Naruto: Wood-Wood Fruit

Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Karin Sulking

"Back so soon?"

In the inn.

Kiyoshi, busy with his wood clone studying forbidden scrolls, looked up in surprise when he heard Tsunade, Shizune, and Karin knocking at the door.

"Hey, Karin, what's wrong?" Noticing Karin's red-rimmed eyes, as if she'd just been crying, Kiyoshi frowned and asked, "Who upset you?"

A glint of cold, lethal intent flashed through his eyes.

He could mess with his girl, but nobody else could.

"N-No one, you… idiot Kiyoshi."

Karin's cheeks flushed as she stammered, lowering her head in embarrassment. Quickly recovering, she bared her teeth in a mock snarl at Kiyoshi.

"Oh, knock it off, Kiyoshi. Quit with the suspicious glances."

Rolling her eyes, Tsunade rapped Kiyoshi on the head with a flick of her finger. "With me around, who'd dare to mess with Karin besides you?"

"Karin just got emotional while healing someone, she started missing her mother." Shizune explained gently from the side.

Tonton nestled in Shizune's arms also nodded in agreement.

Karin, standing behind, was blushing furiously. Her hands fidgeted as if she wanted to melt into the floor.

Maybe she was being too weak? It had only been two years since she last saw her mom… But she missed her mother so much.

"So that's what happened."

Kiyoshi exhaled, relieved. He'd thought someone had crossed a forbidden line.

"Kiyoshi, here's a mission for you. Think of it as a half-month vacation." Tsunade began, "Take Karin back to the village, let her reunite with her mother, and return in two weeks."

"Now that you've learned the Flying Thunder God Jutsu, you can find us anytime."

"The Flying Thunder God Jutsu?"

Shizune's eyes widened, a trace of shock in her voice as she looked at Kiyoshi, "Not only the Spirit Transformation Jutsu, but you've even mastered that one?"

As Tsunade's old student, Shizune had long learned about the Flying Thunder God Jutsu.

Created by the Second Hokage, it had made him the fastest shinobi of his time. And who could forget the Fourth Hokage's legendary feats?

During a fierce battle, the Fourth Hokage had single-handedly turned the tide, using the Flying Thunder God Jutsu to annihilate fifty elite Iwagakure ninja in an instant, instilling terror across the battlefield.

To avoid further losses, other shinobi villages had even issued orders allowing missions to be abandoned if the Yellow Flash appeared.

"I was just lucky," Kiyoshi replied with a smile.

The Flying Thunder God Jutsu was indeed an impressive skill. However, he was planning to try refining it further to avoid some limitations it had in certain high-stakes battles.

"'Lucky,' huh." Shizune gave him a blank look, thinking to herself when she'd get "lucky" enough to completely master the Yin Seal.

Beside her, Karin looked confused, her embarrassment momentarily forgotten. "Um… what is this Flying Thunder God Jutsu?"

"The Flying Thunder God Jutsu is a space-time jutsu developed by the Second Hokage. By inscribing its mark, the user can teleport to that location instantly, regardless of distance," Tsunade explained lazily, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed.

"But it's highly challenging to learn, as an S-rank jutsu, requiring a special aptitude."

"Even among the Hokages, only the Second and Fourth Hokages have mastered it."

"That powerful?"

Karin's eyes widened in astonishment. This jutsu was beyond anything she'd ever imagined.

Yet, knowing Kiyoshi's talent, she didn't doubt he could master it. There hadn't been a single jutsu yet that he hadn't been able to handle.

"Want to learn it?" Kiyoshi asked with a teasing smile. "If you call me 'Kiyoshi-senpai' I might teach you."

Although he wasn't sure if Karin could handle the Jutsu, he was willing to teach her if she was truly interested.

"Hmph, as if I'd." Karin felt tempted, but she pouted and turned her head away, sulking. This annoying Kiyoshi, always teasing her—why couldn't he be a little gentler?

He was always so kind to Lady Tsunade and Shizune. When they'd first met, he'd been just as gentle with her too, but that had changed over time.

Now he just enjoyed poking fun at her, which only made her angrier because he was so good and so annoyingly charming. It was infuriating.

"Alright, enough playing around." Tsunade cut in, "Kiyoshi, Karin, pack up, it's time to go."

Looking at Kiyoshi, she rolled her eyes again. "I bet you're eager to see your girlfriends back in Konoha too, huh?"

She knew Kiyoshi had two young girlfriends waiting for him in the village. And this cheeky brat had even insisted that one of them—Kurenai, a full-grown woman—was one of them.

"Girlfriends?"

Karin's eyes grew even wider, staring at Kiyoshi in disbelief. She'd never guessed he had girlfriends. And "girlfriends," as in more than one?

Balling her fists in annoyance, she huffed, "Kiyoshi, you're such a shameless player."

"Kids shouldn't meddle in adult affairs." Kiyoshi said, knocking her on the head.

She huffed, glaring at him, but Kiyoshi just laughed, turning back to Tsunade. "Fine, a trip back home sounds good."

It had been a while, a break to see Ino, Tenten, and the others would be nice.

He missed them, especially the lovely, gentle Kurenai-nee. Plus, he couldn't let that bet with Tsunade go to waste.

"Just keep it noted down." Tsunade's eyes darted, feigning innocence as she quickly cut him off.

"Of course," Kiyoshi smirked.

He was definitely collecting on that interest later.

Watching them exchange cryptic glances, Shizune and Karin exchanged looks of their own, sensing an unspoken secret between the two.
