Naruto: The Grandmaster's Return

Chapter 1: 1

Chapter 1: Battle at the Valley of the End

The roar of the waterfall at the Valley of the End echoed around them as Naruto stood across from Sasuke, his orange jacket a stark contrast to the gloom hanging over the iconic battleground. Two statues loomed over the raging river, watching silently as history threatened to repeat itself at their feet.

"Sasuke! Come back to the village!" Naruto's voice cracked with desperation. "We're your friends, your family! You don't have to do this!"

Sasuke stood with his back turned to Naruto, his gaze fixed on the horizon. "Why can't you understand, Naruto? This is my path! I need power to defeat him. To kill Itachi."

"This isn't the way! Orochimaru's just using you!" Naruto shouted, fists clenched so tightly his nails dug into his palms. "He doesn't care about you! You're throwing everything away for what? Revenge? You're better than this!"

Sasuke turned, his face twisted with a mixture of anger and frustration. "Better than this? Do you know what it's like, Naruto? To have everything taken from you? My clan, my family... I can't sit around and pretend everything's fine like you do!"

Naruto's gaze hardened, his voice quieter but no less resolute. "I know pain, Sasuke. I know what it's like to be alone. But running away won't solve anything! We can grow stronger together!"

"Tch," Sasuke scoffed. "You wouldn't understand. You've always been an idiot who doesn't know what it takes to achieve real power. You're weak, Naruto."

Naruto flinched but quickly shook it off. His lips curved into a smirk, and his tone shifted, dripping with mockery. "Alright, fine. If that's how you feel..." His smirk widened, his voice turning cutting. "You're just a coward chasing after your brother's shadow. Pathetic, really. All that big talk about being an avenger, and yet... Itachi didn't even care about you when he came to the village. Remember that day? He was after me, not you."

Sasuke's eyes widened, shock briefly replacing his anger. "What did you say?"

"You heard me," Naruto continued, a cruel edge in his voice. "The great Uchiha clan, reduced to nothing by one man. How pitiful. And you? You're no different. Desperate enough to sell your soul to Orochimaru for scraps of power. What would your precious clan think of that, Sasuke?"

"Shut up!" Sasuke shouted, his fists trembling. His chakra flared, dark and malevolent, as the Curse Mark spread further across his body.

Naruto crossed his arms, his smirk never fading. "What's wrong, Sasuke? Did I hit a nerve? Don't look so surprised. You didn't really believe I was some cheerful, happy-go-lucky idiot, did you?"

Sasuke's shock deepened, mingling with anger. "It was all an act?"

Naruto chuckled darkly. "Did you really think we were friends?" He tilted his head, his gaze piercing as he added

Sasuke's breath hitched. His hands clenched into fists, and his teeth ground together.

Before Sasuke could respond, Naruto lunged forward, his speed closing the distance in an instant. Sasuke barely had time to bring up his guard as Naruto's fist came flying toward him.

The two clashed, their movements a blur as they traded punches and kicks. Sasuke's enhanced strength and speed from the Curse Mark made him a formidable opponent, but Naruto's experience in unpredictable fighting kept him just a step ahead.

Naruto ducked under a wide hook and retaliated with an uppercut aimed at Sasuke's jaw. Sasuke twisted his body, narrowly dodging the blow, and countered with a sweeping kick that Naruto leapt over.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto shouted mid-air, summoning two clones to join the fray. The clones rushed Sasuke, one aiming for a flying kick while the other went low for a sweeping strike.

"Tch!" Sasuke growled, spinning on his heel. He blocked the high kick with his forearm and slammed his foot down on the lower clone, dispelling it instantly.

The remaining clone feinted a punch, drawing Sasuke's guard up, while the real Naruto appeared behind him with a roundhouse kick. Sasuke sensed it at the last moment and raised his arm, blocking the kick but skidding back from the force.

"You'll have to do better than that!" Sasuke snarled, his yellow eye glowing ominously. He rushed forward, chakra surging, and unleashed a flurry of kicks and punches. Naruto dodged and parried with incredible precision, but the power behind Sasuke's strikes forced him on the defensive.

Naruto gritted his teeth as a kick grazed his side, the force sending him sliding back. His clones closed in again, one grabbing Sasuke's arm while the other aimed a punch at his stomach. Sasuke twisted, using the captured clone as a shield, and sent a brutal elbow into its face, dispelling it. He immediately followed up with a backhand, shattering the other.

The real Naruto darted in, aiming for Sasuke's ribs, but Sasuke blocked with his forearm and retaliated with a powerful knee to Naruto's gut. Naruto grunted, doubling over, but spun low and swept Sasuke's legs out from under him.

Sasuke caught himself mid-fall with one hand, flipping backward into a crouch. His eyes burned with fury as he glared at Naruto. "You'll regret underestimating me!"

Naruto smirked, wiping a trickle of blood from his mouth. "You're not bad, Sasuke. But this is just the beginning."

The two stared each other down, the roar of the waterfall filling the tense silence between them, each preparing for their next move.

Chapter 2: Misfortune Looms

The tension at the Valley of the End grew thicker as Naruto and Sasuke stood locked in a silent, unyielding glare. The statues of Hashirama and Madara loomed over them, silent witnesses to a conflict that threatened to shape the future of the shinobi world.

Naruto straightened, rolling his shoulders as if to brush off the lingering ache from Sasuke's knee strike. Sasuke, crouched like a predator ready to pounce, tightened his fists. The Curse Mark on his body pulsed ominously, spreading further across his skin, and his Sharingan spun with calculated fury.

"You ready, Naruto?" Sasuke taunted, his voice cold and sharp.

Naruto smirked, his hands loose at his sides. "Always."

In a blur, Sasuke shot forward, his speed staggering as he closed the distance almost instantly. His fist hurtled toward Naruto's face, but Naruto tilted his head slightly, letting the punch graze his cheek. He countered with a quick jab aimed at Sasuke's stomach, but Sasuke twisted his torso mid-strike, narrowly avoiding the blow.

Naruto followed up with a roundhouse kick, but Sasuke ducked under it and retaliated with a sweeping kick of his own, aiming to trip Naruto. Naruto hopped over the strike, bringing his other leg down in a crushing axe kick. Sasuke rolled away just in time, the impact cracking the rocky ground beneath them.

Naruto grinned. "Fast, but not fast enough."

Sasuke didn't reply, instead pulling a kunai from his pouch and launching it with precision. Naruto sidestepped it, but Sasuke was already moving, closing the gap with a flurry of punches and kicks. Each strike was calculated, aimed at Naruto's vital points, but Naruto tanked the blows.

"You think you can just take all my hits?" Sasuke growled, his frustration mounting.

Naruto's smirk didn't waver. "Why not? Go ahead, Sasuke. Hit me with everything you've got."

Sasuke's Sharingan flared, and he leapt back, putting some distance between them. "Fine. Don't say I didn't warn you."

In an instant, he closed the distance, his kunai flashing as it aimed for Naruto's chest.

Naruto swayed to the side, the blade grazing his jacket. He countered with a punch to Sasuke's ribs, but Sasuke spun around the attack, using his free hand to launch a shuriken at Naruto's back.

Naruto didn't flinch. Instead, he allowed the shuriken to hit.

"You're insane," Sasuke muttered, his Sharingan scanning for weaknesses.

"Or just tougher than you," Naruto replied with a grin.

Sasuke pressed the attack, a flurry of punches and kicks flying toward Naruto. His strikes were precise, aimed at Naruto's vitals, but Naruto tanked them with an almost reckless abandon. Each blow landed with brutal force, but the damage only seemed to fuel Naruto's unyielding resolve.

"Enough games!" Sasuke roared, leaping back and forming hand seals in quick succession. "Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!"

Multiple fireballs shot toward Naruto, each one weaving unpredictably through the air. Naruto summoned two shadow clones, each splitting off to intercept the flames. One clone was incinerated instantly, while the other barely managed to redirect a fireball with a kunai before disappearing. Naruto pushed through the remaining flames, his jacket smoldering as he charged straight for Sasuke.

Sasuke anticipated the move, pulling ninja wires taut around kunai scattered across the battlefield. The wires gleamed as they snapped into place, forming a trap around Naruto. With a sharp pull, Sasuke ensnared his rival, tightening the wires around Naruto's torso and arms.

"Got you," Sasuke said coldly, his Sharingan glowing ominously.

Naruto glanced down at the wires and chuckled. "You sure about that?"

In a puff of smoke, the captured Naruto vanished, a clone. The real Naruto appeared behind Sasuke, his fist aimed squarely at Sasuke's back. Sasuke twisted at the last moment, narrowly avoiding the strike, but Naruto's follow-up kick connected, sending Sasuke skidding across the rocky terrain.

Sasuke recovered quickly, his Curse Mark flaring as he stood. One of his Sharingan eyes had turned yellow, and the marks on his skin deepened, signaling the Curse Mark's growing influence. "You're starting to piss me off, Naruto."

---

"Gotcha!" Naruto's fist came crashing down, but Sasuke twisted his body and flipped over Naruto, landing behind him.

Before Naruto could react, Sasuke crouched low, his voice a sharp whisper. "Lion's Barrage!"

Sasuke launched Naruto into the air with a powerful uppercut. As they ascended, Sasuke delivered a series of devastating blows, ending with a brutal kick that sent Naruto crashing to the ground. The force of the impact left a small crater.

Sasuke landed gracefully, his breath steady despite the exertion. "Is this all you've got, Naruto?"

Naruto coughed, rising slowly from the rubble. His jacket was torn, and blood dripped from the corner of his mouth, but his grin remained defiant. "You're gonna have to do better than that."

Snarling, Sasuke dashed forward, a ball of crackling lightning forming in his hand. "Chidori!"

Naruto braced himself, planting his feet firmly. The air around him shimmered with unseen pressure as Sasuke closed in. The Chidori connected with Naruto's chest, sending a surge of electricity through his body. Naruto roared in pain but stood his ground, gripping Sasuke's wrist tightly.

What... are you doing?" Sasuke demanded, his voice trembling with shock.

Naruto gritted his teeth, his grin wild and defiant. "Taking everything you've got."

Sasuke yanked his arm back, freeing himself, and jumped away. His breathing was heavy, his chakra reserves beginning to wane from the continuous use of his Curse Mark and techniques. Yet, Naruto stood there, smoke rising from his scorched body, his eyes filled with an unsettling calm.

"Are you even human?" Sasuke asked, his voice filled with disbelief.

Naruto shrugged. "Does it matter? I'm not here to lose, Sasuke. Not to you."

Sasuke's Curse Mark flared again, spreading across his body as his transformation reached its second stage. His skin darkened to a gray hue, and his hair grew longer and wilder. Bat-like wings sprouted from his back, and his voice deepened, distorted by the Curse Mark's influence.

"This is the end for you," Sasuke said, his voice dripping with malice.

Naruto remained unshaken, his stance unwavering. The unseen force of The Balance surrounded him, subtly altering the flow of the battlefield. Every strike Sasuke had landed, every attack he had dodged, was accumulating, the scales tipping ever so slightly in Naruto's favor.

Sasuke spread his wings wide, taking to the air before diving toward Naruto with a Black Chidori crackling in his hand. The sheer power of the technique shook the valley, and the waterfall roared in protest.

Naruto stood his ground, his expression unreadable as he prepared for the inevitable clash. The battle was far from over, but The Balance was beginning to tip.
