Chapter 9: Improvement
Next Day;
Ken woke up from a long, exhausting night. Despite not doing anything, he couldn't help but feel pain all over his body.
This was strange but acceptable, considering what he was doing was upgrading his bloodline.
That wasn't something a person could achieve just because he wanted to.
Even if someone could develop a way to upgrade one's bloodline, it would either take a long time to accomplish it, or it would cost them something even more.
Uchiha Madara and Uchiha Itachi were examples of these cases.
Mangekyo Sharingan was a manifestation of the Uchiha Bloodline of a higher level.
Even if someone went through the same pain and process, that person might not be able to awaken Mangekyo as Itachi did.
But manifesting the power of the bloodline before your bloodline could properly develop was no different than hastily promoting one's bloodline.
That caused Itachi to suffer from Bloodline Disease.
On the other hand, Madara took his time awakening Rinnegan. If he had gone through some extreme mental stimulation, he could've awakened them earlier.
But since he didn't go through any mental stimulation at that time, it took him decades to awaken Rinnegan, but after awakening it, he didn't suffer any kind of backlash.
Except, he was too old to use it.
That's why upgrading the bloodline wasn't an easy thing. The system had to make sure its Host wouldn't suffer any problems from its upgrade.
Hence, the previous night, Ken had to go through several painful experiences.
These experiences began affecting his body through the medium of Chakra. That's why even though he didn't move, he was still feeling pain all over his body.
But, as the pain began to subdue, Ken focused on his body. He began to feel changes.
In an instant, his black eyes changed as red pupils with a single magatama on each eye appeared.
He walked up to the mirror and saw the reflection of himself.
There were no major changes in his body or his Sharingan. But somehow, he could feel powerful energy surging through his Sharingan.
It was Spiritual Energy, and he felt like he could use Genjutsu with a single Tomoe.
This was different than most Uchiha.
Because they needed at least two Tomoe or three to cast Genjutsu.
It wasn't because One-Tomoe was useless. No, it was because One Tomoe couldn't see through Chakra Network that easily.
Even for Two Tomoe, it required some level of concentration to see other's Chakra Network.
More importantly, Genjutsu was a Yin Release. That meant without sufficient Spiritual energy, it was harder to use Genjutsu.
But right now, he has acquired a lot of spiritual energy. So, Ken believed that even with One-Tomoe, he should be able to use Genjutsu.
And this wasn't a typical Jutsu found on a scroll.
It was something that any Sharingan user could use based on their mastery over Yin Release.
But, unfortunately, without any target, Ken couldn't use it. So, shifting his focus from Sharingan, he checked his Chakra Reserves.
This time, he could feel it.
All of that hard training paid off. The immense physical energy that he gathered through hard work was perfectly able to match his improved spiritual energy.
This allowed him to increase his Chakra Reserves massively.
Without even thinking about it much, he decided to open the system panel and check just how much it had increased.

'Great! Not only has my bloodline improved alongside the Fire attribute and Chakra, but even my Jutsu has improved quite a lot.'
'Now, I have three powerful Fire release Jutsu and one body movement Jutsu. Alongside my Shuriken Jutsu and Sharingan, I should be able to take down any Chunin, right?'
He wasn't that sure.
After comparing the memories of Naruto with some of the real battles he went through, he realized only a specific amount of Jutsu was used by those characters from Naruto.
He could understand from the perspective of an author. After all, it would be hard to draw too many fight scenes.
But that couldn't be the same with his world. Even a Chunin would have the arsenal of powerful Ninjutsu, especially at this stage.
They might not be able to use those Jutsu, but they would have it. And, one wrong move, those Jutsu would fall on him.
So, he needed to be more cautious and stronger.
'Currently, I should be able to release at least two Fireballs. This is thanks to my increasing understanding of Fire Release and control over Chakra.'
'But considering how most people have been seen dodging Fireball at close range, it will not be effective. So, Dragon Fire Jutsu will be my trump card, with Phoenix Sage Fire Jutsu assisting me in battle.'
'Compared to Fireball Jutsu, I have less control over it. Still, I can use them as a trump card instead of a Jutsu that can't hit the target.'
Ken couldn't help but feel proud about his growth.
Despite knowing most of it came from the system, he knew he had to work hard to achieve this level of strength.
Even if he had trained a lot before, that only helped when he was able to balance out his physical energy with spiritual energy.
All of that previous training built up a lot of physical energy, but without a powerful bloodline, he couldn't muster enough spiritual energy.
Of course, if he had gone out for missions, fought people, and learned new things, he could've improved as well.
But even without that, he was able to improve thanks to his system.
'Considering we still have three more weeks to train, I believe I can reach at least Special Jonin level by the time we leave the village.'
'Which means even if I come to face with bigger threats, as long as they are not Kage or Elite Jonin, I can fight and retreat.'
Ken clenched his fist and walked away from the mirror. He entered his bathroom, took a bath, and made a lot of food.
It was normal for him since he spent nearly ten to fifteen hours training. After finishing his meal, he walked out of his house and went straight to find his Jonin Sensei.
Along the way, he noticed something. There were fewer Genin in the village. He couldn't even spot a single one despite the village producing so many Genin at this time.
'Has the war become so intense that we need to send so many Genin to the battlefield?'
'If I remember correctly, Obito is one year older than me. He graduated at the age of nine, and I graduated at the age of eight.'
'But Kakashi is clearly of the same age as Obito. So, that means by the time Kakashi is twelve, Obito will be crushed under a rock and give Kakashi his Sharingan.'
'That same year, Iwagakure will lose against Konoha, and the Third Hokage will retire, giving the mantle of the Fourth Hokage to Namikage Minato.'
'Then, one year later, Kushina will be pregnant, and after nine months, Obito will attack Konoha. That will be the turning point of Uchiha.'
'With Minato dead, Danzo and two elders on the tail, Uchiha will get in trouble every single day until the day of Genocide.'
'So, I must stop Obito's attack at any cost. That means I only have six years to get stronger.'
Ken clenched his fists when he thought about it. He wanted to change all of it, but without having enough strength, he could do nothing.
But, as he walked, he retracted those negative thoughts and hid his unwillingness.
He knew he needed to be strong if he wanted to change everything. So, he had no choice but to grow stronger.
Until he was strong enough, he would do nothing but stand aside.
As he continued walking, he eventually reached his training ground, but he was surprised to see he was the last one to arrive.
Because he had always been the first one to arrive, only sometimes Mito arrived faster than him, but Jenzi never arrived early.
He also saw his Sensei and curiously asked.
"What happened, Sensei? Why are you so early today?"
"Can't I arrive early?" Shinku asked with an unhappy face.
"No, no, I am just surprised Jenzi arrived early as well." Ken quickly shifted his attention toward Jenzi, unwilling to suffer in his Sensei's hand.
"That's because I brought him here."
