Night of the Apocalypse

Chapter 63 - Suppression

Shen Qiu did not respond to Beluk’s words; instead, he narrowed his eyes, staring intently at his opponent, looking as if he were facing a formidable enemy.

“Very nice, very nice. I really like that look in your eyes; it’s getting me a bit excited,” Beluk said.

As soon as the words left his mouth, a mad expression appeared on Beluk’s face. His arm muscles tightened, his skin hardened, and he suddenly unleashed an even more terrifying power. The titanium steel long sword in his hand whistled through the air as he swung it directly at Shen Qiu.

Shen Qiu chose not to confront him head-on and quickly retreated.

Crack!

The long sword sliced through the air, creating a powerful gust of wind.

After missing his attack, Beluk swiftly turned his body and kicked toward Shen Qiu’s head while mid-air.

Shen Qiu reacted with incredible speed, raising his left hand, charged with lightning, to block accurately!

Bang!

Beluk’s foot instantly went numb and stiffened for a moment, while Shen Qiu staggered back several steps before stabilizing himself. He then violently shook his left hand, and his expression twisted in pain.

His entire left arm ached intensely, feeling as if it had been struck hard by an iron rod. Shen Qiu even doubted whether his bones might be broken.

However, at that moment, Beluk did not give Shen Qiu any chance to breathe. He charged forward, leaped into the air, and delivered a powerful kick to Shen Qiu’s chest.

Before Shen Qiu could react, he felt a sharp pain in his chest, causing him to stagger back five steps before regaining his balance.

At this point, Beluk approached with his sword drawn, fiercely sweeping it toward Shen Qiu’s right hand, intending to disarm him.

Shen Qiu raised his mechanical blade to block!

Clang!

The two swords clashed, sparks flying in all directions.

The tremendous force of the impact caused the veins on Shen Qiu’s forehead to bulge. He focused his energy and wildly released lightning, injecting it into the mechanical blade to paralyze Beluk.

Quickly, he retracted the mechanical blade and swung it back at Beluk’s head.

At that moment, Beluk, affected by the electric shock, surprisingly moved calmly, stepping back a bit. The sharp mechanical blade narrowly grazed his face, and then he countered with his titanium steel sword, stepping forward decisively.

The sharp blade aimed straight for Shen Qiu’s throat.

Shen Qiu narrowed his eyes, a look of determination flashing in them. He slightly leaned his body and tilted his head!

The sharp blade came perilously close to slicing through his neck.

Taking advantage of this moment, Shen Qiu swung his mechanical blade fiercely at Beluk’s neck, aiming for a killing blow!

In the life-and-death situation, not only did Beluk not panic, but a fanatical smile also appeared at the corner of his mouth.

“Not good!”

Shen Qiu suddenly felt a foreboding sense of danger.

At that moment, Beluk smoothly tossed the titanium steel sword from his right hand to his left, precisely blocking the mechanical blade.

Then, he abruptly raised his foot and kicked Shen Qiu in the stomach.

Shen Qiu instinctively clutched his abdomen, stumbling backward.

The intense pain in his belly made it hard for Shen Qiu to straighten his back.

Beluk displayed a cruel grin, offering Shen Qiu no opportunity to recover, and slashed at him with his sword as Shen Qiu was doubled over.

Fortunately, Shen Qiu rolled sideways just in time to avoid the fatal attack.

Beluk didn’t stop there; instead, he quickly turned and delivered a downward slash aimed at Shen Qiu.

In response, Shen Qiu suddenly pressed his left hand against the ground, propelling himself upward as he leaped, swinging his right mechanical blade toward Beluk’s waist.

Beluk quickly retreated, creating some distance between them.

However, he still didn’t entirely escape, as a cut was made across his clothing.

Beluk glanced at his torn clothing, and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes. He didn’t expect Shen Qiu to be so strong, able to exchange blows with him; it was truly incredible. A normal awakened one would have been cut down by him in just a few moves.

“Impressive! Impressive! I underestimated you. I didn’t expect your strength to be so formidable. If I’m not mistaken, you should be an officer from the Red Alliance’s special operations unit, right?”

Beluk asked with great curiosity.

“Although I would love to say yes, I’m afraid I’m not!”

Shen Qiu replied, breathing a bit heavily.

“It doesn’t matter whether you admit it or not; in the end, you will be the one to die!”

“Not necessarily!”

Shen Qiu’s pupils constricted, and his entire body began to shimmer with lightning. He concentrated, gathering electrical energy into his left hand, which was now radiating with a brilliant glow and an unmatched aura.

Clearly, a direct confrontation was too risky. This guy’s strength was absurd, and his combat experience was incredibly sharp. Going toe-to-toe would definitely lead to defeat, so he could only rely on his innate abilities.

Seeing this, Beluk immediately retreated to create a significant distance.

“Die!”

As he spoke, Shen Qiu raised his left hand towards Major Beluk and swung it fiercely.

To everyone’s surprise, the lightning that Shen Qiu had gathered in his left hand did not blast out as expected; instead, it continued to coil around his hand.

“.”

“How interesting. It seems you must have just awakened not long ago, not even understanding your own abilities. And I actually fell for your bluff; that’s just too ridiculous, ha ha!”

Beluk’s smile grew even brighter, and the aura he radiated became increasingly dangerous.

Shen Qiu’s lips twitched slightly as he quickly made a decision. Seizing the opportunity, he jumped straight into the river and charged toward the opposite bank.

This Major Beluk was far too dangerous. The power system he had awakened was definitely a significant boost to his physical abilities, and combined with his inhuman training, Shen Qiu had little chance of winning.

He had enough self-awareness to understand this.

So running away was the best strategy. Of course, Shen Qiu also kept an eye out; if that guy dared to chase after him in the water, he wouldn’t mind striking back.

However, Beluk didn’t immediately pursue. Instead, he watched Shen Qiu escape to the opposite bank as if he were watching a show.

After Shen Qiu climbed ashore, he waved at Beluk.

“Goodbye!”

“Naive!”

Beluk suddenly leaped, covering a distance of fifteen meters and landing directly in front of Shen Qiu.

“.”

Shen Qiu was taken aback. Was this guy even human? How could he jump so far?

He decisively jumped back into the river and then repeated his previous taunt at Beluk.

“Come down if you have the guts!”

“Do you think I would be stupid enough to go down there? Your little tricks might fool those idiots, but they won’t work on me!”

Beluk laughed even more joyfully, finding it all quite amusing.

“Don’t get too pleased with yourself; you can’t do anything to me either!”

Shen Qiu wore an indifferent expression, willing to just drag it out like this.

“That’s not necessarily true. Get up here!”

Beluk reached into his clothes with his right hand and pulled out a miniature silver handgun from his chest, aiming it at Shen Qiu’s head with a triumphant smile.

Shen Qiu’s lips twitched violently. This guy actually had a gun? For a moment, he felt stuck between a rock and a hard place.

However, Shen Qiu was not so easily intimidated by Beluk; after all, it was possible that the gun was unloaded.

Otherwise, why wouldn’t he have used it right away?

So Shen Qiu decided to take a gamble.

But before Shen Qiu could open his mouth to question him,

Beluk shifted the automatic pistol slightly and pulled the trigger!

Bang!

A bullet shot straight into the river next to Shen Qiu.
