Naruto: Satoru Uchiha

*He wouldn't actually announce our names, would he?* Kakashi felt a headache coming on as he spotted his old friend, Gai, in the crowd. *Is there anything worse than this?* he thought grimly.

Itachi's presence exuded a faintly simmering aura, one that hinted at suppressed frustration. *What should I do when my brother is unruly?* The answer seemed to settle in his mind: *A good lesson is in order.*

The four of them exchanged glances, silently reaching a shared understanding.

"Are you going to announce our names?" Kakashi muttered.

"Call mine first!" Naruto's voice was enthusiastic, still oblivious to the dread shared by the others. "I'm going to be the last victor!" he declared.

The crowd waited, curiosity piqued by Satoru's dramatic pause. Nobody paid attention to the fact that an Uchiha was hosting such an event; they were too busy wondering who would be competing.

"Who could possibly be participating in a super ramen contest?" one ninja whispered, leaning forward with bated breath.

Satoru's smile grew wider, and he finally continued, "Itachi Uchiha, Sasuke Uchiha, Shisui Uchiha, Naruto Uzumaki, and Kakashi Hatake!"

The names fell into a stunned silence that enveloped the room. Faces turned incredulous as people processed what they had just heard.

*The Uchiha clan… actually joining a ramen contest?* And Kakashi Hatake, often seen as serious and reserved, competing as well? It was surreal. As for Naruto, most refrained from commenting, their gazes cautious.

"Kakashi! My friend!" Gai's voice boomed from somewhere in the crowd. "This is the spirit of youth! I'll cheer you on with my fullest power! You can do it, Kakashi!" His bright smile flashed, all eight of his teeth gleaming.

Kakashi's eye twitched as he pretended not to hear. *I was wrong; there is something worse.* He felt a wave of embarrassment sweep over him and resisted the urge to pull down his forehead protector over his face. 

"Hahaha! This is quite entertaining!" The Third Hokage chuckled, his eyes sparkling with genuine amusement.

"Hokage-sama, with your busy schedule, why attend such an event?" Uchiha Fugaku asked, his tone as measured as ever.

"Why not? It's lively and enjoyable," the Third Hokage replied with a smile. "Besides, didn't you come too, Fugaku? What brought you here?" His tone held a subtle challenge.

Fugaku's expression was unreadable. *Why am I here?* He knew the answer only too well—his son, Satoru, had coaxed him into it. The only reason he hadn't stormed off was his composure and the fact that the Hokage and Chōza Akimichi were also in attendance.

With a sigh, Fugaku responded, "They're my sons. How could I not come to support them?" His smile was tight-lipped, masking the real thoughts running through his mind.

The Third Hokage's eyes glimmered knowingly. *Even you don't fully believe that answer, Fugaku.*

The discussion ended there, the two leaders turning their attention back to the event.

"And now, I officially declare the tournament open!" Satoru's voice rang out, clear and confident. He scanned the crowd, satisfaction gleaming in his eyes. *Everyone looks like they're having a great time!*

He glanced at Kakashi and Shisui, who looked like they were preparing for battle, and felt a surge of pride. *This is perfect,* he thought as the system chimes sounded in his ears.

Bowls of enormous ramen were placed before each contestant, the steaming noodles piled high in bowls almost as tall as Naruto himself.

"Whoa! This is massive!" Naruto's eyes sparkled with excitement as he reached for his chopsticks. "I'm gonna win this!"

Meanwhile, Itachi, Sasuke, and Shisui sat with their heads bowed, feeling the weight of Fugaku's gaze from the judge's table. *How did it come to this?* they each wondered. But fleeing would be even more humiliating than enduring the challenge.

They picked up their chopsticks with resigned determination. *Satoru Uchiha,* they thought collectively, *you'll pay for this.*
