Chapter 55: The Grand Arrival of the Dark Night
"Captain, these three are with the guy with the mechanical arm!"
A pirate thug reported to Brand, who was covered in bandages.
"Kill them all!"
Brand waved his only uninjured hand and announced viciously.
All the pirates, as if given an order from hell, stared at Kaizen and the others with bloodthirsty eyes.
At this critical moment, everyone maintained a tense silence.
There were hundreds of people, but not a single sound.
"Good morning everyone!"
Buggy looked around and suddenly greeted them warmly.
He hoped that being polite might make the fight a bit gentler later.
However, this greeting broke the silence, and the pirates swarmed in.
Those with guns fired, and those with swords swung them.
The battles were not exciting, and the scenes were not spectacular.
The melee lasted for a long time. What kind of battle was this?
At first, I thought it would be like cutting through a mess with a sharp knife, sweeping the fallen leaves in the autumn wind, ending the battle handsomely!
But it felt more like playing house.
The pirate thugs were dedicated, but Kaizen and the others were somewhat lacking.
They ran around the boat, climbing, kicking over buckets, tearing ropes, and having a great time.
"You come down!"
"You come up!"
"Let go!"
"You let go first!"
...
There were endless exchanges like this.
In the end, Captain Brand, staggering with the pirates, fled, and the curtain came to an end.
After the battle, Kaizen sat cross-legged on the bow of the boat, looking at the fiery sunset, his face full of melancholy.
"These days are so boring!"
Kaizen clasped his feet and squinted as he thought.
"The sun is setting." Fujitora stood beside him and said as if saying goodbye.
"Well, sooner or later, no one can stop it." Kaizen's words carried a sense of helplessness.
"Maybe this is life! Real and helpless." Fujitora said thoughtfully.
"I see." Kaizen looked at the faint sunset and smiled cruelly.
"Then I will hide in the darkness." Fujitora stood there, unshakable as his words.
"Oh! Are you heading out?" Kaizen turned and asked.
"To prove the significance of this era, we still need to keep practicing. I want to see if there are any seeds of light among the suffering people."
Meeting Kaizen had given Fujitora hope. He was different from the one who sat in despair on the island.
"Really? Then I wish you luck. When we meet again, it will be the best time of this era." Kaizen's smile was as bright as the noonday sun.
"Thank you." Fujitora's expression of gratitude was stiff, but sincere.
After these heartfelt words, he put away his sword and jumped off the pirate ship. His tall figure disappeared instantly, more ruthlessly than the setting sun.
"Really, this impatient master can't even wait for his disciple to say 'you're welcome'? Hahahaha."
Kaizen held his head with one hand and joked.
The sunset finally disappeared at the horizon.
Everything became dull, and the dark night approached.
"Listen! You idiots, I am your Captain Buggy. If you want to stay on the ship, you have only one choice. Join the Buggy Pirates and call me Captain!"
Not far away, Buggy was on the deck, asserting his authority over the remaining pirates.
"I just want to protect this ship. I don't want to recognize Captain Buggy. You outsider, get out of here!"
A middle-aged man said stubbornly.
"Huh? What? Did I hear opposition? Let's see how I deal with resistance!"
Buggy feigned ignorance and then threw a knife, hitting the pirate in the thigh.
"Ah!" The pirate screamed, kneeling on the deck.
The other pirates gasped. They didn't expect this clown-like man to be so terrifying and were instantly in awe.
They didn't know he had been an intern on the ship of the Pirate King.
"Captain Buggy!" The remaining pirates shouted in unison. To survive, they quickly changed allegiance.
"Okay, kids, you call Captain Buggy very nicely, and I like it. From now on, we're partners. Let's find the big treasure together!"
Buggy clenched his fists, jumped into the sky, and said happily.
He didn't expect to get a decent pirate ship, two amazing guys, and more than a dozen experienced crew members so easily.
Shanks, if you didn't choose to go to sea with me, it would be your biggest loss. With my current strength, conquering the sea is only a matter of time. That treasure will be mine!
Buggy chuckled to himself.
"Captain Buggy, what's next?" A pirate asked.
"Why are you asking me?" Buggy replied, wide-eyed.
"Yes...yes." The pirate was confused by Buggy's response.
"Of course, it's a party. It's my first day as your captain. If I'm not drunk, wouldn't it be ridiculous! Hahahaha!"
Buggy arrogantly put his hands on his hips and laughed, like a maniac ready to conquer the world.
All the pirates were infected by Buggy's laughter. Their previous captain, Brand, never smiled at them. He only gave orders.
"Captain Buggy, Captain Buggy!" the pirates shouted.
"Hey! What are you doing standing there? Come join the party!"
Buggy turned and shouted to Kaizen.
Kaizen stood up, walking out of the dim night with the same confident smile as before, like a prince in the dark.
"Hey! Where's the blind man? The one with the sword?"
Buggy's head popped up, circling around Kaizen.
"He? He went to find the meaning of this era."
Kaizen grinned.
The dark night fell solemnly.
