Chapter 45: Learning the Worst: Imitating the Tenryuubito

Chapter 45: Learning the Worst: Imitating the Tenryuubito

The culprit is King Ulun of the Kingdom of Eleon. A tyrannical, cruel, and greedy man. It's not surprising that he dared to steal from the Golden Lion; he's the type who values money more than his own life.

The remaining villagers heard that the pirates were distributing food. They opened their doors and gathered in front of Charlotte and the others. These villagers were also pale, emaciated, and skeletal. They received the food peacefully and orderly. As they voraciously ate this hard-to-get food, one by one, they began to cry loudly.

In this kingdom filled with chaos, cruelty, and oppression, the commoners preferred death over living. The hanging corpses were to intimidate the rebels and warn others.

An old man, thin and weak, approached Charlotte and suddenly knelt, crying bitterly, "Please, Mr. Pirate, save us!" With the old man kneeling, the others also knelt, crying uncontrollably. Charlotte looked at the villagers and was stunned.

It was the first time anyone had asked a pirate for help, except for Luffy, who was a special case, a true "bug". Charlotte nodded calmly. His original mission was to kill the king of the Kingdom of Eleon, so saving the people was an additional benefit. Initially, he had some doubts, but killing such trash didn't seem so bad anymore.

After leaving enough food for the village, Charlotte and his group continued their journey, heading straight for the capital. Upon arrival, they were slightly surprised by the scene they saw. The road was filled with ruined villages, desolate fields, a picture of devastation caused by war. But here, the capital was completely different: luxurious and beautiful buildings, even with fresh flowers blooming.

The streets were impeccably clean, without a trace of trash, and the shops on the sides of the streets were neat and well-organized. The houses were painted white with blue roofs, giving them a majestic look. And in the center, the gate of the royal palace, a new 15-meter-high arch with the words "The Great and Sacred King of Eleon" in colorful letters.

Suddenly, Charlotte thought of many things. A king who didn't care about others' lives, only enjoying his tyrannical kingdom. As for the color of the houses… Charlotte felt a sense of familiarity. He suddenly realized. This must be an imitation of the Holy Land Mariejois's decoration style.

Before he could do anything, a burly man with a chained neck appeared on the street, humbly pulling a luxurious carriage like an animal. Charlotte looked coldly, thinking about the absurdity of imitating the Tenryuubito. The Tenryuubito are despised by everyone. But it can't be denied that, although some Tenryuubito are idiots, there are also elites among them, otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to control the world for 800 years.

This is one of the reasons why Charlotte wanted to keep a low profile; you never know how many hidden cards they have after 800 years of accumulation. The pedestrians on both sides of the street knelt humbly. It seems that there are despicable nobles everywhere like these, it's really irritating. Ridiculous imitators, thinking they are Tenryuubito. The nobles of this kingdom also don't deserve to exist.

But this is normal. The Tenryuubito in this sea call themselves "gods," with supreme power. It's not uncommon for some kingdoms and nobles to imitate the Tenryuubito's behavior.

"Idiots, who are you! How dare you look at the nobles?" Charlotte coldly looked at the butler in the carriage who spoke arrogantly.

"Go in and destroy them."

At Charlotte's order, the Hiberfield pirate crew, who could no longer contain themselves, charged fiercely.

"Idiot, do you dare bark at my boss?" Beta raged. With a terrifying punch, he destroyed the butler and the carriage in an instant.

In an instant, the street fell into chaos, with countless people screaming and running. Barrett advanced and broke the slave's collar, freeing him. Charlotte didn't stop him; in his observation, that collar was ordinary and had no explosives.

But his expression was grim; the Tenryuubito's slave collars carry explosives. If they put it on you, it's a serious problem. If you don't have the key, you can use the Armament Haki technique "Internal Destruction." However, Charlotte had not yet developed his Armament Haki enough.

In an instant, Charlotte thought of many things. The battle cries resounded, and a large number of guards appeared, advancing towards Charlotte and the others. But against Charlotte's meticulous formation and training, many members at least could use one or two of the Rokushiki techniques, and the enemies were much weaker.

Beta and Barrett advanced, killing anyone who approached Charlotte. The enemies' cries echoed all along the way. Charlotte's men wouldn't kill innocent and unarmed people; the Hiberfield clan members would never do such a vile thing.

Charlotte advanced indifferently towards the grand palace.

"King, we're in trouble, the pirates have entered, the guards have been defeated!"

With the soldiers' report, the nobles in the grand hall trembled.

"Damn! Damn! Useless fools, what use are you!"

A middle-aged man, fat and with disheveled hair, was in the empty grand hall, roaring at the nobles. He was Ulun, the source of tyranny and evil in this kingdom.

"Crack!"

With a crisp sound, the huge and luxurious palace door broke, and light suddenly entered, followed by an explosion. Charlotte entered slowly.

"Damn pirates, we are a kingdom that will join the World Government, how dare you!"

Hearing King Ulun's roars, Charlotte impatiently cleaned his ears.

"I'm from the Flying Pirates, Captain Shiki has already given you a death order, you won't survive."

At times like this, Charlotte wouldn't use the Hiberfield name; if there were problems, they'd go after the Golden Lion Shiki. It had nothing to do with him. Besides, joining the World Government is not the same as already being a member; they are two completely different concepts. Charlotte didn't want to complicate this.

He drew his sword Shigure, and with a flash, in an instant, King Ulun's head rolled to his feet. The king's eyes, wide open, stared at him fixedly.

"It's time for you to end your life of crimes."

Charlotte remained impassive. He didn't want to get too involved, but finding something like this, he couldn't ignore it. The nobles in the hall trembled with fear.

Looking around, Charlotte didn't understand how a bunch of useless people dared to steal from the Golden Lion Shiki. Was it the courage given by the World Government when becoming members?

Yes... it's possible. The World Government has its prestige, but Shiki doesn't care about that.

Although there was still something he didn't understand, how such a weak group had stolen Shiki's treasure ship.

Even though Shiki's subordinates are not very strong now, it shouldn't be possible.

He shook his head, the job was done, and it wasn't worth worrying about irrelevant things. So he didn't plan to keep thinking about it.
