Northern Myanmar: Bloodshed in the Golden Triangle, Have I Become a General?

Chapter 14

Chapter 14: Zhao Renzhou’s Ambush, The Demise of Xiong Wang’s Top General

Zhao Hu put down the rocket launcher he had been carrying.

Watching the exploding flames, he couldn’t help but exclaim, “Is that it?”

“Damn,” he muttered.

“This thing works wonders.”

And indeed, it did.

Around thirty to forty individuals…

All of them were the elite warriors brought by Suo.

These people would give any local militia or government army a headache no matter where they were deployed.

But what they didn’t expect was Zhao Renzhou’s cunning.

He didn’t follow any rules.he immediately used high-explosive anti-tank shells upon arrival.

Around thirty to forty people, not a single shot fired.

They were all turned into charred remains.

Talk about bad luck…

Zhao Renzhou smiled faintly.

He handed the RPG he was holding to his subordinate and looked at Zhao Bao.

“What’s the situation with Xiong Wang?”

Xiong Wang was a nickname.

Nobody remembered his real name anymore.

All they knew was…

This guy kept a brown bear.

He enjoyed feeding the bear with people who offended his dignity.

Over time, they just started calling him Xiong Wang.

Nobody remembered his real name.

Zhao Bao spoke up, “As per your instructions,”

“We’ve spoken to him.”

“The ransom is 200,000 yuan per person,”

“There are six of them.”

“If he agrees,”

“We’ll send the hostages to him.”

“He agreed,” Zhao Renzhou nodded.

He glanced at the several cars that Suo had brought.

Then, he instructed Zhao Hu, “Clean them up.”

“See how many people one car can fit.”

Zhao Hu nodded and took some men over.

First, they took out the drivers and staff who had their throats slit from the cars.

Then, they had people climb into the cars one by one.

Before long, Zhao Hu returned and said, “Big brother,”

“One car,”

“Including the driver,”

“Squeeze in, we can fit fifteen,” Zhao Hu said.

Zhao Renzhou nodded lightly, “Bring sixty people.”

“Fill up those four vans.”

“And get two more jeeps.”

“Bring eight RPGs.”

“Zhao Bao, you stay behind to guard the place.”

“Zhao Hu, come with me.”

Zhao Hu grinned widely, “Alright.”

Zhao Bao frowned slightly, “Be careful with everything.”

Zhao Hu waved his hand dismissively, “Careful? Careful about what?”

“With our equipment,”

“Forget about just one Xiong Wang,”

“We could take on two more without a problem.”

Just for guarding the place, they had forty AKMs.

And two RPGs.

Even if they were up against the government army in town,

They’d catch them off guard with ease.let alone Xiong Wang, whose equipment wasn’t as top-notch.

They were all on an even playing field; who didn’t know that?

If it weren’t for Zhao Renzhou acquiring those AKMs,

They’d still be using bolt-action rifles.

Let alone Xiong Wang…

The group, still riding the high of just defeating Suo and his gang, continued on in their convoy of four vans and two jeeps as they made their way towards Yebei Town.

Behind the pitch-black windows of the vans, nobody could tell that each one was filled with fifteen armed individuals carrying AKMs. And there were four of these vans in total…

Northern Myanmar.

The border.

Yebei Town.

When they arrived here, it had been over an hour since they set off. Yebei Town appeared even more run-down than Jagwei Town, but this kind of deterioration displayed a certain level of ruthlessness and brutality.

People with sinister looks were everywhere.

Unlike Zhao Renzhou’s side, where they prohibited their subordinates from getting involved with narcotics, here you could even see people openly using drugs on the streets, inhaling substances that made them feel heavenly.

The air was filled with a foul odor.

Zhao Renzhou furrowed his brows, rubbing his nose. Then, suddenly, the lead bread van slammed on its brakes, bringing the entire convoy to a halt.

Zhao Renzhou, seated in the middle jeep, said, “Go see what’s going on.”

Zhao Hu nodded, opened the door, and stepped out of the vehicle.

Up ahead, the lead bread van had collided with a sudden swerving off-road vehicle. The collision had deformed the off-road vehicle’s door, and the occupants inside were cursing and kicking the door.

With a loud crash, the door was kicked off entirely, revealing a burly man standing at around two meters tall, covered in colorful tattoos all over his body.

He cursed and walked out, saying, “Tired of living, huh?!”

“You dare crash into my car?!”

This guy looked like a gangster and acted like one too. Zhao Hu approached from behind and said, “Hey, isn’t this our old friend Baru?”

“Why didn’t you bring your eyes when you left home?”

“A convoy this big, and you still run into it?”

The towering two-meter tall man, Baru, squinted his eyes and said, “Zhao Hu…”

“Why are you guys here?”

Baru couldn’t help but feel a sense of caution. This many vehicles… didn’t seem like they were just passing through.

Almost instinctively, Baru’s hand reached for his waist, and his two companions in the vehicle also jumped out, looking nervous when they saw Baru’s tension.

Zhao Hu grinned widely and said, “Don’t be so nervous.”

“We have an arrangement with Xiong Wang.”

“We’re here for a delivery.”

Baru remained skeptical, “A delivery?”

He truly had no idea about this.

Zhao Hu chuckled, “My big brother is in the car.”

“If you don’t believe me, you can ask him.”

He pointed towards the jeep, and Baru slightly turned to look. Indeed, it was Zhao Renzhou, and Zhao Renzhou even waved to him.

Baru let go of some of his guard, slowly lowering his hand from his waist. He gave Zhao Hu, who was wearing a friendly smile, a brief glance, signaling his two companions to stand down.

Baru then walked towards Zhao Renzhou, who was beckoning.

On the other side, Zhao Hu observed the still-wary two companions and took out a pack of cigarettes, tossing it their way. “Here, have a couple,” he said, searching for a lighter on himself.

As Baru approached the jeep, he barely had a chance to bend down and speak before Zhao Renzhou suddenly smiled coldly.

*Bang!*

A muffled grunt.

*Bang! Bang!*

Two more shots.

Baru’s face turned incredulous as three large holes appeared in the jeep’s door. The Desert Eagle, modified with a suppressor, had shown no mercy, piercing through the door and piercing Baru’s body without hesitation.

The 12.7mm large-caliber bullets, upon hitting Baru’s abdomen, caused a massive impact that shredded his intestines into pieces, sending bits of flesh and gore out from his back.

Both of his kidneys took two shots each.

Baru’s life was hanging by a thread.

With blood trickling from the corners of his mouth, he summoned all his remaining strength, clawing at the jeep’s door. He stared at Zhao Renzhou with unyielding eyes, struggling to speak amidst coughing up blood.

“You… *cough*…”

“You…”

Baru’s strength rapidly dwindled. His lips twitched slightly, trying to utter something, but all that came out was a continuous coughing of blood.

Zhao Renzhou slowly raised the gun, neither hurried nor impatient, extending it out of the window and aiming it at Baru’s head.

“Don’t resist,” he said.

“Really…” Baru began.

Bang!

Blood splattered in all directions, the red and white hues piercing through the skull up close. At such a short distance, you could distinctly hear the bone-cracking sound as it was penetrated by the impact.

Baru stared wide-eyed, a look of resentment on his face, slowly toppling backward.

Meanwhile, in front of him, Zhao Hu, at an unknown moment, slit the throats of two henchmen.

One of them accidentally severed an artery, and blood gushed out instantly, spraying four or five meters away like a fountain. Zhao Hu bent down, wiping his knife on one of the bodies.

“Damn it,” he muttered, “my hands are dirty.”

Disdainfully, he kicked the bodies of the two henchmen to the side and reinserted his knife.

“Clean the car windows,” he ordered.

“They’re all covered in blood.”

“We’ll clean it up later.”
