Chapter 14: Chapter 14: The Despondent Pandora Moves Out!
"Boom boom boom!"
Yaruru tightly gripped his massive weapon as he approached, making eye contact with Yoruuru.
Although under Roy's control, Linlin hadn't committed the unforgivable mistakes of the original story, and Yoruuru had survived, the damage to the village wasn't as severe. However, Yoruuru's gaze conveyed many things.
"She's a born demon, and must be punished. Don't treat her like a child. If we leave her unchecked, she will become a source of disaster," Yoruuru said, holding his sword, ready to strike.
"She doesn't deserve the mercy of the sun! She even harmed her closest companions, and she could hurt women and children too. She's the incarnation of an evil god, she must not be spared!" Yaruru raised his sword, glaring at Linlin, who was still fast asleep.
If this wasn't Elbaf, if Roy hadn't lured Linlin away, if this were an ordinary human kingdom, the villagers would be facing nothing but rubble, flames, and long-dead bodies.
Before Linlin had been abandoned by her parents, she must have caused similar chaos in her home country due to her unintentional cannibalistic tendencies.
Roy stood aside, holding Pandora, gently rubbing it while observing the sleeping Linlin, then glancing at Yaruru and Yoruuru.
As expected, the nun stepped forward, standing between Linlin and the giants, blocking their swords.
"Please, have mercy, Lord Yaruru, Lord Yoruuru!" The nun spread her arms, standing protectively in front of Linlin, pleading with the two giants.
The nun was begging for Linlin, and Roy continued to rub Pandora, silently observing the situation in the village.
Most of the giant children were staring fearfully at the sleeping Linlin, while some of the adult giants who had been hurt by Linlin were nursing their injuries, some holding their arms, others lying on the ground groaning in pain, and some leaning against walls.
The giants' gazes towards Linlin showed no attempts to conceal their disgust, their faces filled with hatred as they watched her.
In the past, they would forgive Linlin for her mistakes, even if she had accidentally broken a few ribs. But this time, the offense was too much. Even if no one died, the psychological toll was evident—there was only caution and distance from Linlin.
There's a saying that goes, "Forgiveness also has its limits."
Linlin had crossed the line.
Roy looked down at Pandora, who was looking distressed, and lightly patted it. They were moving out.
The nun, trying to protect Linlin, stared at Yaruru and said, "Linlin, like other children, is an abandoned child who came to the Lamb's House out of pure misfortune!"
"I won't abandon her!"
Roy sighed, as expected from a woman who had been colluding with the World Government for decades, deceiving the giants of Elbaf.
Once these words were spoken, the orphaned children of the Lamb's House, who had once feared Linlin, now felt sympathy for her and connected with her suffering.
"What do you plan to do?" Yaruru asked, looking down at the nun.
"I'll take this child and leave here!" the nun shouted.
"Galmero!"
The giants in the village were shocked, as they respected the nun. Though they despised Linlin, they held great reverence for her.
Roy tugged on Pandora's face, realizing that the nun had chosen to leave Elbaf and make a deal with the World Government to sell Linlin.
Haeldin and Gears quickly glanced at Roy, suddenly feeling a sense of loss.
They often visited the Lamb's House and were on good terms with Roy, but after today, Roy would be leaving with the nun.
Redin walked over, sitting beside Roy.
He sighed, remembering the first time he met the small boy.
He had taken a while to notice such a tiny figure. Back then, when Roy had gazed up at him with a face full of "desire" while holding a giant weapon, Redin thought to himself, "This kid is so weak."
Yet, after ten months, Roy's growing talents had proven him wrong, demonstrating that even small bodies could harbor the potential of monsters.
Redin felt genuinely pleased, but now this kid was about to leave.
"Kid, why not stay? I'll adopt you," Redin said, looking at Roy with anticipation.
He couldn't help but feel a little sentimental about the small one.
Although at the start, Roy had been used as a practice partner for Haeldin, the thought of Roy leaving made Redin feel a sense of loss.
"The nun treats us really well. I want to stay with her," Roy said, rubbing Pandora and lifting it up. "Look, the nun gave me this as a birthday gift."
Redin looked at Roy and the nun, marveling at how generous she was.
The nun froze but thought to herself, "I'll eventually sell Roy and Linlin to the CP Organization, so I might as well not argue now."
She simply nodded in agreement.
Roy grinned mischievously.
Pandora looked incredulously at the nun. "She really gave it to you?"
Finally, Yoruuru and Yaruru delivered a stern warning, "Get her out of our sight!" and then turned to leave, signaling the end of the cannibalism crisis.
Roy looked at Yaruru leaving and thought to himself that even if Linlin was asleep, she wouldn't be able to break through his defense.
The next morning.
Roy packed his belongings, with a personified sun floating behind him as he prepared everything for departure.
"Let's go, little sun," Roy said, shouldering his pack and heading out of the Lamb's House.
"I told you, I'm Pandora, not little sun!" Pandora flew behind him, fuming.
"Okay, I got it, Prometheus," Roy said, standing at the door and feeling the warm breeze.
Today's weather was much better; what a magical new world—Winter Solstice, and it was this warm!
"I'm Pandora!" Pandora flew in front of him, baring its teeth.
"Got it, Atlas~"
"Pandora!"
"Sure, Themis~"
"!!!"
Pandora was shocked by the shameless little kid. Not only did he give it random names, but now he was even naming it after female deities?
"I'll burn you!" Pandora opened its mouth, ready to spew flames at Roy.
Roy grabbed Pandora, and the fire didn't even get past his defense, leaving Pandora with a sense of utter despair.
"Everyone ready?" the nun came out, looking at the kids gathered at the door.
"We're ready, nun!" the children replied in unison.
Linlin, confused, looked around as she packed her things. She didn't understand why they were moving out all of a sudden.
A giant stood a short distance away, smiling and greeting Roy and the nun. He was leading them to the island's coast, where a giant ship was waiting to take them away. Some other giants would help build a new house for the nun at their destination.
"Hmm!" The giant glanced coldly at Linlin, who was walking toward him, and snorted before turning and walking away.
