildly, filled with fanatical fervor.
"Really? I don't think you'll get that far. Why don't I send you directly to meet your precious ancestors right now?"
Chen's voice echoed as he appeared behind them. Before the Ōtsutsuki could react, the Red Soul Sword was already in his hands, unsheathed with fierce speed. With a single swing, all their heads rolled to the ground.
He didn't want to give them a chance to counterattack or use any tricks; he exterminated them mercilessly and without delay.
Thus, the last members of the Ōtsutsuki clan were killed by Chen, and poor Toneri now had no hope of being born.
…
In front of him stood the enormous yellow Tenseigan, shining with majestic ocular power, its imposing presence filling the chamber. Seeing it, Chen's heart filled with a burning greed. This ocular power was stronger than his own, a gift that fate had placed before him.
With a confident smile, he approached the massive Tenseigan, placing his hands firmly on the sphere. His own Tenseigan began to shine, emitting a glow similar to that of the stars as the ocular energy flowed forcefully, merging with him.
His entire body was enveloped in pure yellow energy. A wave of heat coursed through his being, as if he were immersing himself in a hot spring. The energy was overwhelming, but Chen welcomed it. He felt stronger with every passing second.
After half an hour of absorbing the energy, the enormous Tenseigan, which had now lost all its ocular power, disintegrated into dust, dissipating into the air as if it had never existed.
!
Still floating, Chen returned to his original position, bringing his hands to his eyes, feeling the burning pain taking hold of them.
A wry smile formed on his lips as he let himself fall to the ground, crossing his legs as he waited for the pain to subside.
'That power... was too much. Truly worthy of being called the Great Tenseigan created from countless Byakugan over thousands of years.'
It took him a long time to regain his composure before standing up. He still needed time to fully digest the enormous power he had acquired.
At every moment, he felt his ocular power increasing within him, and he was sure that once he fully assimilated it, his strength would multiply infinitely.
With his vision now clear, he looked at the five corpses on the ground: three men and two women, very beautiful, by the way. He tried to explore their memories, but found no jutsu or physical skills worth mentioning, which caused him slight disappointment.
"I was hoping to learn something unique from the ancient Ōtsutsuki clan..." he murmured, resigned.
He decided to explore the palace, taking anything that seemed valuable or interesting before leaving it altogether.
Upon leaving the castle, he decided to explore the entire moon before returning to Earth. He walked through the desert lands and the places that had been artificially created, observing the signs of the civil war that had just concluded.
"It doesn't seem like much time has passed since the end of the civil war. The bodies are still scattered everywhere..." he commented with a smile, seeing the numerous lifeless bodies.
As he walked, he suddenly stopped, sensing a figure emerging out of nowhere behind him. He slowly turned with a cold expression.
"Who... are you?"
