Naruto: Starting with Snatching the Mangekyō Sharingan

Akira wasn't entirely sure of the exact mechanism behind the formation of the Tenseigan, nor whether it followed a specific set of rules. He was merely experimenting, trying a few possibilities.

The outcome didn't matter much to him now.

Akira already knew that by combining Hyūga Hinata's Byakugan with Ōtsutsuki Toneri's chakra, the Tenseigan could be awakened. Because of this, he felt little personal desire for the Great Tenseigan. His initial plan to pursue this path was simply a contingency, one of many backups.

If Hinata's Byakugan and Toneri's chakra failed to properly merge, this would have been one of his alternatives.

Akira leaned toward the theory that the formation of the Great Tenseigan didn't require any strict stacking pattern or some special core component. After all, two Tenseigans had appeared in history—one was purple, created by the branch family of the Ōtsutsuki on the moon through their Byakugan's fusion. The other was gold, a colossal one formed by merging countless Byakugan, enshrined for generations in the Hamura Temple of the Ōtsutsuki clan on the moon.

The golden Tenseigan was incomparably massive, far larger than a tailed beast. The sheer amount of dojutsu power and chakra it contained was beyond imagination.

In comparison, the purple Tenseigan paled in both size and power.

As expected, Akira found that forming the Great Tenseigan didn't require any intricate stacking method. He simply gathered 29 pairs of Byakugan and placed them together. Immediately, they began to react, as if some kind of natural fusion process had been triggered.

The Byakugan floated into the air, converging autonomously into a glowing white sphere.

"They're merging on their own?" Akira murmured, watching the scene with mild surprise.

The Byakugan fused and intertwined seamlessly, forming a misty white orb suspended mid-air. Unlike the purple, gold, or blue Tenseigan he remembered, this new creation emitted a soft, white light and lacked the signature six-pointed ice flower pattern within the pupils.

"This isn't a true Tenseigan," Akira observed. "It's just a special Byakugan in the middle of its evolution."

Rubbing his chin, Akira pondered. "It seems 29 pairs of Byakugan aren't nearly enough to give birth to a Great Tenseigan. No surprise there—on the moon, the entire branch family of the Ōtsutsuki clan had to combine all their eyes to form just one."

Yet another anomaly caught his attention.

"Huh? The size… it's shrunk to that of a normal eye? What's going on here?" Akira leaned in closer, inspecting the transformation.

"Could it be that the Great Tenseigan doesn't form by stacking countless Byakugan into a massive sphere all at once? Perhaps it starts as a standard-sized Tenseigan and grows larger as more Byakugan are fused into it?"

Filing the thought away for later use, Akira carefully implanted this incomplete Tenseigan into the eye socket of one of Hinata's cloned bodies.

Once finished, he destroyed all remaining clones from which the Byakugan had been extracted. No risks could be taken—White Zetsu was known for his infiltrative abilities.

Two days passed swiftly, and Akira reviewed the results of his experiment.

As expected, the dojutsu transplant was a success.

However, the experiment to awaken the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan was less straightforward. It hadn't succeeded outright, but it wasn't a failure either.

The clone implanted with Uchiha Sasuke's cells and infused with Indra's chakra had not rejected the process, but neither had it awakened the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. Instead, its eyes remained in a transitional state, much like the incomplete Tenseigan, requiring further time and a continuous supply of Indra's chakra to complete the transformation.

The key issue, Akira deduced, was compatibility.

While Indra's chakra was indeed crucial for awakening the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, using the Mangekyō Sharingan of a blood relative would have been significantly more efficient.

Without access to a blood relative's Mangekyō Sharingan, Akira had no choice but to settle for an extended process.

"At this rate, it'll take a while," Akira murmured, rubbing his chin. Still, he didn't mind the delay.

Time meant little as long as he could eventually achieve his goal. His next steps were clear: create enough clones, transplant dojutsu into them, and perform the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan awakening process.

Once completed, he'd replace his current eyes with those perfected through this method.

After conducting a few tests, Akira was elated.

Despite being transplanted eyes, they functioned seamlessly, with increased dojutsu power. Both Kamui from Uchiha Obito and his personal dojutsu, Temporal Shadow, worked flawlessly.

Satisfied, Akira mused, "At last, I've truly reached the pinnacle of the shinobi world."

Meanwhile, in the secluded moon realm of the Ōtsutsuki clan…

The clan's former leader had aged significantly in recent months. Excessive use of the Great Tenseigan had drained his life force, leaving him a frail, white-haired elder.

Having barely survived a devastating punch from Akira's Susano'o, the leader was only alive thanks to the clan's use of Yin-Yang Release through the Great Tenseigan's power.

"Clan leader, are you certain about this?" the elderly Ōtsutsuki Jinri asked hesitantly.

He nodded. "In my current state, there's no room for hesitation. Speed is of the essence—we'll channel the Tenseigan's power to open a space-time portal, seize the Byakugan, and retreat."

Understanding the urgency, Jinri offered no further objections.

Since their previous battle with Akira, the Ōtsutsuki on the moon had grown wary of the shinobi world, infiltrating it to gather intelligence.

Through the power of the Tenseigan, acquiring this information had been a simple task. What they learned was deeply concerning: the Rinnegan had already appeared in the ninja world.

If left unchecked, a wielder of the Rinnegan could grow into a serious threat, hindering their execution of Hamura's divine decree.
