One Piece : Herald of the Abyss

Chapter 9: Chapter 9 : “The World Learns About the Abyss”

Days Later

The Marine Headquarters is a hub of activity as Vice Admiral Garp arrives, his battered coat and stern expression drawing the attention of officers and recruits alike. The damage to his attire and his solemn demeanor are enough to silence even the most curious whispers.

Inside the grand strategy room, Fleet Admiral Kong waits, his powerful frame seated behind a massive desk.

Fleet Admiral Kong : "Garp, you're late. What's the situation?"

Garp : "Kael Draymour. He's no ordinary rookie. Mythical Zoan, a dragon—something I've never seen before. Strong, ruthless, and dangerous." Garp speaks to Marshal Kong

Fleet Admiral Kong : "Another monster rising from the depths. Just what we needed. And you're sure about this? A Mythical Zoan? They're rare enough to be considered legends."

Garp : "Rare or not, I fought him myself. This one's real. His power isn't just strength; it's chaos. He doesn't fight for treasure or glory. He fights to destroy."

As Garp and Kong discuss strategy, a Marine messenger bursts into the room, a rolled-up newspaper clutched tightly in his hands.

Marine Lieutenant : "Sir! Urgent news from World Economy News Paper!"

He hands the paper to Garp, who unfurls it. The front page displays a dramatic photo of Kael in his dragon form, purple flames swirling around him, his glowing ribs ominously visible. The headline reads:

"MONSTER OF THE ABYSS: KAEL DRAYMOUR CLASHES WITH NAVY HEADQUARTER VICE ADMIRAL GARP!"

The article details the destruction of the Marine ship, the battle's intensity, and Kael's escape, painting the pirate as a terrifying new threat.

Garp : "Dammit. These people are faster than we are." cursed garp.

Kong leans back in his chair, his eyes narrowing.

Fleet Admiral Kong : "Now the world knows. Pirates will either fear him or flock to his banner."

Somewhere on the east blue sea

Kael sits on the deck of his small ship, the wind carrying the scent of the open sea. A newspaper delivered by a News Coo lands on his armrest. He picks it up, his golden eyes scanning the headline and the photo of his dragon form.

A small smirk crosses his face.

Kael : "They talk about me as if I'm a force of nature. Perhaps they're not wrong."

He folds the paper and stares out at the horizon.

Back to Navy Headquarters

Back at Marine Headquarters, Kong issues orders to his officers.

Fleet Admiral Kong : "Increase patrols near the East Blue. And increase the bounty on Kael Draymour. Make it clear to the world that this isn't someone to take lightly." Ordered Kong

Marine Lieutenant : "Understood, Fleet Admiral. What's the bounty amount?"

Kong looks at Garp, who nods.

.

Days Later

Fleet Admiral Kong looks at the freshly printed bounty poster that has just arrived. The image is a chilling sketch of Kael in mid-transformation, half-human, half-dragon, with glowing ribs visible through black scales and purple fire in the background.

The bounty reads:

Kael Draymour "The Abyss Dragon"

700,000,000 Berries

Kong slams the poster onto the table, his face grim.

Admiral Sengoku : "Every ambitious pirate in the world will see this as a challenge. They'll want to either surpass him or join him."

.

New World

Onboard the Rocks Pirates' ship, Rocks D. Xebec sits in his massive captain's chair, the bounty poster in his hand. Around him, his crew, an infamous collection of the strongest pirates in the world study the image with interest.

Rock : "A 700 million berry rookie? Now, that's something worth paying attention to." rocks says with a grin on his face

Whitebeard, leaning against the ship's railing, takes a swig from his sake cup.

Whitebeard : "Gurararara….Strong, sure. But let's see if he can survive long enough to prove he's worth that price." laugh whitebeard.

Rocks laughs, the sound reverberating through the ship.

Charlotte Linlin : "He's a dragon, huh? Dragons have power... and power can be taken."

Kaido, still young but already a fearsome presence, glares at the poster.

Kaido : "If he's really that strong, I'll find him. A battle like that will tell me if he's worth remembering."

Rock : "Let the Marines panic. Let the world shake. And let's see if this 'Abyss Dragon' has the guts to challenge us."

.

.

Grand Line near New World

On the deck of the Oro Jackson, Gol D. Roger sits cross-legged with the bounty poster in hand, a grin plastered across his face.

Roger : "A dragon, huh? That's new. And Garp couldn't stop him? Now that's interesting."

Rayleigh leans over Roger's shoulder, his calm demeanor masking his curiosity.

Rayleigh : "If he's already causing this much trouble, he might cross paths with us soon enough."

At Kael Ship

Kael sits in a quiet, A News Coo drops the latest paper on his lap, and he unfolds it, revealing his own bounty poster.

He stares at it, his expression unreadable.

Kael : "700 million... A price for my head, and a message to the world. Good. Let them come. The more chaos they bring, the stronger the abyss becomes."

He rises, tossing the poster into the wind as it flutters away into the night.

Hours Later

After a couple of days….

The waves crash gently against the shores of Syrup Village as Kael's ship sails into view, casting an ominous silhouette. The village now falls silent as the townsfolk notice the familiar figure standing on the ship's deck.

Villagers : "It's him... He's back."

Villagers 2 : "Did you see the papers? He fought Vice Admiral Garp. They say he's a monster... a dragon!"

The bustling market slows to a crawl as merchants hurriedly pack up their stalls, mothers pull their children inside, and doors are bolted shut. Kael steps off the ship, his towering presence commanding fear. His golden eyes, glowing faintly, scan the village.

Kael strides through the quiet streets of Syrup Village, heading toward the shipwright's workshop.

Shipwright : "Ah, you're back. I was wondering when you'd show up again."

Kael steps closer, his purple eyes scanning the nearly completed ship resting in the drydock. The massive vessel is as imposing as its owner, a sleek black hull reinforced with dark metal, intricate dragon-themed carvings along the sides, and a prow shaped like a dragon's head, mouth open as if ready to roar.

Kael : "Is it ready?"

The shipwright nods, a hint of pride in his voice despite his wariness.

Shipwright : "Almost. Just a few more details to iron out. Reinforcing the keel with the adam wood you brought took some time, but this beauty's nearly seaworthy. Should be done by tomorrow."

Kael steps closer to inspect the ship, running his fingers along the smooth wood.

Kael : "You've done good work."

The shipwright blinks, startled by the rare praise, then quickly regains his composure.

Shipwright : "Come back tomorrow, and she'll be ready to set sail."

Kael gives a slight nod before turning to leave.

As Kael walks away from the workshop, he glances back at the ship one last time.

Kael : "A ship worthy of the abyss. With this, the seas will tremble even more."

The sound of hammering resumes as Kael disappears into the distance, his figure casting a long shadow over the quiet village.
