“That’s wilder than I expected!”
I thought being a Count meant having a respectable title and a hefty purse, but that was just my naive misconception.
“I’m not eating this!”
“Aida, there are tons of folks outside who are starving with even less than this! Stop your fussing.”
My little sister Aida flung the bread aside and started wailing, while our father, Count Bradley Somerset, gave her a disapproving glare.
I glanced at the food in front of me, thinking that dining in a noble family might look like a regular household.
On the table was a watery soup that could pass for a mystery potion, along with bread so hard it might as well be a rock.
Honestly, these were not even fit for a child’s appetite!
Determined to eat something, I tried dipping the bread into the soup, but just as I tore it apart—
