55: The Elite Jonin Battle

Menma and Sasuke's expressions were

solemn and cold. They knew they were facing an enemy far beyond their level.

The power Zabuza wielded was enough to kill them easily. Menma had the

Nine-Tails' power as a backup, even though he hadn't fully released it. The

power of the Three-Tails alone was enough for Menma to sweep most ninjas in the

world. But Sasuke didn't have such an advantage. His hands clenched tightly,

and his lower lip bled from being bitten. Despite the pain, Sasuke remained

unaware, determined to face the threat.

This performance was much stronger

than in the original story.

"It doesn't matter. I will

protect you! You don't need to worry about anything!" Kakashi said,

turning his head slightly to look at Menma, Sasuke, and the others with a

gentle smile. The mask had been pulled down, revealing the scarlet and black

three-tomoe Sharingan (写輪眼). A surge of momentum burst out,

almost offsetting the huge pressure Zabuza had released.

Team 7 felt relieved instantly.

Haruno Sakura even felt like she had escaped death. She realized the true

strength of their instructor, Kakashi, and the gravity of the enemy they were

facing.

'Sharingan! It's really the

Sharingan!' Sasuke thought, filled with shock as he saw the Sharingan in

Kakashi's left eye.

"You four, use the B formation to

protect Dazna-san. Leave the enemy to me," Kakashi instructed.

"Yes!" Menma and the others

responded loudly, forming an encirclement around Dazna to prevent any attacks.

Dazna was just an ordinary person, after all.

"Haha, then let me experience

the power of the Sharingan!" Zabuza smirked coldly, forming hand seals.

"Hidden Mist Technique" (霧隠れの術, Kirigakure no Jutsu). The mist

spread everywhere, quickly covering the previously clear vision with a thick

white fog. Menma and the others couldn't see each other clearly, relying only

on perception to identify positions.

Zabuza's figure was perfectly hidden

in the fog, impossible for ordinary ninjas to find. Even Kakashi, not being a

sensory-type ninja, couldn't pinpoint Zabuza's position. Only Menma could

clearly sense Zabuza's approach.

'12 o'clock position? At this angle

and distance, the target is still the people behind us!' Menma thought. The

Silent Killing Technique (無音殺人術, Muon Satsujin Jutsu), Zabuza's

signature move, was enough to kill most targets easily. Menma's muscles tensed

as he clenched his kunai tightly.

"Swoosh!" The next second, an

approaching figure made no sound. "Here it comes!" Menma sensed it clearly.

"Swish!" The beheading sword (首斬り包丁, Kubikiribōchō) raised high, the

cold blade aimed at their throats.

"Go to hell, little devils!"

Zabuza's eyes gleamed with bloodthirst as the blade descended rapidly, aiming

to kill Menma and the others with one strike. Zabuza believed he could easily

kill these rookies and the old man.

But Zabuza underestimated both Menma

and Kakashi. As the beheading sword hung over their heads, Kakashi's figure

returned at high speed. Simultaneously, Menma, prepared in advance, reacted,

though his speed was far behind Zabuza's. He flipped his kunai, blocking the

beheading sword head-on.

"Keng!" A fierce collision

sound fell, the huge force making Menma's figure sink. He felt a sense of

cracking in his hand. 'It's so heavy!' Menma's expression turned slightly

ferocious, realizing this was a fight of different levels.

"!?" Zabuza was surprised by the

unexpected block. What was even worse was the sharp sound of breaking air from

the right side. Kakashi, who had planned to block Zabuza's attack for Menma and

the others, saw Menma's reaction and turned towards Zabuza's vital position.

An extremely cold front came face to

face with Zabuza. He had no time to suppress Menma, so he forcefully swung

away, blocking Kakashi's attack. Sparks burst out from their clash, waking the

others. Naruto and Sasuke quickly took out kunai, aiming for Zabuza's abdomen

and waist.

Zabuza smiled disdainfully. He

blocked and avoided their attacks with ease, then tried to hide in the fog

again. But Kakashi, with his fully functioning Sharingan, firmly locked onto

Zabuza's position.

The two elite jonin started an

intense fight. The vibrations of their clashes spread out, dazzling Menma,

Naruto, and Sasuke. The high-speed collision was almost impossible for them to

follow.

"Is this the true strength of

Kakashi-sensei?!" Naruto's eyes widened in awe. Such a battle was a rare

high-level collision in the ninja world.
