Chapter 27: Sitting at Home and Trouble Comes from the Sky

"Boy, are you the mysterious swordsman who appeared in Food City on the island?"

The Golden Lion, who had been friendly until recently, suddenly unleashed his Conqueror's Haki, aiming it at Charlotte.

The change in attitude was like a master of disguise.

Charlotte felt a great pressure due to the Golden Lion's Conqueror's Haki.

This is the legendary Conqueror's Haki, the rarest of all, which cannot be acquired through training but is a mark of a true king's potential.

"I'm not!"

Charlotte, enduring the enormous pressure, responded through gritted teeth. He could never admit to something like that, not even if it killed him.

"Ha ha ha! Boy, you're still lying? You're not being honest!"

The Golden Lion unleashed his Conqueror's Haki again, increasing the pressure on Charlotte.

Under the power of this Conqueror's Haki, many people in the port began to faint, their eyes rolling back and foam forming at their mouths.

Truly a devastating power to eliminate the weak.

The Golden Lion watched Charlotte with interest, seeing him continue to struggle to resist.

The tenacity of this young man, the innate resilience, is what defines true strength.

The others also seemed promising.

"Let me see how far the potential of this group of young people goes," the Golden Lion said coldly.

"Boy, the weak have no right to survive. If you deceive me, you will die."

Charlotte felt the terrifying murderous intent of the Golden Lion.

Did this madman really plan to kill him?

The Golden Lion slowly raised his sword.

Ivan, Lina, Beta, and the others were staggering but standing firm, gritting their teeth against the enormous pressure.

In an instant, Charlotte's emotions were intensely stirred.

This place is his second home in a very real sense.

Friends, family, memories, all had given comfort to this foreigner, turning it into sacred ground in his heart, filled with thoughts and love for his homeland.

And he just wanted to live a safe and peaceful life. What was wrong with that?

Indignation and humiliation intertwined in his heart.

"Damn it!"

Charlotte's face turned fierce, losing all his usual elegance.

A powerful aura burst forth, black sparks crossed, electric sparks flashed, and an imposing wave of Conqueror's Haki erupted, impacting everything around him.

Under the collision of two Conqueror's Haki, Ivan and the others finally lost consciousness.

In an instant, the entire area was covered, and astonishing celestial phenomena shook hearts.

Seeing that Charlotte had unconsciously released his Conqueror's Haki, the Golden Lion's expression became serious.

The two terrifying Conqueror's Haki clashed for a few moments before disappearing.

Charlotte was panting heavily.

The Golden Lion, however, smiled calmly.

It's normal to consume a lot of energy the first time you awaken Conqueror's Haki.

"Hiberfield Charlotte, not bad!" The Golden Lion remained as arrogant as ever.

Then he changed his tone.

"Boy, join my flying pirate crew."

The Golden Lion finally made his offer. This was his ultimate goal.

As for whether he could continue to suppress Charlotte, he is the Golden Lion.

Charlotte sneered.

Be a pirate?

There's no future in that!

"Sorry, I've never considered being a pirate."

Charlotte firmly refused, without hesitation.

Hearing this, the Golden Lion's eyes gleamed with a dangerous light.

The Golden Lion's face darkened, losing his previous friendliness. "Boy, this is not a negotiation. The weak have no right to speak."

Charlotte remained silent.

He really didn't want to be a pirate because there was no advantage in it.

But faced with the Golden Lion, Charlotte knew well that if you can't beat them, join them, so he stopped thinking and agreed.

Like a hopeless fish, he accepted his fate.

"Fine! I'll join."

The truth is, he was too young and couldn't beat this guy.

What a problem!

So he decided to accept and live with it.

"Ha ha ha! Welcome aboard, Charlotte!"

The Golden Lion smiled in satisfaction.

Charlotte was resigned. Now he had become a pirate by force!

Thinking about being hunted by the Navy gave him chills.

Being a pirate is not safe at all!

The Golden Lion floated closer slowly.

Charlotte looked around and silently stepped aside.

The Golden Lion nodded with satisfaction and said:

"This place has grown well; it seems you have other talents."

Charlotte got nervous. Though it sounded like a compliment, depending on who said it, it could be unsettling.

"Captain Shiki, this is the work of my subordinates, it has little to do with me."

Charlotte hesitated a bit and explained to the Golden Lion.

The Golden Lion, hearing the word "captain," looked at Charlotte.

With his eyes fixed on him, he smiled broadly.

"Now that you're a member of my crew, we're family. I won't take your men."

The Golden Lion smiled broadly. This time he was very satisfied with the result.

In front of all the crew members, he announced loudly:

"Hiberfield Charlotte will be the captain of the sixth division of our flying pirate crew!"

Shiki's voice echoed throughout the area.

Announcing loudly the arrival of an important new member to his crew.

—— Captain of the sixth division, Hiberfield Charlotte.

No one objected to the Golden Lion's decision.

After all, many had witnessed Charlotte's power.

Facing Captain Shiki directly, even if he lost, his strength was enough to earn respect.

The strong are not measured by their age.

Cheers and applause filled the air.

Kikiya sighed, Charlotte was truly a monster. Even the captain of the first and second divisions didn't have that power, and Charlotte's future would be even more formidable.

Someone like that couldn't stay hidden in the sea.

Charlotte was overwhelmed, looking at the Golden Lion.

He was really in trouble, how frustrating!

The powerful crew of the Golden Lion had gained a sixth captain, news that would shake the world.

Charlotte closed his eyes with resignation.

He couldn't imagine what the newspapers would say the next day.

The name of Hiberfield Charlotte would resonate in the seas, but as a pirate.

He would face the relentless pursuit of the Navy.

The Golden Lion was unaware of Charlotte's thoughts, and even if he knew, he wouldn't care.

In front of everyone, he said loudly:

"Let's have a party! Let's celebrate Charlotte joining our flying pirate crew!"

"Ha ha ha! It's a good reason to celebrate!" Said Moggy, captain of the fourth division, cheerfully.

"Alright." Dakso, the swordsman of the fifth division, said enthusiastically.

The Golden Lion was in a very good mood.

For Charlotte, being a pirate brought no happiness. He had never planned to be one.

It really is like sitting at home and trouble falls from the sky!
