Just as Byakuya and Sonic were preparing to leave Punk Hazard with Caesar and destroy the research facility, Caesar suddenly seemed to remember something important.
In a panic, he said, "Wait! There's one more person we need to take with us."
Byakuya glanced at Caesar with displeasure and suspicion, asking, "Are you trying to stall for time, waiting for Doflamingo to rescue you?"
"Is the Seastone embedded in your body not enough?" As he spoke, several black Seastone balls appeared around him as if by magic.
These were the ones he had secretly collected in the Sabaody Archipelago. Just one Seastone ball made Caesar feel like he was on the verge of death.
If Byakuya stuffed all of them into his body, he'd rather die on the spot.
Desperately, Caesar explained, "No, no! This person is really important! He ate the first artificial Devil Fruit that Vegapunk and I created together."
"He's of great research value!"
Upon hearing this, an extremely detestable image from an anime suddenly flashed through Byakuya's mind—the perverted kid who consistently pushed the boundaries of decency in the series.
He embodied every annoying trait you could imagine. If it was him... Underneath his mask, Byakuya revealed a cruel smile.
"Where is he? We need to find him and take him with us."
Surprised by the sudden change in Byakuya's attitude, Caesar quickly pointed the way, saying, "He's in a small room nearby."
Caesar opened the door using his access card, revealing a transparent glass container in the center of the room. Inside, a small boy was sleeping soundly.
He was dressed as a traditional samurai from Wano, with his head shaved except for a topknot at the back.
He was wearing a pink kimono and wooden sandals. Who else could it be but Momonosuke? The sound of the glass cover being removed didn't wake him.
Instead, he mumbled in his sleep, "I love Big Sister Lily the most... I want to sleep on Sister's Lily..."
A perverted grin spread across his face, and drool dripped from his mouth.
Despite his young age, Momonosuke already showed signs of becoming a lecherous fool.
Byakuya scoffed coldly, "Now that you're in my hands, you're in for quite the 'blessing.'"
He gave the order, "Take him!"
Sonic stepped forward and grabbed Momonosuke by the collar. The group then left through the passage Byakuya had blasted open earlier.
Once they reached the outside of the research facility, Byakuya unleashed his deadly move, "Mind Force: Wave of Stones."
The black Seastone balls floating around him, driven by telekinesis, surged like a dark tide, wave after wave, crashing into the research facility.
In moments, the lab, which had been hidden 100 meters underground, was reduced to rubble, with everything inside destroyed.
Caesar watched in horror at the scene before him, a question suddenly popping into his mind: Just how powerful is this Night organization?
The overwhelming noise woke Momonosuke, pulling him out of his sweet dreams. Annoyed, he shouted, "Who dares interrupt my dream?!"
In the dream, he had been playing games with a beautiful woman, and it had reached a critical moment before he was rudely awakened.
The woman, so close to being his, vanished along with the dream, leaving him extremely displeased.
However, as Momonosuke looked at his surroundings, he suddenly realized he was no longer inside the research lab.
Overjoyed, he exclaimed, "I'm free! I'm finally free! I don't have to stay in that boring place anymore!"
He then glanced at Byakuya, who was holding Caesar, and Sonic, who was holding him.
He assumed Kin'emon and the others had sent them to rescue him. After all, why else would they have pulled him out of the lab?
It seemed his subordinates weren't entirely useless, after all.
With a smug look, he raised his head arrogantly and said, "You two must be Kin'emon's subordinates, right?"
"Since you were late rescuing me, I suffered a lot in that lab, so I must punish you."
He paused, then continued, "However, as the Young Master, I'll let it slide this time since you did save me."
"But you must find ten beautiful women to serve me. Otherwise, you'll face seppuku as punishment for disobeying the Young Master."
As Momonosuke boasted, Caesar rolled his eyes weakly. Does this little brat even realize what's going on?
If it weren't for his research value, he would've been buried 100 meters underground in that lab just now.
These people weren't here to save him. And yet here he was, being so arrogant with members of the Night organization—he practically deserved to be killed.
Caesar hoped that when the Night organization finally decided to deal with Momonosuke, they wouldn't take their anger out on him.
Momonosuke, noticing that neither of his "subordinates" was responding, snapped impatiently, "Are you two deaf? Didn't you hear your Young Master?"
"And you, the guy in the purple mask, put me down! It's uncomfortable being held like this!" He started squirming in Sonic's grip.
Byakuya stared at Momonosuke. No wonder he was voted the most hated character among One Piece fans.
Just that one sentence alone made Byakuya feel the urge to crush him. But killing him outright would be too easy.
Byakuya had plans to give Momonosuke some "special care" for a long time.
As Momonosuke continued to struggle, a sudden bad feeling crept over him. Wait, could it be that these two aren't Kin'emon's men here to rescue me?
If that's the case, didn't I just make them furious with what I said? What are they going to do to me now?
Byakuya coldly commanded, "Sonic, teach him a lesson to quiet him down."
"Understood!" Sonic swiftly punched Momonosuke in the stomach.
The punch was calculated—it wasn't hard enough to kill him but painful enough to make him suffer.
Sonic, frustrated by Momonosuke's behavior, took the opportunity to vent his irritation.
Momonosuke let out a scream, his eyes bulging in agony. It felt like his insides had shattered.
The intense pain overwhelmed his undeveloped brain, and as a reflex for self-preservation, he passed out immediately.
(T/N: Some of you may have triggered. So bear with it; I don't know why the Chinese people hated so much about Momo.)
"Let's go," Byakuya ordered, and he and Sonic, carrying Caesar and the unconscious Momonosuke, vanished into the night.
Half an hour later, Donquixote Doflamingo arrived at Punk Hazard, having rushed there from Dressrosa.
When he saw the research facility reduced to ruins, rage and panic overwhelmed him, causing him to cough up blood.
The killing intent in his heart was so intense that it seemed almost tangible. He roared furiously into the night sky, "Who did this?! I'll kill you!"
His Conqueror's Haki unleashed a destructive force across the barren land of Punk Hazard, pressing the ground down by more than an inch.
His immense pressure scattered the clouds in the sky, leaving nothing but a faint crescent moon and a few dim stars, reflecting the desolation in Doflamingo's heart.
He knew there were only two weeks left before the deadline set by Kaido for the delivery of 100 artificial Devil Fruits.
With the research facility destroyed and Caesar missing, possibly dead, he could not produce more fruits.
How could he possibly explain this to Kaido? When Kaido learned of this, he would surely kill him.
For a moment, Doflamingo even considered taking the Donquixote Family and hiding in Impel Down to avoid Kaido's wrath.
After a long while, Doflamingo managed to calm his turbulent emotions.
Blood still dripped from the corner of his mouth, and his body trembled with anger as he muttered a single name: "Byakuya!"
He didn't believe Byakuya had caused this disaster, but nothing had gone smoothly for him since encountering Byakuya.
It was as if an invisible cloud of bad luck had followed him, causing every plan to fail—something he had never experienced before.
"No, I can't just wait for death," Doflamingo murmured, regaining his usual cunning, "There must be a way. Byakuya... Byakuya..."
As dawn approached, Byakuya needed to return to the G5 Marine base, so he ordered Sonic to take Caesar and Momonosuke to an island in the New World to lie low.
They would stay there until the rest of their group, led by Rob Lucci, arrived to establish a hidden base for the Night organization.
.....
In the North Blue, widely regarded as the strongest of the four seas, a rumor was spreading rapidly:
The mysterious and powerful Night organization, which had previously killed one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Crocodile, was now searching for a pirate crew known as the Heart Pirates.
This news quickly caught the attention of everyone in the North Blue, as the Night organization had recently risen to fame across the Grand Line.
Its goals and true strength remained shrouded in mystery, fueling people's curiosity and anxiety.
The patrons discussed the Night organization's pursuit of the Heart Pirates in a tavern on an unknown island.
One patron asked, "Hey, why do you think the Night organization is after the Heart Pirates?"
"Who knows?" another replied. "But I bet the Heart Pirates must have angered them somehow."
"I don't think that's likely. How could a pirate crew from the North Blue provoke the Night organization?" someone else asked.
"But I've heard that the Heart Pirates somehow angered the Vinsmoke family. They've been running from them, and it seems they're in pretty bad shape,"
added another patron.
The moment the Vinsmoke family was mentioned, the entire tavern fell silent.
After a long pause, someone nervously whispered, "Hey, maybe we shouldn't talk about that terrifying family. If they find out..."
The Vinsmoke family, royalty of the North Blue, was the most feared in the region.
With their military might, they controlled the North Blue and were the only kingdom without any land that could still attend the Reverie.
Even the Marines and the World Government feared them! That's why the mere mention of their name had silenced the entire tavern.
After a while, the patrons resumed their chatter, but this time, no one dared to mention the Vinsmokes again, instead returning to their lively discussion about the Night organization.
In a dim tavern, two hooded figures quietly ate as if they hadn't eaten in days.
One of them, a bit anxious, whispered, "Captain, why do you think the Night organization is suddenly after us? Could they be working with the Vinsmokes?"
The man next to him, wearing a furry winter hat with leopard spots, replied in a low voice, "No matter the reason, we can't reveal our identities now."
"We must find a way to leave the North Blue and escape the Vinsmoke family's control as soon as possible."
These two were none other than Trafalgar Law, the captain of the Heart Pirates, and Bepo, the crew's mink navigator.
A few days ago, they had been resupplying in a kingdom when the Vinsmoke family invaded.
To protect themselves, Law had killed hundreds of Vinsmoke soldiers and even defeated Vinsmoke Niji, the second son of the Vinsmoke family.
This led to the Vinsmokes relentlessly hunting them down, with Ichiji and Niji leading 500 soldiers in pursuit.
Law and Bepo were the only surviving members of the Heart Pirates within just a week.
Now, they were constantly on the run, hiding from the Vinsmokes and terrified of being found.
To make matters worse, they had just learned that the Night organization was also looking for them.
