Chapter 65: Massacre
Chapter
66: Massacre
Even if it was 99% certain that Gato
had no relationship with the Land of Water and the Hidden Mist Village, ninjas
still needed to be cautious when performing missions. Important events that
might involve the Hidden Mist Village, one of the five great nations, required
repeated investigations to achieve 100% confirmation.
Kakashi-sensei, Naruto, and Menma
approached the near point on the left side of the ship. Some crew members on
the deck noticed the three who made no effort to hide their presence.
"Enemy attack! Enemy
attack!" the leading crew member shouted in horror as Kakashi-sensei,
Naruto, and Menma leaped up and quickly jumped onto the bow deck.
"What!?" "An enemy is
attacking? Who's brave enough to do that?" "Hehe, my sword has been
thirsty for a long time. Let's see who's looking for death."
"Brothers, let's kill them!"
Instantly, the whole ship erupted in
noisy shouts. Rough figures swarmed from every corner, each with a ferocious
face. Some held machetes, others long swords, resembling intimidating
gangsters. For ordinary people, they were indeed fearsome. But in front of the
ninjas, they were a joke.
If it weren't for the need to
capture Gato alive, Kakashi-sensei would have used a more lethal Water Release
technique to kill them all. Instead, he decided to let Menma and Naruto handle
it, making it a perfect training opportunity for them.
With a nonchalant air,
Kakashi-sensei moved to the mast and leaned against it. He then performed a
series of hand signs at lightning speed. "Water Release: Water Bullet
Technique!" (水遁・水弾の術, Suiton: Suidan no Jutsu). A massive torrent of water
surged from Kakashi's mouth, crashing into the center of the ship, scattering
the thugs and creating a wet, slippery deck.
Gato appeared with these low-IQ
thugs, biting a cigar. He thought he had the situation under control. With a
touch of sarcasm, he looked at Kakashi-sensei, Menma, and Naruto who stood at
the bow. "Well, who did I think it was? Konoha's ninjas. Zabuza was indeed
a waste, couldn't kill even one person. But I have the last trump card. See if
my men can make you leave. If I'm in a good mood, I might spare your lives. If
not, I'll feed you to the fishes!"
A real fool. Menma knew Gato was an
idiot, but seeing his arrogance in front of ninjas was still incredible.
'There are really people this
stupid...' Menma thought, shaking his head.
"Teacher Kakashi?" Menma
turned his head and glanced at Kakashi-sensei.
Kakashi-sensei, his visible eye
gleaming with excitement, nodded, "Leave it to you two. No need to hold
back." With that, he casually pulled out his book and flipped it open, as
if the upcoming battle were merely a distraction.
"Well." "Oh! Leave it
to us!" Menma and Naruto responded synchronously.
"Boom!" "Boom!"
Their chakra exploded under their
feet as they quickly approached Gato.
"Hmph, stubborn fools, kill
them all! I'll double your pay!" Gato snorted coldly, irritated, and
shouted to the thugs.
"Hey, leave it to us!"
"Haha, brothers, go ahead!" "They're just two kids!"
These thugs didn't take Menma and
Naruto seriously. Driven by Gato's money, they ran towards Menma and Naruto,
howling.
'Stupid!' Menma thought, looking at the rushing thugs. A
strong murderous aura appeared in his eyes as he gently hummed,
"Shua!" A kunai appeared in his palm.
The next second, Menma attacked, entering the enemy camp.
"Puchi!" "Huh?" "Ah?"
"Wow!"
With cold light and rampant movements, Menma was like a
reaper, harvesting the lives of the thugs one after another. Wherever he
passed, no grass grew. Menma showed no mercy. Unlike Naruto, who ran towards
Gato and blasted away anyone who intercepted him without shedding blood, Menma
left a trail of bodies.
"Shadow Clone Technique!" (影分身の術, Kage Bunshin no Jutsu), Naruto shouted, creating multiple clones
that swarmed the thugs. The clones worked in perfect synchronization, disarming
and disabling the enemies with incredible speed.
Menma, moving with deadly precision, targeted the vital
points of his enemies. His kunai flashed under the sun, and each strike was
swift and lethal. The thugs didn't stand a chance.
Less than a minute later, seven or eight people lay in a
pool of blood beside Menma. Seeing his expressionless face and the blood smell,
the thugs finally felt fear.
"Ahhh, devil, devil, he's a devil." "Run
away, run away." "No, we can't deal with this at all."
"Run!"
The thugs screamed, throwing away their weapons and running
to the back of the ship. Some even jumped into the sea, preferring drowning to
facing Menma. They finally realized the gap between themselves and ninjas—a gap
that numbers couldn't bridge. They didn't exist in the same dimension.
Kakashi-sensei, from his spot by the mast, watched with a
satisfied expression. "Not bad," he mused, flipping a page of his
book.
Gato, who had confidently mocked the ninjas a minute ago,
was now pale. Seeing his recruits flee desperately, Gato panicked and trembled
in fear.
"Asshole, bastard, don't run away! I paid you so much
money! Come back, come back!" he screamed, but the heartbroken thugs
wouldn't return.
The moment Gato met Menma's cold eyes, he began shaking
violently.
Menma approached slowly, his presence exuding a chilling
aura. "Gato," he said coldly, "you made a grave mistake thinking
you could control ninjas with mere money."
Gato, sweating and trembling, fell to his knees,
"Please, spare me! I'll give you all my wealth!"
Menma's eyes narrowed, "We'll see about that."
